Months later...

"Ma, we're heading out now"

"Okay, I'll see you later"

"Don't hesitate to call if something is wrong with her"

"She'll be fine with me and her grandpa. Go enjoy yourselves" Ma reassures

"Okay, we'll see you later"

"Bye princess" she tells her daughter who only looks at her for a moment and gives her a toothless smile before she turns her attention back to Cocomelon

"It looks like she doesn't need me at all" she jokes with her mother

"I told you honey. She's in good hands, now go have fun kids"

"Okay ma. See you later"

She grabs her purse and goes to the huge mirror in the living room to check her appearance. She is in a black backless, long sleeved dress that clings onto her now curvaceous body thanks to her daughter. Shedding off the baby weight was harder than she thought it would be but dieting and her consistency in the gym has paid off. Her confidence is slowly coming back and she is beginning to feel like her old self once again. Her outfit ensemble is tied together with a pair of neon pink, strapped heels that show off her legs and the pedicure she got earlier today.

She walks out of the house, where she finds her husband resting on the hood of the car with a single pink rose in his hand. The look he gives her as she struts towards him is one that every woman would desire to be give by the man she loves. Even after all these years, he is still in awe that a woman with such ethereal beauty is his wife. Nonetheless, he thanks the Man above for giving him this precious gift.

"You look ravishing tonight" he compliments her as he hands her the rose.

"Thank you baby. You smell so good and you look sexy as hell especially with that grill you have in your mouth" she gives him a shy smile which earns a laugh from him because she's still as shy as she was when they first met.

"I'm so close to saying fuck dinner because you look like you could be my dinner" she giggles at his silliness

"As tempting as that offer sounds, we can't skip dinner because you and I will need energy for what I have planned for us when we get back" she says with such an innocent look on her face but he knows that there is nothing innocent about what she has in store for them.

"What exactly do you have planned for us?"

"I can't say because it will ruin the surprise but all I can say is that it'll have your toes curling"

"I can't wait"

As usual, he opens the door for her and ensures that she is settled in before going to his side. The ride to the restaurant is filled with sexual tension and they don't know how they make it to the restaurant without ripping each other's clothes off because the urges they have for each other are unreal. They gather themselves and walk into the restaurant where the hostess leads them to their table at the back.

The restaurant is dimly lit, creating the perfect ambiance for a romantic date. The last time they went on a date that didn't involve the baby was before their daughter was born and the main reason is that Thembi doesn't want to leave her baby with a nanny yet because of the horrific stories she has heard. It took Kofi arranging for her parents to visit for the weekend for her to agree to spend some alone time with him.

"I like this place"

"I knew you'd like it because you like small, intimate restaurants"

"You know me so well. Thank you for bringing me here and flying my parents in for the weekend"

"Anything for you baby. They wanted to see their granddaughter plus we need this time so I thought why not kill two birds with one stone"

"Thanks for planning this because we desperately needed some time to ourselves"

"I agree. Let's toast to our first date night since our princess was born" they raise their glasses and look into each other's eyes as their glasses clink.

Speaking of their princess, she came into the world on April 26 with a loud cry and changed their lives. Thembisa had been in labor for twelve tiring hours and it took her six pushes to bring her into the world. It was such an emotional moment for the two of them but it hit Kofi harder. He cried when he held his daughter for the first time because he felt like he now had a bigger purpose and that purpose would be to go above and beyond to make sure she is happy and safe.

Before having his daughter, he didn't think there was any way he could love his wife more but that moment proved otherwise. He was beyond grateful because she had gone through such excruciating pain to bring their daughter into the world. Being with her in that room made him appreciate her even more and he made a vow to himself that he would do whatever he could do to show his appreciation.

They named her Sevyn which has the biblical meaning of perfection/wholesomeness and that is all they saw when they looked at their bundle of joy. Her second name Amali which means hope was a suggestion they got from her cousin and they fell in love with it because she was the gift they had been hoping for. She is the perfect mix of her parents, from her mother's nose and complexion to her fathers eyes and playfulness.

"Are you still here with me?" Thembi asks her husband who is sitting in front of her, smiling like an idiot.

"My bad. I was thinking about my princess"

"You are wrapped around that little girls fingers"

"Are you jealous mami?"

"I'm not jealous babe. You being in dad mode has to be the cutest thing I have ever seen"

"I'm not ashamed to admit that I have a spot for her and that I would go to great lengths to make sure she is happy. That little girl is my world"

"I see you becoming one of those dads that scare off the guys she introduces you to"

"You're absolutely right. I'm going to be that way because she deserves the absolute best and I won't let a guy play with her. Being a girl dad makes you think of all the shitty things I did to girls and I never want a guy to do that to her because it would be over for him. Let's drop this subject before I start stressing out"

"Okay papa bear"

They sit in the restaurant for the next two hours, catching up on everything they had missed out on and just enjoying being in each other's company. By the time they leave the restaurant, they are both feeling horny from all the teasing and footsie they did at the table. Thembi is a horny drunk and all she wants to do is to get home so she can do nasty things to her husband. During their drive home, she gives him a taste of what is awaiting him at home and that excites him even more.

When they step into the house, they are all over each other and things become awkward when they find their parents in the living room with someone they do not recognize. The lady is slender, brown skinned, with kinky hair that has been left in an afro. She is dressed in a peach dress with a pleated skirt and it's all tied together with gold sandals.

The more Kofi looks at this woman, the more familiar she looks but he just doesn't know where he knows her from. What he doesn't know is that he is about to get the shock of his life.

"Hi mom and dad. How was she?" Thembi breaks the awkward silence

"She was good. We had so much fun with her but you two might want to sit down for what we are about to tell you" her mom says making them feel uneasy because her tone and the look on her face shows that it's something serious.

"What is it mom? You're scaring me?"

"Kofi do you have any idea who this woman is?"

"I have no idea who she is"

"She's your mother" she says and it goes so quiet that you can hear a pin drop.

"This has to be a joke"

"It's not a joke Kofi. We have been talking to her for about thirty minutes now and everything she said matched with everything you have told us about your childhood"

"This can't be real. Am I being pranked?"

"I'm so sorry Kofi" the woman finally speaks

"Why—why would you wait this long to come back into my life?" He questions her with nothing but hurt laced with his voice and all she does is look at him with shame, not knowing how to begin the conversation.

What began as a good night and was about to end with him rolling in the sheets with his wife has completely shifted because of this unexpected visit. The crazy thing is that he had imagined how this moment would pan out countless times but now that it has come, he has no idea how to deal with it.
