Huang Dewei stares at the closed door in front of him as he heavily sighed. The last night's scene played at the back of his mind and he felt more embarrassed. He knew he should not have stared towards him and if he got caught he should have looked away and he did not do either. Well, he can't run away from it and he has to face it.

With one last heavy breath, he announced his presence outside Wang Lei's office chamber and entered inside the room. Coldness and darkness welcomed him. He looked up and saw him sitting on his seat reading some documents in his hand with his cold and powerful aura. He was looking magnificent in his red robe, tied up black hair, red lips and slick jawline. He did not spare a glance towards Huang Dewei who walked and stopped in front of him.

'Reporting on duty, Your highness.' Huang Dewei said as he bowed down to him then stood back up but kept his gaze down while looking at the floor.

'Did you settle in well?' He heard him asking in the same icy tone

'Yes, your highness.' Huang Dewei replied

'Did you like your room?' The next question was asked

'Yes, your highness.' Huang Dewei replied still not daring to look up towards him.

'Did you like people you met at the royal guard palace?' The next question was asked as Wang Lei put away the documents on the table.

'Yes, your highness.' Huang Dewei replied respectfully

'Did you like the romantic scene your witness last night?' Wang Lei asked next as he intensely stares towards him.

'Yes, your high....' Huang Dewei was saying and as the whole question registered in his mind, he stopped then looked up towards his stony expressionless face. He regretted as he realised which romantic scene he was referring to. He quickly sat down on his knee as he spoke up

'My apologies, I did not mean to see anything.'

'Do you know it's crime to invade Emperor 's privacy?' Wang Lei asked and Huang Dewei closed him regretfully. It was not really his fault as Emperor 's doing romance in open and he by chance saw it. It was not like he wanted to see anything.

'I apologised your highness.' Huang Dewei replied when he heard him standing up from his place and Huang Dewei's felt his heart drop in his stomach. Wang Lei walked and stopped in front of him and then he saw his hand holding his chin and making his lookup. Huang Dewei's eyes met his cold eyes and yet again just like last night he could not look away.

'You commit a crime hence you deserve a punishment, don't you think?' Wang Lei ruthlessly asked as looking dead in his eyes and Huang Dewei shiver with his tone.

'Yes, your highness. I will take whatever punishment you will give me?' Huang Dewei replied sincerely and Wang Lei kept staring towards his innocent and naive face and then he slowly bend down. Hiang Dewei breath stopped in his throat when he heard Wang Wei whispering in his ear.

'How about you spread your legs for me and let me satisfy myself with you.' On hearing his words, Huang Dewei eyes widened due to shock as Wang Lei backed up and looked at his terrified and shocked expression. The corner of his mouth pulled him as he smirk and Huang Dewei found him so attractive and he does not why.

'That was a joke. I kinda like seeing that shocked expression on your face. It entertains me.' Wang Dewei said after a few seconds as he stood back up then turned over. The last night scene played in front of Huang Dewei's eyes and he does not know where he got the courage from to say the words he said next.

'If I do what you said, Will I be able to get some reaction from you unlike that woman from last night?' Huang Dewei bites his lips as he soon words left his mouth while Wang Lei stopped in his tracks then snapped his head towards him and this time his eyes were filled with fury and anger. Huang Dewei regretted his words and wanted to bury himself deep under the ground. Why did he even say that to him? He really had lost his mind. What is even thinking or maybe he was not even thinking anymore?

Wang Lei knew he was talking about his no reaction when Chen Ju kissed him. He stomped towards Huang Dewei like an injured lion who quickly scared looked down.

'Repeat that again.' Wang Lei asked in a threatening tone and Huang Dewei felt afraid for his life. He said nothing as he tighten his lips.

'It's nothing...' Huang Dewei whispered replied

'Do you really wish for your death, is not?' Wang Lei asked outraged and Huang Dewei closed his eyes. He prayed for his life as stopped his breath. There was complete silence in the room for a few seconds and then Huang Dewei heard him

'Go to a horse ranch, clean the place and feed the horses. That is your punishment.' On hearing those words, he snapped looked towards him. That's it? That's his punishment. That is such a small punishment. He thought Wang Lei was going to order his execution. He sighed in relief then nodded his head.

Wang Lei wrote his orders on paper and send him off. He did not waste his time and ran out of the room in case he said something more and increase the chances of his death penalty. He smile as he started walking towards the horse ranch.

He felt so happy and cheerful as he reached his destination and showed a document which had Wang Lei's orders and signature as proof. The organiser of the horse ranch nodded his head then let him inside. As soon as Huang Dewei put his foot inside the horse ranch he realised why it was a punishment. His smile dropped there were around hundreds of horses for whom he was sent to clean and feed.

