Chen Ju was angrily pacing around in her room. She never imagined that the event turn-up could be like this. She already hated Huang Dewei because of the power he had over Wang Lei just as a slave. She can just imagine how it would be when he would be given equal status as his concubine. There would be no difference left between him and Chen Ju. The ceremony of Huang Dewei's becoming Wang Lei's concubine would take place in some time so Chen Ju has some time to do between that time. She needed to come up with a plan so he would not gain equal status as her neither did she has to apologise to that flirty person for the act she never regretted.

Meanwhile, Xin Ying sighed and looked toward Huang Dewei who was sitting on the bench as he was enjoying the air. The whole atmosphere made him feel stuffy hence he came out to get some fresh air while Xin Ying had no idea how to approach him. However, she gained courage and walked toward him. He looked up at her and as usual greeted her with respect.

'Are you angry with me?' Xin Ying asked looking at his chopped hair and Huang Dewei shook away his head as he spoke up

'I am not angry, but hurt. I don't get why you did that Xin Ying.' Huang Dewei complained and Xin Ying sighed regretfully

'I became blind...Chen Ju said we should not let a slave like you walk all over us and I believe her. I should have acted more mature.' Xin Ying confessed and Huang Dewei could not help but felt little space for forgiveness for Xin Ying in his heart.

'I have fallen in love with him but he never accepted me completely. But now the situation I have been put in due to circumstances he would have every right over me...I can't reject him neither I would want to. I am telling you clearly now so you won't come back attacking me again because you are his wife.' Huang Dewei said truthfully and Xin Ying's heart hurt hearing those words but there was no lie. All she could do was nodded her head

'I understand. I do regret my childish act and I do apologise to you now and would do it after the ceremony as well.' Xin Ying said as tears started falling off her eyes and Huang Dewei's heart weaken. At the end day, she was once the love of his life...she meant everything to him. They both moved on from each other, but that does not mean they had no space for each other.

'Even if I want to reject the offer of being his third concubine for you I can't. I am just still a slave...I have very less status in front of him.' Huang Dewei said and Xin Ying just nodded her head as Huang Dewei moved his hand ad softly cleaned off the tears.

'Thank you.' Xin Ying said as she smile at him with teary eyes and Huang Dewei smiled back at him. Meanwhile, Wang Lei who standing far away saw a whole scene happening in front of him.

'Do you want to go there, your highness?' Cheng asked as he saw him standing on the same spot watching them from far away Wang Lei shook away his head as he spoke up

'No leave them...they need time and space to sort out their issues. Let them talk and discuss.' Wang Lei said and walked off because he knew how Huang Dewei still had soft spot for Xin Ying as his first love and would always have that spot for her. Same with Xin Ying while Cheng nodded his head and quickly followed him inside. After ending his short-lived conversation with Xin Ying, Huang Dewei came back to Wang Lei's chamber. He bowed down and greeted him as Wang Lei looked up at him.

'I got work for you, Huang Dewei.'

'How I can help you with my service, your highness?' Huang Dewei responded back immediately

'Feng Zhi's message came. He has to send a description and the address of the man I told him to find out about. We need to go to libaray and get that information.' Wang Lei told him and Huang Dewei nodded his head

'Do you want me to go alone?'

'No, I will go with you. Last time they attack you so they can do it again.' Wang Lei said and Huang Dewei nodded his head

'Come and meet me late in the evening at the backside in your disguise. I will meet you there as well.' Wang Lei said and Huang Dewei nodded his head

'You can go now.' Wang Lei ordered him and Huang Dewei nodded his head and with the last gaze on his short hair he walked out. Even with short hair, he still looked like an Emperor due to his aura and authority. Huang Dewei went to training and did some sword practice training then ate his food and spend the rest of his evening in the presence of Qi Zixin who was very happy about the news of Huang Dewei's becoming Wang Lei's concubine. He felt proud for some reason. Huang Dewei had also sent a letter to his parents and sister regarding this matter. The letter would take some time so he was patiently waiting for his parents' response.

In the evening as time got nearer, he wore his back robe disguise while covering his mouth and wore a hat over his head as he reached his destination where Wang lei was waiting for him in a similar disguise. He bowed down as he greeted him as they both were carrying their sword and they jumped out from the wall and started walking. There was complete silence between them while there were people walking past them. They said no word to each other as they reached their destination. They walked past the busy market street filled with people. Due to the evening, it was not as busy as it usually is in the morning and afternoon but it still was quite busy.

