Huang Dewei thought for a while then he knock and entered his bedroom chamber. Wang Lei was sitting on his chair as he looked up toward him who greeted him, but Wang Lei angrily looked away.

'Why are you here at this time of night?' Wang Lei asked as Huang Dewei look outside which was filled with darkness. It was quite late at night

'I could not go to sleep knowing that you are angry with me.'Huang Dewei said truthfully. Wang Lei being angry with him was really bothering him. His heart was restless and his mind uneasy.

'And who's fault is that?' Wang Lei asked callously as he did not even spare a gaze towards Huang Dewei who sighed as he replied to him.

'It is my fault.'

'Good to hear that you know that.' Wang Lei said as he closed away the file but he was still sitting in the chair but facing him this time.

'What should I do that you won't be angry with me anymore.' Huang Dewei asked helplessly as Wang Lei stood up as he walked towards the window and then turned away from him.

'Nothing...I don't want you to do anything.' Wang Lei said simply as he looked outside the window into dark night and Huang Dewei felt he stabbed his heart.

'I hate it when you get angry with me.' Huang Dewei confessed and Wang Lei surprised looked at him who actually seems worried and sad.

'Why? Do I matter to you that much?' Wang Lei asked little surprised

'Yes, what kind of stupid question is that?' Huang Dewei replied like he was asking a stupid question and Wang Lei sighed and then looked away back towards the window

'You matter to me too Huang Dewei. Everything you say and does affects me. That's why I was hurt you did not trust me. You should always stand by me and trust me.' Wang Lei confessed in a soft yet hurtful tone and Huang Dewei felt even more guilty.

'I apologised for hurting your sentiments. I know I should never jump to conclusions before knowing and understanding your point of view. I will be careful next time.' Huang Dewei said as he apologised and Wang Lei sighed

'I care about you, Huang Dewei...really care about you.' Wang Lei whispered gently but Huang Dewei heard it.

'I care about you too, his highness.' Huang Dewei said and Wang Lei turned towards him as he asked him

'More than the person you used to love before, right?' Huang Dewei was surprised by the question as well as the comparison he was making. Wang Lei knew he was comparing himself with Xin Ying and he had no idea why he was doing it.

'What?'

'I am asking do you care about me more than the person you used to love before?' Wang Lei asked and Huang Dewei stared at him as he saw an annoyed and irritated expression on his face.

'Are you...by chance jealous?' Huang Dewei slowly asked as he analysed his expression further to conclude.

'What? No...' Wang Lei quickly said as he denied

'Are you sure? You look jealous, your highness.' Huang Dewei said as he took a step closer to him.

'I said I am not...stop your nonsense and just reply to me.' Wang Lei asked as he was suddenly flushed with the whole conversation

'Well my first love still has a place in my heart and I would always care for her... I mean she would always have a place in my heart, don't you think that's right?' Huang Dewei replied as playful expressions were playing on his lips. He was quite enjoying this unexpected conversation and his reaction.

'Equal place alongside me?' Wang Lei asked little stupefied by the clear indication that he did not like his reply.

'Yeah.' Huang Dewei replied while he lied. He was lying for him Wang Lei and Xin Ying were not on the same level anymore. Unconsciously he was more important to him now than anyone else even from Xin Ying.

'How is that possible? You can't keep two people at exactly the same level in your heart. It's either me or her?' Wang Lei asked as he glared at him. He was not liking his expressions nor his answers.

'See you look jealous.' Huang Dewei asked he reminded him and Wang Lei felt even more frustrated.

'You are making me angry again, Huang Dewei.' Wang Lei warned him as he scowled towards him while he slowly moved forward and whispered in his ear

'But I like it...the fact you look insecure about sharing me with someone else and not accepting it... it's fun to see.' Huang Dewei smirked

'You are going to regret later for messing with me like this Huang Dewei.' Wang Lei said as warned him and Huang Dewei looked at him as his mind was in the mood of being all playful without having regard that he was talking to the Emperor of the Wang Dynasty.

