y/n sighed as she rolled up her sleve, reading the digits that were displayed
eight more minutes until she will meet her soulmate
the girl looks around the coffee shop she was in. young and old couples alike were seated in front of eachother, chatting away.
y/n soon realised, today was valentine's day.
that would explain the barista giving her a rose on the way in the shop.
funny, she thought. she was going to meet the person she will spend the rest of her life with on the international day of love.
she hurriedly stands up from her table, grabs her coat and heads for the exit.
february weather soon hits her as she opens the door to leave, making the girl shudder slightly.
and with her sleeve rolled up and rose in hand, she waits.
two more minutes
her veins rushed with nervousness, her heart beating out of her chest.
maybe it was the caffeine or maybe it was her excitment.
probably both.
y/n looks around for someone around the street.
but there was no one.
she looks again at her wrist, one more minute.
maybe the timer broke? maybe something happened to her soulmate? is she ever going to meet--
her thoughts were soon interrupted by a girl, her heels echoeing through the empty street.
the said girl crosses the street, her eyes meeting with y/n's.
a smile appears on her face as she walks past y/n.

the girl walks to her appartment, sadness seeping through her.
so, she collapses on her couch and turns on her tv. maybe that'll get her mind off of the girl she saw earlier.
a news channel popped up.
a car accident.
two people ingured, one dead.
the driver and his wife hit a girl.
and as soon as the channel showed a photo of the victim, her heart shattered.
it was her.
y/n wakes up the next morning, her eyes puffy from all the tears.
she takes the dying rose that was sitting in the vase,
feeling just like the lonely flower.
