Wang Lei standing in the baloney of his room as he looked up towards the cherry blossom trees. It was the start of Spring. The flowers were everywhere making the surroundings and environment refreshing and beautiful.

Wang Lei thought his gaze fell on Huang Dewei who was standing a little far away with his friend Qi Zixin while he was talking and laughing. He was also there to enjoy the beautiful starting of Spring and at that moment Wang Lei realised his laugh was a million times more beautiful than Spring flowers. He had not seen him since yesterday after an incident with his father. He came but he send him away saying he wanted to be left alone and he should just go and enjoy his time off. Feng Zhi had also gone on his mission of finding that suspicious man.

Wang Lei thought as he was staring at him who probably was unknown from his gaze when he saw Xin Ying stopping in front of him. He saw them bowing down and then he saw Xin Ying pulling Huang Dewei with her into a corner. They were talking about something which Qi Zixin had no idea but now knowing their love history he definitely was not happy with their closeness. Wang Lei sighed angrily and walked back inside his room.

Huang Dewei bowed down to Xin Ying surprised when he saw her standing in front of him while Qi Zixin also bowed down with equal surprised expressions while her maids and servants were standing behind her.

'I need to talk to you, Huang Dewei...in private.' Xin Ying said and before Huang Dewei could say a word she pulled him from his hand and took him away.

'What do you want to talk about Xin Ying? This is not the right place.' Huang Dewei whispered as he looked around. Fearful of people gossiping and more importantly that gossip reaching Wang Lei's ears who already seem extremely sad over his fight with his father.

'Did Wang Lei ask you anything?' Xin Ying whispered asked worriedly.

'Ask what?'

'About us?'

'No, why would he ask?' Huang Dewei replied confused and Xin Ying sighed in relief

'Thank god...two nights ago, he came to my room and ask about my ex-lover.' Xin Ying said and Huang Dewei felt the earth stop around him as he stopped breathing.

'What?'

'Yeah I thought he caught you, but if you are still standing here alive then it probably was nothing.' Xin Ying said as an insurance and Huang Dewei nodded his head as he felt relief. Wang Lei asked nothing from him neither did he seems suspicious.

'You are right.'

'Anyway, just be careful. I will see you later.' Xin Ying said and walked off while Huang Dewei was left deep in thoughts when Qi Zixin stopped next to him

'What happens? Why Emperess wanted to talk to you in private.' Qi Zixin asked curiously

'It's nothing. She wanted some information on her husband regarding his highness from him since I am his personal bodyguard and stay with him the most throughout the day.' Huang Dewei lied and Qi Zixin just nodded his head and looked away towards the flowers on the tree as Huang Dewei remembered Wang Lei. He really wanted to enjoy spring flowers with him. Huang Dewei thought as he sighed

'I need to go somewhere... I will be going, Qi Zixin. You enjoy.' Huang Dewei said the next second then turned over and walked off without hearing what Qi Zixin had to say who just sighed then went back to watching flowers. Huang Dewei reached in front of Wang Lei's chamber and after knocking he entered inside. Wang Lei looked back at him as he stopped reading his book.

'What are doing here, Huang Dewei? I told you to take a day off today.' Wang Lei said as he went back to reading. He was standing in front of the window, in his usual place to read as Huang Dewei stares at his shoulder then towards his hair and his gaze fell on the hairpin. He was wearing the hairpin he gave him, but this time the new one. A smile crept on Huang Dewei's face. He was genuinely happy.

'How are you feeling?' Huang Dewei asked

'I am fine...I hope you did not just come to ask me this.' Wang Lei said coldly not even sparing a gaze towards him. He was still reading his book

'It's the start of Spring outside. I thought I would come and invite you to come outside and enjoy.' Huang Dewei replied back while staring at his back.

'I believe you already got people to enjoy Spring with you. ' Wang Lei replied in an icy tone referring to Xin Ying. His jealousy was obvious yet Huang Dewei had no idea

'I came to get the person I wanted to enjoy my Spring with.' Huang Dewei replied back in a calm soft tone and Wang Lei sighed.

'And why you wanted to do with me? You probably celebrate all the Spring before with other people.' Wang Lei asked annoyed as he closed the book and was looking outside the window. Still, he did not look back at him.

'Well, before I did not have you and now I don't want you to celebrate it all alone.' Huang Dewei replied truthfully

'Huang Dewei, just leave me alone...I am busy and tired. I want to be left alone for today...Am I asking too much from you?' Can't you leave me alone for one day?' Wang Lei said as he sighed still not looking back at him and Huang Dewei could tell how hurt he was by his father's behaviour and how lonely he looked. Huang Dewei felt the same sadness for him as he slowly walked towards him and hugged him from the back. Wang Lei's eyes widen as he was shocked by their contact. He freezes in his place. 

