After the argument with Rose's dad, I was worried that he would really forbid me to see Rose but luckily he didn't.
He probably realized that it would hurt Rose a lot too and didn't want that. What didn't happen though, was Rose calling me that night so I could read a story to her.
Time passed and I found my routine.
I would go to work, then back to my apartment and then to Scarlett's house to continue working on the treehouse. It's going pretty great honestly and it won't be long anymore, until I can finally show it to Rose.
I wanted to wait until I finished building it before letting her see it.
Therefore, she knows nothing about the process and for once, her puppy dog eyes couldn't fool me and I stayed strong and didn't tell her anything else apart from the fact that it's going good.
When I get home after that, it's kinda late most of the time and I just make dinner and read a little or chat with Scar before going to sleep.
I had a long talk with her about how we're going to manage traveling to LA, since Rose isn't a fan of planes. And even though I assured her it's okay, Scarlett said she doesn't want me to handle Rose on an endlessly long train ride to LA with an overnight stop in between.
We don't want to make Rose uncomfortable or invalid her fear but we decided on flying there.
My eyes grew big when Scar said she would hire a private jet to fly me and Rose over.
I instantly declined, telling her it's way too expensive but she waved it off and said that it will be better for Rose.
Then we don't have to deal with a bunch of other people around us and I can fully concentrate on Rose and comforting here.
Besides, the jet allows her to move around during the flight, which may distract her from the fact that we're flying.
We also talked pretty long about the money the flight will cost.
Scarlett didn't tell me the amount but I can imagine it to be very high and it feels weird that she spends so much money on me.
But she assured me that she can afford it with no problem and that it is also for Rose, so it's not only for me.
That actually helped me a little bit but it still made me overthink.
I know I can't afford to pay the flight but I wanna pay at least something, so Scar and I agreed on me paying for the total costs of food and drinks, which are set beforehand, so I know what's coming. The price is fair and I can afford it.
It also makes me feel better because I know I paid for something as well.
I told Rose during one of our swim lessons about the flight and also assured her that I will be with her the whole time and that she doesn't have to worry about anything because her mom will hire the best pilots and we will be safe. That seemed to ease her a little and she didn't discuss the topic any further.
I could tell she was still a bit nervous but I did my best to comfort her while giving her space to process.
Luckily, I was able to get the time off that we will spend in LA but I promised to respond to emails in case I am needed.
Since Rose will be spending over a week with me and Scarlett, her dad wanted to spend the weekends before that with his daughter, which meant that she wouldn't stay at my place over one of the weekends.

It annoyed me a bit, especially because Scarlett told me that Rose wasn't too happy about it but it was okay. She will stay over the night before we're headed to the airport, because it's easier.
It's currently Tuesday, two days before we're headed to LA and it's pouring outside, so I wasn't in the mood to go to Scarlett's to work on the treehouse. It is pretty much done anyway, the only thing that's left to do is painting it and that's something I can do another day, maybe tomorrow if the weather allows it.
I got comfortable on the couch and decided to watch Avengers: Endgame. Only this movie and the Black Widow movie and I saw every Marvel movie Scarlett was in.
I also have to say that I got interested in the whole MCU thing, so after I watched those movies, I will catch up on the other ones.
With a bowl of popcorn in my hands, I am ready to start the movie.
I admire my beautiful girlfriend that went back to red hair and only her tips are blond now, it looks amazing on her, just as everything else.
When I get a text, I look at my phone and smile when I see it's Scarlett, asking me what I'm doing.
I send her a picture of the laptop with the movie and see the three dots appear.
She asks me where I'm at and I scrunch my eyebrows a little together but lean forward and look at the timeline, texting her the exact minute.
Her question confuses me a bit but I don't think anything further about it. She wishes me fun and I thank her before putting my phone down again.
The movie goes on and the bowl of popcorn gets empty, so I place it on the coffee table.
My girlfriend doesn't have a lot of screentime in this movie, so I am happy when I see her again, sitting in a starship with Clint, headed to a planet. When they arrive, it reads 'Vormir'.