'Then make me regret it.' Huang Dewei said seductively as he smirk and Wang Lei felt his heart stop because he understood Huang Dewei meant it in a sexual way.

'What?' Wang Lei was petrified over his words and tone.

'You know I have said worse to my previous lover. Do you want to hear it?' Huang Dewei continued while there was still a smirk plastered on his face

'No, stop it. I don't want to know. You should go back to your room now.' Wang Lei said as he pushed him a little away by putting a hand over his chest.

'Are you not angry with me, right?' Huang Dewei said as he wanted to confirm before he could go away and Wang Lei looked toward him.

'Do you think I would not be angry after you said all that nonsense to me?' Wang Lei said as he walked passed from him while Huang Dewei stopped him from holding his robe

'I was just joking...I did not mean what I said.' Huang Dewei said as he was cutely holding onto his robe and Wang Lei looked towards him

'I don't like these kinds of jokes.' Wang Lei said as Huang Dewei nodded his head

'I understand and I apologised.'

'What you used to do for your previous lover when she used to get angry with you?' Wang Lei asked and Huang Dewei was puzzled staring at him because he was back on the same topic. Also, Wang Lei had no idea either why he was suddenly fixed on asking how he was with Xin Ying and was comparing himself with Xin Ying unconsciously while he folded his arms over his chest and looked towards him.

'Tell me how you used to make her not get angry with you when she was angry with you? Do it for me but in a different and better way.' Wang Lei said as he pouted and Huang Dewei could not help and burst into laughter.

'Are you really not going to accept that you are jealous?' Huang Dewei said and Wang Lei just glared at him.

'Just get out...I do not wish to see you anymore.' Wang Lei said as he was rageful at his behaviour and Huang Dewei stopped laughing as he realised he should stop making him angrier.

'I used to make food for her...I am a good cook...I will go and do it for you too. Just stop getting angry with me.' Huang Dewei said and then he was about to walk towards the door but Wang Lei stopped him.

'You are still not fully healed...You need to rest instead of going and making food for me this late...I am not angry with you anymore.' Wang Lei said and Huang Dewei looked towards him as he was touched by his consideration.

'Thank you.'

'Now go and get some rest. It is getting late.' Wang Lei said as he moved and softly patted his hair and Huang Dewei nodded his head with one last smile, he turned over and walked out while Wang Lei also sighed in relief. They both were happy that they were able to sort out their difference and did not go to sleep being angry with each other.

Huang Dewei was putting back his robe after applying the medicine to his body when there was a knock on his door. He walked and opened it and came face to face with an unfamiliar servant. They greeted each other

'Previous Emperor want to see you.' The servant ordered and Huang Dewei was surprised to hear at Wang Wei wanted to see him, but it was not like he had the option to reject his offer. He looked at himself to see if he was dressed appropriately and then came out of his room. He quietly followed the servant as he reached Wang Wei's residence. He stopped at his bedroom chamber then knocked on the door and entered inside.

Wang Wei was sitting on the soft cushion as he looked up towards Huang Dewei who respectfully greeted him. Wang Lei accepted his greeting with an annoyed face as he signal him to sit down and Huang Dewei sat down in front of him.

'Did you call for me?' Huang Dewei said as he looked up at him

'What would you take to leave Wang Lei?' Wang Wei asked straightforwardly and Huang Dewei was surprised by his question.

'With all due respect, what do you mean?' Huang Dewei asked

'I am ready to give you money as much as you want and in return go away from here.' Wang Wei said as he throw money and gold coins in front of him. Huang Dewei stares at the money and then sighed. He felt embarrassed that he think of him as someone cheap who he can buy with money.

'I don't need any money.' Huang Dewei respectfully reject his offer but he was boiling with anger inside.

