Pov y/n

"The kitchen is already built in and so is everything in the bathroom and the living room. The bedrooms are empty though, so you'd have to buy furniture for those rooms but the rest should be there." The woman says and turns around to look at me and Scarlett. "Any other questions?"

I look around the living room and shake my head.

"Not at the moment, thank you." I reply and the woman smiles at me.

"Alright, I'll give you some time to think and will be back in a little while, okay?" She suggests and I nod. She smiles kindly before leaving the apartment. I turn to look at Scarlett who looks around.

"What do you think?" I ask, interested in her opinion. She lets her eyes look over everything once more before they settle on me.

"I like it." She says and I smile happily and nod.

"That's great, I like it as well." I agree and she takes my hand squeezing it lightly.

"That's the most important, you know? It doesn't matter if I like it or not, it only matters if you like it." She says and holds eye contact with me. I sigh a little and nod.

"I know but still, I want you to be comfortable when you visit or stay over." I explain and play with her fingers.

"You're cute, do you know that?" She asks and I blush a little, which she smiles at and kisses my cheeks.

"I still love making you blush." She mumbles and I blush even more, a small grin on her face. I look away to contain myself.

"I think I'll look through the rooms once more before I decide." I say and she nods.

I found multiple apartments that I liked and applied to all of them but not all of them answered. We already visited two others and were finally able to look at this one, we had to wait a while until there was time.

The other two were also very nice but this one just seems better, it gives me a better vibe. It may not be the cheapest but I can afford it without having to cut back on other things, thanks to my new salary.

It is also the closest to Scarlett's house and near to my work, so basically perfect.

I lead Scarlett back to the entrance and look through the first door on the right. Just like in my old apartment, there's a bathroom that contains everything need. I walk further down the little hallway and look into the room on the left side.

It's empty and the bigger one of the two spare rooms. This would be my bedroom, for which I would have to buy furniture but I can afford that as well, I saved up some money since I knew I had to move.

Scarlett lets go of my hand and walks to the window to look out of it. It looks down onto a street but there aren't a lot of cars driving in this street, so it shouldn't bother me too much. I walk to the second spare room next to the bathroom. It's smaller but I like it.

I let my eyes look around the room and how I could design it and smile, it would be great. Scarlett pulls me out of my thoughts when she rests her chin on my shoulder, looking into the room as well.

"What are you gonna do with a spare room?" She asks and wraps her arms around me. I lean my head a bit against hers.

"You'll see." I say secretly and she pouts but nods and kisses my cheek.

We turn to the open kitchen on our right. It's small and has a little kitchen isle with barstools. There's not really more to say, it's a kitchen.

On our left side, there's a living room with a couch and an armchair, facing a little TV.

On the right side of the living room, there are two almost floor to ceiling windows, looking down onto a little parking lot. On the left side, there's a bookshelf and a sideboard.

I'd say the apartment is all in all a bit smaller than my last one but only a little bit but more expensive since it's in Manhattan. But in my opinion it's pretty perfect and I hope I can sign the contract today. I know, there are probably other people, wanting the apartment too but maybe, if I sign the contract today, I am quicker.

"I think I'll rent it." I tell Scarlett and she smiles happily at me.

"That's great, baby, I hope you'll get it." She says and hooks her arm around mine, placing a kiss on my cheek.

Only a few minutes later, the woman comes back and smiles kindly.

"What do you think?" She asks and I notice she looks a little longer at Scarlett, before turning her attention to me.

She was really excited when Scarlett showed up, recognizing her but after she got a picture, she calmed down and got professional again.

At first it seemed like she thought Scarlett was gonna rent or even buy this place but then she realized that I'm considering it and turned her attention to me.

"I love it." I say honestly and the woman nods, listing off a few key details. I listen patiently, even though she already told us. When she's finished, I nod.

"I would like to rent it." I say and she smiles a little wider.

"A very good choice. Towards the end of the month, you could move in and live here when February begins, that would be the first month you live her and pay rent. There's also a caution you have to pay before moving in but I assume you already read that on the internet." She adds and I nod, I did indeed.

"Good. There are a few more showings this month, do you want to wait until they're over to sign the contract or are you already sure?" She asks and I take a glance at Scarlett, who smiles encouragingly.

"I am already sure." I answer and the woman nods.

"Alright. I'll cancel the showings then and take it off the internet on Monday. I don't have a contract with me right now, would you be able to come back tomorrow? Then I'll have the contract and you can sign." She suggests and I nod in agreement.

