《Haunting Me (A Completed Steamy, Romance)EDITING》Part 51

I have everything in the world I ever wanted. After finishing our night of... shit, I lost count of how many times we had sex. I'm like that seventeen-year-old kid again, and I can't get enough of Joey.

Josephine Engle, it has a nice ring to it.

I have to get her a ring this week, but I want to talk to my son first and get his permission.

The ring may not be as nice as the one she once wore, but I'm guessing she will love anything I can afford, which isn't much.

She wants to bring the ranch back to life. I hope dipshit, and her greedy ass father, left her financially set, because I can't afford to finance her ranch. Shit, on top of that, she wants another kid, I may need a second job.

As long as I get to hold her this close every night, I'll be a happy man, no matter the price. I'm going to miss Jake, but we will have time together.

I looked down at her as she slept, and kissed her head. I'm way too excited to sleep, everything I ever needed is sleeping in my arms.

"Why aren't you sleeping?" She asked in a groggy voice.

"I'm afraid you'll disappear if I close my eyes." I said.

She looked up at me. "Well, I'm too damn sore to move too fast."

I chuckled. "Believe it or not, so am I. We may have broken it."

She laughed. "That won't last long with those Engle genes, apparently."

I smiled. "You're right."

"Oh my God, we have another boy to worry about." She covered her face.

"We have a while," I assured her.

I ran my fingers up and down her arm until she fell back to sleep, and by some miracle, I followed soon after.

I woke to the sound of the shower, and hopped up with full energy and joined her. "Nope, it's not broken." She laughed, as she looked down at me.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

"I'm perfect."

Two hours later, we made it to the restaurant to eat breakfast. "Will Jake be okay? I hope we aren't moving too fast for him." She was concerned.

"Jake is going to be so happy. He looks up to Mason and calls you the angel lady." I said.

"That's cute. I was hoping you would help me with something this week." She took a bite of her pancake.

"Sure."

"While you were gone, I got my license, and I need to pick out a car." She said.

I cleared my throat. "What kind of car?"

"A convertible of course. I'm not sure about the different brands and safety. Oh, maybe we should get an SUV too, so we can run the kids around."

"Joey, I hope you understand what you're getting into with me. You've had this kind of luxuries your whole life, I'm just a cop, and I can't support that lifestyle." I said with regret.

"Are you serious, Hudson? Did you think I was asking you to buy a car for me?" She laughed, but I don't think it's funny.

"I don't know how well they left you, but I can't compete."

"Restitution, Hudson." She said.

"What?"

"We got restitution for all the years we suffered. We have enough money, that neither of us has to work again." She said.

"We?"

"Are you going to be my husband?" She asked.

"Yes"

"Then what I have is ours, and what I have, is ten figures." She said.

I started coughing and couldn't breathe.

"Are you okay?" She asked.

I shook my head no and kept coughing. She stood up, and I pulled her back down. "Did you say ten figures?"

"I own half my father's company, and all of the Beaumont's. I have an acting CEO, and Rob is taking care of all that for me. He owns the second half of our father's company. I'd expect he will be retiring." She said.

"Holy shit, Joey." I lowered my voice. "I won't have you paying for my son and my debts. I'm not retiring, but I sure as hell feel better." I said.

She smiled. "It's not just my restitution, I'm not the only one that suffered. Your job isn't safe, and we literally suffered to be together again. I can't lose you." She said.

"I love my work, Joey, and I worked hard to get here. I can't give up my job." I said.

"I understand, but I don't want you to worry about money again, and once we are married, Jake is mine too. Don't think he won't get what our children get. I don't ever want him to feel like he isn't as special as our children." She said.

I have never loved anyone, like I love this woman.

"I love you."

She winked. "I love you more."

I settled the hotel bill, and realized Victor must have dropped her off, and I was thankful.

"Should we get Jake first or go to the ranch?" She asked.

"We should talk to the kids, that way they're prepared for an eight-year-old." I said.

"I suppose you're right." She said.

"I have to go to London soon." She says quickly.

"Why?"

"I have to settle our affairs and pack up the house, I need to go before school starts. Can you come?" She asked.

"I can't get the time off. I've been off for a month, and I'm already worried about not getting the time for Vegas." I said.

"I understand, I can actually send my attorney."

"Are you sure?" I asked.

I'm really not fond of the idea of her traveling so far away, I'm scared she won't return.

"I'm not ready to be away from you, and if you can't go, I don't want to go." She said.

Thank God!