'Do you think you will be any help to Wang Lei? You can't give him children, what will be your use as his concubine.' Wang Wei asked and Huang Dewei was looking at him as he bite his lips angrily. He did not like his question, but he had no answer for him either.

'Do you have no answer for me? All you can give him is sex and after a while, that will be meaningless.' Wang Wei said arrogantly and Huang Dewei felt even more humiliated yet he still had no reply because he was right. As a man, what else he can give him?

'I am thinking of your benefit. You have no place in the palace. You are no use to Wang Lei in any way.' Wang Wei said and Huang Dewei stayed quiet listening to all insults.

'I want to stay by his highness and wanted to complete my duty as his personal bodyguard.' Huang Dewei finally said in response as he looked towards him and felt like he was mocking him.

'These are delusional things...you are just a slave who can be used to fulfil his sexual needs and nothing more...you can't give what Xin Ying can give him.' Wang Wei said and Huang Dewei was a little confused about his last statement when the door was opened as Xin Ying entered inside. She greeted him on which Wang Wei greeted her back with happy expressions completely different from how he greeted Huang Dewei as she sat down next to Huang Dewei.

'Xin Ying is pregnant with his child. She will be giving this nation, their next emperor.' Wang Wei announced overjoyed and Huang Dewei was shocked as he looked at Xin Ying who smile at him and then nodded his head while confirming. Huang Dewei felt his heart had stopped...He felt something broke inside him... He always was insecure about how those women are better than him because they can give him a child and now one of them was already pregnant with his child. Will Wang Lei forget about him once he would have a child with someone else which Huang Dewei can never give him?

'Congratulation, my Emperess.' Huang Dewei as he congratulated her making sure Wang Wei won't know that they know each other and Xin Ying just smile

'Wang Lei does not know about it yet...I will let him know soon.'Xin Ying said and Huang Dewei just nodded his head.

'Take the money and go away from here.' Wang Wei said getting back to the conversation without any care about how Huang Dewei was feeling as he pointed towards the money on the floor. Huang Dewei sighed.

'He is right...that is not the place you belong to Huang Dewei. Why you would want to be trapped as someone concubine for the rest of your life...you deserve to be loved and have a family of your own.' Xin Ying said this time and Huang Dewei looked toward her and felt even more humiliated and disgraced. Why they were ganging up against him? Why do they want to get rid of him? If he was nothing more than a sex toy for Wang Lei then why they did not want him here. Why they were scared of his presence when he would be the meaningless person to Wang Lei in future? Huang Dewei was unable to understand their political agenda. He had no idea how fearful they were knowing how much power he holds over Wang Lei.

'I am not leaving his highness.' Huang Dewei announced his decision and they both looked at him due to his stubbornness which made Wang Wei angry

'You are just a slave...why do you think you have any importance in his life. Does he say he loves you?' Wang Wei asked as he was fuming with rage and Huang Dewei looked towards him and then towards Xin Ying who was also curiously waiting for his response

'No, he never said he loves me.' Huang Dewei replied truthfully as he heard Xin Ying sigh in relieved

'See, I don't know why he wants you either but it's probably something temporary. He will get over you and then you will spend your all life lying somewhere in the corner...this is your chance take it and run off.' Wang Wei said as he soften back his tone to make him understand nicely however Huang Dewei stood up as spoke up in a firm tone

'His Emperess giving birth to his highness' child had nothing to do with me becoming his concubine. I am not leaving and I hope something like this will not offer to me again...I am not interested neither I am running away.' Huang Dewei said then bowed down to him and walked out without listening to anything, but his heart was heavy now because what they said, at the end of the day, was true. Maybe this all was temporary for Wang Lei. It was not like he love him or even confessed to having any feelings for him except that he wanted him sexually. It was all lust and attraction and how long someone can be with someone just based on these two things if there was no love. Huang Dewei knew his feeling was more than sexual attraction for Wang Lei. He knew he like him...maybe even love him, but was the same for Wang Lei. Huang Dewei had no idea.