'No, I can't leave you...It is hard for me to see you struggling all alone.' Huang Dewei replied softly as he put his head over his back and Wang Lei closed his eyes. He liked it...Actually, he loved it...He felt good having him support him like this. Wang Lei was embarrassed that how low Huang Dewei would think of him after getting a slap from his father in front of him, but he did not make him embarrassed. All he wanted was to share Wang Lei's sadness with him. They said nothing as they stood there in complete silence

'You can share with me your feeling, your highness. I am here listening to you.' Huang Dewei said after a few seconds and Wang Lei's eyes flew open.

'Did I make the wrong decision Huang Dewei?' Wang Lei asked as he shared his fear and Huang Dewei moved away then slowly turned him over as their eyes met for the first time. 

'No, you think about your poor nation before rich elites so you made the right decision. Getting fruits from Qi is not as important as respect for us. We, as a nation, are known to be corrupt and looked down upon by others nation because money matter more than an honour to us. You did right.' Huang Dewei said and Wang Lei stares at him and then nodded his head.

'Thank you.' Wang Lei said gratefully and Huang Dewei smiled

'I did nothing...I just told you the truth.' Huang Dewei replied back and Wang Lei stares at him then he moved and put a strand of his hair behind his ear. Huang Dewei blushed as he turned red over Wang Lei's romantic gesture.

'You are beautiful inside out, Huang Dewei.' Wang Lei confessed and Huang Dewei looked at him.

'More than women you slept with?' Words were out of his mouth before he could even think over them. He regrets them as usual. He sounded like a jealous lover whereas Wang Lei was intensely looking at him as he asked him. 

'Does that matter?'

'It matters because you sleep with them because you find them attractive and beautiful.' Huang Dewei argue back

'I could be sleeping with them to forget about someone.' Wang Lei's replied as he was playing with his hair lovingly while Huang Dewei was confused about his response

'What do you mean?' Huang Dewei asked and Wang Lei looked toward him

'It does not matter. You don't need to know the meaning behind it.' Wang Lei simply replied 

'But I want to.' Huang Dewei argue back stubbornly as he wanted to know what he meant. He always says stuff and then never explains it to him.

'Wait here...I am coming.' Wang Lei said totally ignoring his question and walked off while Huang Dewei sighed. Huang Dewei looked towards him who went towards the table and opened the drawer. He took something out and then walked back towards him.

Wang Lei stopped in front of him and then gave him the necklace pendant he was holding. It was a Wang Lei's pendant. Huang Dewei confused looked towards the necklace and then towards him.

'You always get hairpin for me so I thought I should give you in return too.' Wang Lei said and Huang Dewei was stunned

'But...mine are cheap...this is expensive...it is real gold.' Huang Dewei said still shocked and bombshell

'So? It's a gift. Take it.' Wang Lei said as he smile and waited for Huang Dewei to take the hairpin

'No, That is yours and people will recognise it's yours because these designs are made just for you as an Emperor of this nation. ' Huang Dewei replied as he respectfully rejected it.

'So what's the issue?' Wang Lei asked still puzzled over his reaction. He thought he would be happy and overwhelmed

'This will lead to more gossip about us...there are already enough people who keep saying we are something or something is going on between us.' Huang Dewei replied and Wang Lei looked at him and then he felt angry.

'Are you rejecting me?' Wang Lei asked angrily and Huang Dewei looked toward him

'Why would I will let people gossip about us when there is nothing...I can pretend to show other people by wearing this, but what's the point when it's not even true.' Huang Dewei replied hiding his sadness and Wang Lei's angrily glared at him.

'Then I should not even be wearing what you give me.' Wang Lei said fumingly as he put his hand in his hair to take out the hairpin and Huang Dewei quickly moved and held his hand as he stopped him

'That is the only thing you can give me after rejecting me...so don't take it out...that is only happiness you can give by wearing it. You can be with whoever you wanted to be but accept the gifts I give you.' Huang Dewei said seriously looking dead in his eyes and Wang Lei stares back at him and then nodded his head.

'Then I will be going.' Huang Dewei said as he bowed down and was about to walk off when Wang Lei stopped him from holding his hand

'Keep it. I gave it to you...you don't have to wear it but still, keep it with you.' Wang Lei's said putting the necklace in his hand and Huang Dewei looked at the gold circle pendant with a butterfly picture on it while it had Wang Lei's name written on the back as a symbol for others that it belonged to the Emperor. Huang Dewei looked back Wang Lei then nodded his head, put the necklace pendant in his pocket and walked out.