"That sounds good." I confirm and she smiles again, reaching out her hand for me to take. I do so and we shake hands.

"See you tomorrow then." She says.

"Yes, until tomorrow." I reply and smile, excitement rushing through my body.

The woman also reaches her hand out to Scar, who shakes her hand as well. We head out and as soon as we're out of the building, I start to bounce up and down and cheer.

"I got the apartment!" I tell Scar, even though she was there with me. She bounces with me though and pulls me into a hug.

"Congratulations, baby!" She says and we kiss but it breaks quickly because I'm smiling way too hard.

Rose tells us everything she and her friend did today, after we picked her up from her playdate. Her cheeks are adorably pink from playing outside and she looks super cute in her snowsuit. There's no snow but it's freezingly cold and that suit holds her warm when she plays outside.

We pull up to the drive way and get out of the car. Inside we get out of our outdoor clothes and I start to make hot chocolate for all of us to warm up.

Rose watches me while telling me about how she played pirates with her friend. Scarlett ruffles Rose's hair a bit and puts away the few groceries we bought on our way to Rose's friend.

When the hot chocolate is ready, I pour it into three cups and hand them out to Scarlett and Rose and join them on the barstools. We drink mostly in silence and I let the hot chocolate warm me from the inside.

Even though we didn't spend a lot of time outside, I still feel like the cold got to my bones, so I'm glad to have something hot right now.

After we had our drinks, I go upstairs with Rose, as Scarlett gets a call from her manager. Rose's room is a total mess, so I'm helping her clean it. She tells me about the world she created with her toys and I listen intently.

It takes quite a while to clean her room and I am a little surprised, how some of her toys ended up underneath her bad where I almost can't reach to anymore.

When we finally managed to get everything sorted out and put away, I smell dinner and Rose and I share a glance before bolting off towards the stairs.

We walk them down, both knowing running them down isn't allowed before we reach the end of them and run into the kitchen.

Scarlett laughs a little when Rose exclaims that she won the race because she touched the counter first but I tell her that I never knew about this rule, at which she just shrugs and grins. I stick my tongue out at her, which she does as well, so I chase her around the living room a bit. We end up on the floor, catching our breaths.

Scarlett calls that dinner is ready and Rose jumps up and hurries to sit down, hungry from the day. I lay on the ground a few more seconds, still catching my breath, wondering how Rose already regenerated all her energy. Scarlett comes to me and smiles down at me, shaking her head and offering me her hand. I take it and let her pull me up.

"I won that first race." I mutter a bit and she grins at me in amusement.

"I have to be neutral, but I don't care who won, I love you both equally." She says and gives me a quick peck that makes me smile and my heart skips a beat at her words.

I know she loves Rose more than anything in the world and her saying she loves me just as much, means more to me than I can say.

We sit down as well and start to eat.

After dinner, we decide to watch Frozen 2 and I try my best to hold it together when "the next right thing" comes on. Rose watches the movie happily while Scarlett pulls me closer and kisses my temple, telling me it'll be okay. I know that since I know the movie but it always makes me cry.

After that we bring Rose into bed, acting out one of her books for her since she loves that. We clean the kitchen and settle on the couch. I have pen and paper with me and lean forward to use the coffee table as desk.

I did some research for Rose's tree house and am now doing a draft to know how much wood I need. Scarlett reads a book and we just enjoy the silence while being together.

The next day we are woken by the excited yelling of Rose, before she comes storming into our bedroom, Mr. Mouve in her arms.

I blink a few times, trying to adjust to the light in the room. Rose runs around the bed and climbs onto it before almost throwing herself onto us. She stops though and lays down more careful, not wanting to hurt us, her octopus finds his place over our heads. I turn to lay on my back and Scarlett's arm, that was over my side, slides to resting on my stomach. Rose sits up on my stomach and excitedly looks down at us. Luckily, Scar seems to be more awake than me and interacts with Rose.

"What got you so excited, baby?" She asks and brushes some hair out of Rose's face. Rose buzzes with excitement and wiggles around a bit. I smile tiredly up at the little sunshine.

"It's snowing!" She cheers and starts bouncing a little on me, making me let out a little huff.

"That's great!" Scarlett agrees while I reach out to hold Rose in place to stop her from bouncing on my organs.

"I think it snowed over night as well because there is so much snow on the ground." Rose tells us and looks from Scarlett to me. I smile happily.