His breath stopped and his heart sank. His life sucks. He cursed himself and Wang Lei as he stood still in his place dumbfounded when he saw the organiser of the place stop in front of him. He passed down white plain clothes to him and spoke up

'Change into your clothe and get to the work. Your highness order this as your punishment so you are doing it all alone.' The organiser said and walk off while Huang Dewei hold his head in his hands and sat down on the ground heartbroken. Life at the palace would be hard, he knew that but not on his first day. He sighed then looked around and went inside the bathroom. He changes his clothes then came back out.

He looked at the place with sad expressions and then started his work. Since it was early in the morning, he needed to feed the horses first. He had once worked at a horse ranch which was owned by his father's friend so he knew what he needed to do but it was just that this horse ranch was on a lot bigger and larger scale, His father's friend only own two horses but here it was hundreds.

The storage room for food was at the side and Huang Lei went towards it and started his work. He feed the horses which took him hours and then he started cleaning the place which took him even longer. By the time he finished, the day had already reached his end and the darkness had started taking over the world.

Cautiously and carefully, Wang Lei was reading letters of complaints from the public for which he needed to find a solution when Cheng announced the presence of his majestic, Empressand his wife's Xin Ying's presence. He put away the letters as the door was opened and Xin Ying entered inside.

She was looking as beautiful as she always look but with a cold and hateful gaze towards Wang Lei. She greeted as Wang Lei stood up in front of her.

'How I can help you?' Wang Lei asked as Xin Ying glared towards him.

'I asked you to fulfil your duties as a husband.' Xin Ying asked

'I came to your room last night but you were sleeping. I did not want to disturb you so I came back.' Wang Lei replied truthfully. Yesterday after he told Chen Ju that he promised Xin Ying his night, he actually meant it. He went to her room to fulfil his duties but she was already sleeping so he came back.

'Lie.' Xin Ying screamed angrily

'Why would I lie?' Wang Lei replied back as he tried to remain calm to handle the situation.

'Because you never have an intention to sleep with me. I am also not dying to be in your arms. The only reason I am doing this is to give children to my and your father.' Xin Ying screamed hurtfully

'I know because if you desire to be in my arms then you would not have slept that easily while waiting for me...you did not even wait for me.' Wang Lei spat back coldly as they glared towards each other.

'You think I am blind or can't understand anything. I can feel the hate you have for me in your heart and I wonder what is the reason for it?'Wang Lei asked and in return, he heard her scoff as she spoke up

'Wow...what a surprise. A cold-hearted and emotionless person like you can feel something...even if it's hated. I thought you are incapable to have any emotion or feeling.' He wonders does she think he is an animal? Why does she think he feels nothing?

'What is your reason?'

'Have you seen yourself and yet you ask for a reason.' Xin Ying replied bitterly and as much Wang Lei wanted to not get affected he still did. Was he that bad for no one to even think about loving him? Don't he deserve someone to love him selflessly?

'Do you love someone else?' Wang Lei asked as they were staring at each other and Xin Ting remembered Huang Dewei as tears started forming in her eyes. She said nothing but Wang Le got his answer.

'Someone so warm heart and the lovely man loved me with his all heart and now I am stuck with someone like you. I hate you and I hate my life. Just do your duty and free me.' Xin Ying screamed as tears started coming out from her eyes and she ripped open her robe.

Her top half was exposed as Wang Lei gaze fell on her white skin. He was shocked looked towards her tears red eyes and then looked away guilty because it all happened because of him.

'This is not the right time or place. Go back to your room.' Wang Lei said

'Just let me give you one son to be next Emperor and then you never have to see my face again.' Xin Ying said helplessly as she cleaned away her tears and Wang Lei looked towards her

'You don't have to come under your or my father's pressure. Take your time to heal your heart and come to me when you are ready. We just got married so we can take the time. Tell your father we are trying for the child and I will handle my father.' Wang Lei said calmly and seriously then he moved and put back her robe on her. He tired back her robe then walked towards his clothing rank and came back with one of the robes.

'Hang in your room and show it your father as proof that I was there in your room and we have been together.' Wang Lei said as he gave her his robe which she took as she stares towards him surprised but she said nothing in response.

'Now go to your chamber and rest.' Wang Lei ordered her as he looked away and Xin Ying silently came out. Wang Lei sighed as he sat back down. Wang Lei's mother died when he was young. His father had loads of mistresses and sleep around with loads of women and men. Loads of rich men sleep around with anyone they wanted regardless of their gender or age.