They climb up the hill and talk to the guard or something and when he tells them that one of them has to sacrifice themselves, my mouth falls open.
"Not Natasha." I whisper and lean forward a bit.
They start to discuss and fight and I nibble on my lip, a little tense.
When Clint jumps, I'm almost relieved but yell out when she jumps after him, hooking him to the cliff. My bottom lip pushes out a little and I feel my eyes starting to get teary, this can't be the end.
"It's okay." She says and the first tear drops from my eyes.
Clint lets her go and I cry out, clutching the blanket.
Her dead body is shown and I can't help it but to cry. I press pause when the scene is cut to process, tears rolling down my cheeks.
As if on cue, my phone rings and I pick it up to see it's Scarlett, so I take the phone.
"It should have been Clint." I sob and slouch back into the couch.
"I know, baby." She says softly. I wipe a few tears away but new ones come.
"I wasn't ready for you to die. You deserved so much better! You deserved to have some kind of family." I cry and sniffle.
"Natasha did deserve better but she did it for humanity." She tries to comfort me.
"I don't care. She was too amazing to die." I disagree and slowly the tears stop and only light sobs shake my body anymore.

"That is very true. It was a sad scene to film." She recalls a memory and I nod, grabbing a tissue and wiping my face.
"Why are you calling?" I ask, remembering I just started crying when taking the call.
"I know when the scene comes up and knew you'd be upset so I calculated when you'd watch it to be your emotional support." She explains and I almost cry again at how cute she is.
"You're so sweet, I swear." I sniffle a bit and she smiles softly. "But you shouldn't have died."
"I know, baby. But there is a whole movie about me you can still watch." She coos and I nod slowly, she's right.
"Okay, fine." I agree and she chuckles a bit.
"Are you feeling better now?" She asks softly and I nod a little.
"Still not happy that-"
I'm interrupted by my phone slipping out of my hand and falling onto my face. I curse before whining a bit and picking it up.
"Are you okay?" Scar asks concerned and I shake my head.
"My phone just fell onto my face and with that I sent you cliff jumping virtually, just like Nat." I sob once more before pulling myself together a little.
"It's okay, my sweet angel, I am still alive." She assures me and I look at her. "I know you're pretty worked up about the movie but you are so adorable."
I smile a little at her words and wipe the last tear away.
"If your face starts to bruise, please put ice on it." She advices me and I nod, sitting up more so the phone won't hit me again if it drops.
"Alright, I will try to watch the rest now." I tell her and she smiles.
"You go, sweetheart, you can do it." She encourages me and I smile weakly before we say goodbye and hang up.
To sum it up, I cried a few more times during this movie, basically anytime someone said the name Natasha.
I let the credits roll and try to contain myself again, that was a painful movie to watch, not gonna lie.
And to help myself handle it, I decide to watch Black Widow, since I need to see more of my girlfriend in this iconic role.
I text her that I'll be watching her movie now and she sends me back a smiley face and wishes me a lot of fun.
I cuddle back into the blanket when the movie starts to play.
Well, maybe I underestimated it a little bit because within the first twenty minutes, I already cried two times.
But I also noticed Flo's name in the credits and remember that she was in this as well.
I watch the movie, my eyes glued to my girlfriend.
When a blond appears, I almost don't recognize Flo but after a few more seconds, I am sure it's her. Not gonna lie, the scene where she runs down the house wall is pretty hot.
I watch her fight but soon her scene is over and it's back to Scar.
So far, I am loving this movie even if the beginning was a little sad.
I hold my breath when she enters the apartment with Yelena inside and get slight chills when I hear her Russian accent.
She told me she did a pretty good one and now I have to admit, she was right. I watch further and when they have a short conversation in Russian, I get chills again.
Shit, my girlfriend really sounds hot when speaking Russian.
After a while I pause the movie to send Flo a message, which she responds to pretty quickly.
Y/n: I have to admit, that you really did an amazing accent in Black Widow.