They reached the Central libaray and greeted the person who recognised them straight away. He greeted Wang Lei with respect as they walked inside. They reached the book section and inside the book called 'Journey of Unfulfilled life' Wang Lei found the letter, he came for. Huang Dewei kept an eye around his surrounding while Wang Lei put the letter safely inside his pocket. Without a word, they both walked out of the central library.

They started walking back to the palace while keeping their eyes and minds open. They walked passed from the same jewellery store Huang Dewei always stopped to buy hairpins for Wang Lei. But today he decided to just walk past it, however, the owner of the store recognised him and grabbed him from his robe. They both stopped.

'You finally came back... you ask me to keep the best piece for you for next time, I kept my promise.' The storekeeper said as he showed him a new hairpin. First Wang Lei was confused but then after seeing the similar hairpin he realised what he was talking whereas Huang Dewei turned red with embarrassment. He was just happy Wang Lei can't see his face under his mask.

'You got the wrong person.' Huang Dewei lied as he pulled himself away from his grip to walk away but the storekeeper stopped him again.

'Don't be shy. You always hide your face but I recognised you from your eyes. Take it and don't be shy...I don't judge that you take this for your lover who is male.' The storekeeper said and Huang Dewei's eyes widen even more. He was making all assumptions and that too on the wrong day. Meanwhile, Wang Lei was just listening to the whole situation amusingly. The hairpin was similar to the previous one Huang Dewei gave him which he usually gets whenever he comes to do the task at the central libaray which means the storekeeper was probably not lying. He did ask him to keep the best piece. Was he thinking of taking more hairpins for Wang Lei? Wang Lei thought as he felt touched but then he find him cute too because he knew he was feeling embarrassed under his mask.

'What? A lover...you got it all wrong.' Huang Dewei quickly said in his defence. He was ashamed that it was all taking place in Wang Lei's presence. He wanted to murder the storekeeper which he clearly would have done if glaring can murder someone.

'Don't be embarrassed even our Emperor is having his first-ever male concubine. I don't judge.' The storekeeper said as he wink at him and Huang Dewei was horrified. That man had no idea he was actually talking about them right in front of them.

'You need to stop..' Huang Dewei screamed terrified while the storekeeper just laugh. He was not taking him seriously.

'Just buy it for me, Huang Dewei.' Wang Lei said first time interpreting the conversation and they both looked toward him

'Are you his lover?' The storekeeper asked the question curiously as they both were wearing similar clothes.

'What? No...'Huang Dewei screamed replied. He was getting more and more embarrassed about the whole situation. He should have come alone. Huang Dewei thought regretfully

'Don't be shy Weiwei...There is nothing to be ashamed about us.' Huang Dewei heard Wang Lei say in a soft lovingly tone as he called him with a nickname and Huang Dewei surprised snapped his head towards him while the storekeeper laughed.

'Yeah...who cares whatever is your preference.' The storekeeper said and Wang Lei nodded his head as he put his hand around Huang Dewei's waist Huang Dewei jumped on his place over their physical contact as he looked back towards Wang Lei.

'Just buy it for me.' Wang Lei ordered him as he smile through his mask.

'How much?' Huang Dewei asked looking back towards the storekeeper who told him the price and he bought the hairpin. Wang Lei did not take a second as he took the hairpin from his hand and started walking. Huang Dewei quickly followed him.

'I am sorry for causing you any inconvenience, your highness.'

'Did you ask him to keep the best piece for you?' Wang Lei asked as he put the hairpin inside his pocket and Huang Dewei just nodded his head as he looked away turning even redder. Wang Lei looked toward him and then stopped.

'Look up...' Wang Lei ordered him and Huang Dewei slowly looked up at him.

'Don't be embarrassed by our relationship anymore...The whole world will know about it now.' Wang Lei said and Huang Dewei looked at him and was surprised that he was not embarrassed at all to tell others about their relationship. He was not presenting them as two men being together in secret like a dirty secret but openly with respect. All Huang Dewei could do was nod his head. Wang Lei looked at him then moved and softly grabbed his face between his hands.

'Weiwei...you are mine now.' Wang Lei said and Huang Dewei's eyes widen as even if he wanted to say something he could not.

'Weiwei...' Whispered the nickname Wang Lei was calling him because he was still shocked that he was calling him by the nickname.

'That's your nickname...Don't you like it? I like it.' Wang Lei confessed then turned over and started walking while Huang Dewei said nothing and just followed. He also liked that nickname, He could not say anything, but a small soft smile played on his lips as they walked back to the palace.
