We were cuddling on our couch, in our new apartment, in eachothers arms.

We were watching a movie, it was one of those cheesy romantic films where the guy always gets the girl and they live happily ever after.

Not really concentrating on the movie, I stare at you.

Taking in and memorising all of your features, all of your creases like it's the last time I'll see you.

After a while, your gaze meets mine, and you smile.

God I loved your smile.

So much.

And I smile back, feeling like my heart and stomach are performing a circus act.

I had you,

you had me.

Everything was perfect.

Maybe,

too perfect.

I wake up

cold, sweating, terrifed and even worse,

without her.

Suddenly it hits me,

that she's gone, she's not here.

I'm never going to wake up the next morning to her slight snoring.

I'm never going to get to spend more time with her, that I'll never be able to love someone as much as i loved her.

It hits hard, my stomach is no longer filled with butterflies but it's filled with guilt and sorrow, eating me on the inside every time I think of her.

But nonetheless, I roll around in bed, tired and sleepless, making sure that I stay on my side of the bed.

In case, she ever comes back.