Flo: Ha, told you so. It was fun to do it as well.
Y/n: And it for sure is attractive ;)
Flo: Well, can't argue with that ;) You're still with Scarlett?
Y/n: FLO! Yes I am and we are very happy together.
Flo: What? I had to try, you know that. XD
Y/n: Fair enough and I am flattered, so thank you XD
Flo: Maybe after you finished the movie, you'll change your mind.
Y/n: You seem pretty full of yourself XD
Flo: Oh, I am because I know my character. But have fun watching, I'm glad you seem to enjoy it.
Y/n: I do :D
I smile and put my phone down, it is always fun to interact with Flo. Even though she is always a bit flirty, I know she would never take me from Scarlett because she has such a sweet soul and is only doing this for fun.
I continue the movie and it's really great and definitely one of my favorites so far. Well, I can't deny that it may be biased by all the screentime my girlfriend got but I also like the story.
Due to all my movie watching, it got pretty late and I get ready for bed before snuggling into bed.
Only two more nights until I'm reunited with Scarlett.
The next day drags a little because I can't wait to go home, pack my suitcase and wait for Rose.
When she arrives, she is a mix between excited and nervous.
Her dad and I stare daggers at each other for a second before I take Rose up to my apartment.
Our flight will be at 10 am and just to be sure we have enough time to go through security and everything, we will be there at 8:30 am.
The drive there will take around twenty minutes, depending on the traffic. So, to get ready and everything, we have to get up around 7 am, which isn't too early but with all the nervousness and excitement, it probably will still be stressful.
And I am right, it is.
Rose is a little fuzzy at first, still tired and it mixes with her being nervous.
I understand her behavior but it is still a bit more to handle.
Scarlett called for security, so we won't have to fight with paparazzi and luckily there are barely any and the few that are there, are hold off by security.
I give our suitcases away at the check in and navigate us through security. Luckily, it all went well and now I only have to keep Rose calm.
She is more awake now and curious to explore the airport.
So, I let her pull me towards different stores to look at things.
I buy her a candy bar for take off, so she has something to eat and will release the pressure on her ears automatically. When the times nears, I lead her to from where the jet will take off.
We show our ID's to the woman in front of the tunnel that leads to the plane and Rose holds my hand tighter.
I rub my thumb over her knuckles to comfort her.
In advanced, I asked to enter the jet a little bit before we would take off, so Rose could get comfortable first.
I'm literally blown away when I enter the jet. I've actually never been on a plane before, let alone a private jet.
I look around the spacious room with seats with seatbelts but also two sofas, a mini bar, a TV and a table. This is really something else.
A little sign tells us where the bathroom is and I am incredibly impressed.
Rose also seems to be impressed and marvels at everything, her backpack already on one of the seats. I wait until she looked at everything, before I reach out my hand for her.
"Come here, Rosie, I have a little surprise for you." I say and her eyes grow big and she comes running to me, taking my hand.
I carefully lead her further to the front until we reach the cockpit and our captain smiles at us. Rose looks around and at all the buttons, her eyes growing huge.
"Why are there so many buttons?" She asks and takes a step forward, not letting go of my hand though.
"They are all needed for different parts of the plane." The captain explains and Rose looks at him, eying him a little skeptical at first but then smiling.
"Who are you?" She asks curiously and I smile a little to myself as she tugs on my hand to step closer.
"I am your captain for today, I will fly you over to LA." He introduces himself kindly and Rose nods.
"Have you flown a plane before?" She asks and I can sense her worry, so I kneel down next to her and wrap one arm around her and she instantly leans back against my body.
"Indeed I have, many, many times. I actually lost count but I think I've flown over 200 planes so far." He answers and Rose nods impressed before turning to me.
"I think he will fly good." She whispers and I can sense some of her nervousness falter. In my peripheral, I can see the captain grinning a bit, having heard Rose's whisper but not minding it.
"I think so too." I agree with her and she turns back around.
