Joey is amazing, and I took every peek I could at those legs and at that beautiful face.

She told me about the twins first steps, and their first day of school, which gave me the perfect chance to look at the love of my life. We still never finished our talk earlier, and I admire her ability to pick herself up and put her worries aside tonight. It tells me she doesn't care so much about what happens to the prick, I'm sure she now wants him dead.

We arrived at the lounge, and the horror delivered upon me when we arrived, was undesirable to say the least.

"Let's party bitches! Oh shit, there's my fucking brother!"

I heard Joey laugh.

"Joey!" She ran up and hugged her, and Joey just seemed happy and not horrified as I am when I see my sister..

"Chloe! I was hoping I'd see you soon!"

"Damn mama, you're fucking gorgeous!" Chloe stood back and looked her over. "I can't believe my brother had that ass once upon a time! Unless he's having it again?" She wiggled her eyebrows.

"Christ, Chloe!" I said.

"Come here, big brother. Hugs all around." She hugged me, and I whispered in her ear. "Take it easy tonight."

"Come on Joey, let's get you a drink." Chloe pulled her away, which gave me the perfect opportunity to look at that very ass.

"I can't believe you came with her. I thought you were supposed to be getting closure. She's married, Hudson, don't let her lead you on."

I looked next to me. "Julie, it's really not your business. Don't you have a kid to go deliver or something?"

"Three more weeks." She said. "I'm just trying to help, Hudson."

"Well, you're not, so please just take it easy on her tonight. You have no idea what you're talking about."

I looked over, and saw Chloe already had Joey on the dancefloor. "Damn dude, that's the girl?"

Matt stood next to me. "That's her, and did you forget your wife's leash?"

He laughed. "She chewed her way off. So, tell me more about this woman."

"She's amazing and always has been amazing. That's the best way to describe her, honestly."

"She's married?"

"That's her story to tell for now," I answered.

"Be careful, I can see now why Chloe said she ripped your heart out. How the hell did you ever recover from that shit?"

"I didn't."

"Hudson!" I heard my name yelled out in a deep voice, and saw Joel with Doug.

"Let's go see the guys." I said, and Matt followed.

"Amber is gone now," Joel said, and I saw she joined Chloe and Joey.

"Amber is off the leash tonight." He said.

Doug laughs. "Yep, but mine is miserable, so we won't stay long. Speaking of mine, I hope she hasn't given Joey a hard time." He said.

"Joey can handle her," I said.

"I wish to hell she'd just butt out, but she's still hurt that her best friend disappeared."

"She just doesn't know the story, and I hope she doesn't say more than she will regret." I said.

Joel laughed. "That woman could someday be my kid's mother-in-law. Could you imagine? My kid has it bad for her daughter. I gave him a box of condoms before he left tonight to take her out. She's a hot little number."

"She's not that kind of girl, and I swear as God is my witness, I'll kill the little fucker!" I snapped.

They all gave me blank stares. "What the fuck, man?" Joel said.

"I just don't want more stress on Joey." Dammit!

"You act like she's yours or something." They all laughed.

"What's so funny?" Amber asked, as she sat down.

"I gave Riley condoms tonight. He's taking Joey's girl out, and Hudson is like a guard dog. I teased he's like the girl's dad or something."

Amber's jaw fell. "Joel, be careful what you say. Joey is going through a rough time, and Hudson has gotten close to the kids."

Amber knows.

"Hey, there's Tiffany." Amber changed the subject.

"You mean, Timmy?" Doug said, and they all laughed at me.

"You're all assholes." I took a swig of my beer.

"What's funny?" Joey came and sat next to me.

"Timmy just arrived," Doug said with a laugh.

"Who?" She must not remember.

"Tiffany." Joel reminded her, and she hid her face.

"I can't believe I did that."

"Why did you do that?" Amber asked.

"She was putting the moves on the hottest guy to ever come to our school, I couldn't let that happen."

Hottest guy?

"You already had his underwear!" Amber laughed.

"What?" Matt asked, with a laugh.

"Nothing, just one of the girls dares. Don't feel bad, Hudson. The girls dared her to kiss me in eighth grade. Joey stole my first kiss, and they all laughed at me." Joel said.

"That was gross, Joel. You slobbered all over me." Joey laughed, and so did everyone else.

"Some things never change," Amber added, and everyone busted out laughing.

"What are you talking about? She was dared to sneak into my window, and ended up in my parent's room." Doug said.

"Yeah, Julie told me the wrong room on purpose, and what I saw traumatized me for life. Your dad was humping your mom!" Joey said.

"Oh shit!" We all lost it then, and Doug sat back and crossed his arms.

"I was grounded for two weeks! Thanks, fuckers!"

Amber asked Joel to dance, and I looked over at Joey. Maybe this is my chance to have her in my arms, just for a little while.
