I helped her get dressed, then gave her one more kiss. "Let's get you home." She hopped off me, and I scooted back behind the wheel.

I started the car and headed back in the same direction we were going, then reached over and held her hand. "Turn right at the next stop sign." She said.

I did, and we drove a few more minutes. "You were going to walk this far out at night?" I asked, and she shrugged her shoulders.

"My car's in the shop, it's been there forever." She said.

"Want me to take a look?" I don't like the idea of her walking these roads at night.

"Sure, turn left at the fork."

She seems nervous. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm just scared you'll think differently of me once you see where I live." She said.

"That's silly, it's not like I live in a mansion." I said.

"Well, that's the problem, my dad isn't well liked in these parts." She said.

I saw a massive ranch come into view. Maybe her parents are ranch hands, and she lives in a cottage or shack.

"Turn here." I turned and was met by an iron gate. "Press that button."

"Vincent, open up, it's me." She yelled.

"Yes, ma'am." A voice said back.

What the fuck?

"See, you have that look on your face." She said.

"I'm just confused, does your family work here?" It seems like their driveway goes on forever.

"My dad does sometimes, but no, he owns it." She said.

"You work in a diner, and you were walking home. Why?" I'm baffled.

"I pay my own way, Hudson. The kids at school hated me, until they finally let me in. My father isn't just an oilman and rancher, he's the biggest employer in the area. He also claims eminent domain over their land for oil, he's not a good man." She said.

She looked ashamed.

"Can I tell you a secret, and you can't tell anyone?" I put my car in park.

"Yeah"

"My father is a CIA operative, and this is my third high school. Whenever he closes a big case, he moves us for our safety." I said.

"Seriously?" She looked like she was going to laugh in disbelief.

"Yeah, and I plan to take his same career path." I said.

She looked at me, and I could see it finally clicked. "Your father is never home."

"He comes home about a week out of the month, it's hard on Mom, but he has an important job." I said.

"So, you believe I'm not just a spoiled brat?" She asked.

"Well, I kind of suspected, but you worked in a diner, you had me fooled." I chuckled.

"He's not a good man. I have my freedom until I graduate, then its over." She said.

"What do you mean until you graduate?"

She looked down at her hands, and a tear fell off her cheek. "Hey, what's going on?"

She looked up at me. "Nothing, I better go inside, I'm sure he's wondering what I'm doing."

"He won't hurt you?" I asked.

"Of course not, he's good to me. Just strict about my future, I'll see you tomorrow, okay?" She asked.

I leaned over and gave her one last kiss. "Goodnight."

"Good night, Hudson."

I went to walk her up, but she stopped me. "He will talk your ear off. I'll see you tomorrow."

I watched as she walked inside her house, and couldn't believe everything I just learned. As I drove home, just the thought of her soft skin and her scent drive me crazy. Dammit, I'm getting tired of all the cold showers.

I pulled in at home and saw my dads car in the driveway, perfect timing.

I walked in the house and found him and mom in the kitchen. "Late night? I'm guessing a new girl already?" Dad walked up and pulled me into a hug.

"I missed you, Son."

"You too, Dad."

"So? Who is she?" They both stared at me.

I smiled. "Joey, she works at the diner."

"Invite her over for dinner, I'd love to meet the girl who sneaks in my son's window." Mom said.

"What?"

"I'm CIA son, you think we don't know what happens under this roof?"

"Damn"

"You're nearly a grown man, we aren't worried. You could be a gentleman, and at least let her in the front door." Dad chuckled and patted my back.

"But no sex under this roof." Mom said, and Dad just laughed and walked away.

Mom looked at me. "I'm too young to be a grandmother."

"Because our home is the only place he could get laid?" Dad yelled in from his office and laughed.

"You heard me, young man." She said, and walked upstairs.

Wow, just wow.

"Dad, can I talk to you?"

"Sure, Son. If it's about sex, all I can say is wrap it up. There are condoms in my dresser drawer."

"Are you shitting me? I don't need to hear that shit." I said, and he just laughed.

"Maybe you'd make a better sailor than an agent with that mouth." He said.

I sat down in front of his desk. "You're no virgin, so this isn't about sex. What's up?" He asked.

"Damn, is there anything you don't know?" I asked

"Well, you were 16, and lost your virginity..."

"Stop! Fine, I get it. You know everything, and that's what I want to talk to you about." I said.

He laughed. "You'll understand someday. What's up?"

"Can you take a look at someone for me? I'm worried about Joey."

"Sure, what's the name?"

"Now?"

"Yeah, why not?" He clicked the mouse of his computer.

"I'm not sure of his first name, but it's Josephine Lattire's father."

"He lives here?"

"Yeah."

"Lattire...Robinson Lattire? Let's see."

His eyes grew large.

"Dammit, you should be worried. He's been on the radar for ages. It looks like his wife disappeared ten years ago, and he is linked to some pretty bad people in Mexico. Hudson, you better stay away from this man." He said.

"She's my girlfriend. What am I supposed to do?" I asked.

He turned to me. "Is she worth it?"

"Worth what?"

"Crossing this man?" He asked.

"How would I cross him?"

"Touching his only daughter. He also has a son." He clicked on the computer. "His son is off the grid. What the hell?" Dad dug a little deeper. "He's one of ours, his son is an agent. That's weird, he's 28 years old. How old is Josephine?"

"Seventeen." I answered.

"Okay, looks like the same mother. If you were smart, you'd let her go, but you're not smart, like your father." He pointed upstairs.

"Mom?"

"It's amazing how far we go for a hot piece of tail." He smirked.

"Dad, you're a sick bastard, you know that, right? She's my mom!"

He shrugged. "She's still as smoking hot as the day I met her, even after carrying your ass."

"You're sick."

He grinned like he's enjoying this shit.

"You know it's getting worse, right?" I asked.

He sighed. "That's why I'm home, I took leave for a few months."

"Chloe is out of control, she told me to shut my cumdumpster the other day." I said.

"You're what?" He gave me a disgusted look.

"My mouth," I answered.

"What kind of sick shit have you been getting into?" He asked, and I picked up his scotch and took a drink.

"Your problem, not mine." I set it back down on his desk.

"You could at least get your own next time." He said.

I shook my head. "I can't believe the President lets you work for him."

"Ha! That man works for me." He got up and poured more scotch.

"Good luck talking to mom about her drinking and pill problem." I pointed at his glass.

"Thanks, I'll need it." He took a drink, while completely clueless as to why I pointed at his glass.

"Keep an eye on Lattire for me, will you? I just want to make sure she's safe." I asked.