"Then it's gonna be an exciting day outside in the snow today." I say and Rose cheers and wiggles again.

"Can we go out now?" She asks and looks between us. I turn my head to look over at Scarlett, who also looks at me.

"How about we have breakfast before?" Scarlett suggests and Rose hums, agreeing with that.

"I also need to go to the apartment today, to sign the contract." I add and Scarlett nods, remembering that. Rose frowns a bit.

"But that'll take soooo long." She almost whines and crosses her arms.

"It may take a little while but I'll try to hurry up." I say and rub her back a little. Rose looks to her mom.

"Can we go outside during that?" She asks and makes her best puppy dog eyes. Scarlett's eyes soften and she caresses Rose's cheek.

"I would like to be with y/n when she signs the contract because it is an important moment for her." She explains and Rose's pout grows.

I look over at Scarlett, who glances to me with loving eyes. In silent communication I tell her 'thank you' because the thought of having her there with me makes me really happy.

"How about, after I signed the contract, we go to a park? There we can go sledging." I offer and Rose thinks about it for a few seconds before sighing and agreeing.

"Okay." She says and I smile.

"Can I wear my sweater with the snowflakes today?" She changes the topic and I have to hold back a chuckle. Scarlett also looks amused and bops Rose's nose.

"Of course, sweetheart." She replies and Rose seems happy. She picks up Mr. Mouve and gets off me to slide off the bed and go back to her own room. I watch her go and when I look back to Scarlett, I catch her looking at me.

"What?" I ask when she doesn't say anything but just smiles.

"I love you." She whispers before pecking my lips.

My heart flutters a bit and I roll over to lay on top of her, making her huff out a breath but wrapping her arms around me.

"I love you too." I whisper back and nuzzle my face into the crook of her neck. Her fingers draw a few patterns onto my back and I hum at the feeling.

"Watching you and Rose interact is one of my favorite things to do." She shares silently and I melt further into her at the adoration and love in her voice.

"I love the little nugget so much." I whisper back and she presses a kiss onto my hair.

Rose walks around the apartment while I talk to the woman about the contract. She points out a few things and I nod, reading over the paragraphs she points at.

Scarlett is standing next to me, looking at the contract as well.

I am honestly very glad she is here because this contract is a bit more complicated than the old one and I am not sure I understood everything but Scarlett nods along and when I glance at her, she smiles at me and takes my hand, squeezing it reassuringly.

When the woman stops to speak, she smiles at us and takes a few steps back, giving us a bit privacy to sign the contract. I look at all the post-it's where I'm supposed to sign and suddenly feel a bit lost.

I flip through the pages and take the pen into my hand, fidgeting a little with it. I sign where I understood what the woman was telling me. There are still a few pages I have to sign but I didn't understand what I should sign there.

Scarlett senses me being lost and leans closer, explaining me what exactly I am signing in a hushed voice. I feel a littler calmer and nod, signing the last parts.

The woman comes back to the counter and takes a quick look at the contract before nodding and taking it.

"You'll get a copy on the first of February." She says and waves the contract a bit. I nod and we shake hands and she officially welcomes me into the apartment.

As we head out again, Rose joins us and takes my hand.

"I like your new apartment." She tells me and I smile at her.

"I like it too." I say and Rose skips a bit next to me until we step out onto the street that's too slippery to skip.

"Will you take my y/n coloring book with you to the new apartment?" She asks and looks up at me. I smile and give her hand a small squeeze.

"Of course I will. After all, you need something to color in when you're visiting me." I say and Rose nods satisfied.

Scarlett already talked to her about being away and that Rose will stay with her dad in that time. She didn't seem thrilled about it but so far she didn't say a lot about it but I have a feeling she will soon enough when it's time for her to move to her dad.

"Maybe I can bring a few more of my toys to your apartment when I visit you more often." She thinks out loud and my heart warms up at the thought, also because I had it too.

"Maybe we can buy a toy box for them, so you always have room to store them then." I offer and Rose's eyes light up.

"Then I'd have room for more toys." She cheers happily and I laugh a little.

"We will see." I say and she nods.

I feel Scarlett looking at me and when I turn my head, she smiles at me with so much love that my heart melts into a puddle.

I can tell she likes the idea of Rose and me spending time together even if she is in LA. But for me it's obvious, just because Scarlett won't be here, doesn't mean I will stop spending time with Rose.

A/n: Funfact: after this chapter, I somehow changed the layout of the kitchen and the living room in my head, so I was a bit confused when I reread it. XD