"Would you like to sit in the co-pilot's seat?" He offers and Rose looks to me and I nod encouragingly at her.
She nods and I lift her into the seat.
The captain shows her how to use the stirring wheel and shows her different buttons and explains what they do. And then he also explains why flying is a very safe way of traveling and Rose listens intently.
I pick her up again when the co-pilot arrives and thank the captain for his time before leading Rose back to the main room.
"That was so cool!" She says and flops down onto her seat, pushing her backpack to the ground. I settle down next to her and buckle up.
"It really was!" I agree and fasten her seatbelt as well because we will start now.
"Maybe flying isn't so scary." She decides and I smile a little, that's what I hoped for when I asked the captain to show her the cockpit.
A flight attended tells us that we will start now and quickly explains where the emergency exits are and so on.
Rose seems occupied with Mr. Mouve, who she got out of her backpack. A tiny bit of nervousness still seems to be present but I can't blame her, I am nervous as well.
I offer her my hand as we start to roll and she takes it, squeezing it a little.
"You know, some people compare flying to diving some times." I start and Rose looks at me, tilting her head in interest.
I continue to talk about this, more rambling than actually thinking about what I'm saying but it does it's job and distracts Rose from the take off.
While I talk, she looks at me and eats her candy bar, mesmerized by my words. And when I end, the flight attendant comes back and tells us we can unbuckle the seatbelts now and move freely around the jet.
Rose pulls me to a window, holding my hand tight as she looks out of it and whispers a 'wow'. I admire the shapes that the clouds have from up here and for a while we just look out the window.
"They look like cotton candy." Rose giggles and I ruffle her hair a little.
"They do, don't they?" I agree and she nods.
When it becomes boring to look out the window, we go to the table and play a few rounds of a board game we packed. Both our backpacks are mainly filled with things to keep us entertained on this six-hour flight.
The game keeps us occupied for a good amount of time and just as we are packing it away, the flight attendant asks us what we would like to have for lunch and Rose choses pasta, which I agree with. Until lunch is ready, we watch the clouds some more.
After lunch, we get comfortable on one of the sofas and read Harry Potter together.
Slowly but surely, Rose gets tired and snuggles into my lap before falling asleep. I wrap one arm securely around her and grab my own book that I put in reach, knowing she'd take a nap sooner or later.
She sleeps almost an hour, which I am glad about because since LA is three hours behind, she might has to stay up a bit later tonight, so she won't be jetlagged for too long.
The next, awake hour, we spend drawing but since she didn't want to color in her book, we draw one of our infamous underwater worlds. And then another one that she wants to give to Scarlett as a present.
We then have a little goofy selfie session and Rose has a lot of fun pulling funny faces and looking at the pictures afterwards.
It warms my heart to see her this way and it seems as if she doesn't mind that we are in the air.
We have a bathroom break and then I let her watch a few episodes of her favorite show while I go through my gallery and smile at the pictures we took, deleting the ones we have double or are too blurry.
The last hour of the flight, we have a dance party and Rose insists on teaching me a dance she learned in school. It is a lot of fun and she giggles when she watches me before joining it.
Eventually, we have to buckle up again and Rose has another snack while we slowly land. She still holds my hand but she doesn't seem to be nervous anymore, which makes me pretty proud.
We land and when the captain comes to say goodbye, Rose tells him he did good and he smiles brightly and thanks her.
We leave the jet and I can instantly tell that it is warmer in LA than in New York, good thing I packed t-shirts.
Rose looks around for Scarlett but I explain that she will meet us at the house, so there will be less paparazzi and Rose goes with it, not liking paparazzi at all.
We wait for our suitcases and when no one looks, I lift Rose onto the conveyer belt, letting her sit there for a few meters before I lift her off again and she giggles at my goofiness.
"I'm not a suitcase, Mama." She giggles and I pretend to think.
"Ah, shoot, you're right, they probably won't put a stamp on you and pack you into an airplane." I say, making Rose laugh even more.
I kiss the top of her head and wrap one arm around her shoulders, keeping her close.
