A/n: I decided to make it a surprise when smut will happen, so no more warning and * because you all like to be surprised ;)

Since I had to get up early, my alarm went off the next morning and with a groan I turned it off before looking over to the other person in my bed.

Scarlett seemed half asleep and half awake, which I can't blame her for. If I could, I would have stayed in bed longer as well but I couldn't.

We exchanged a few words, mainly saying we'll see each other later at the coffeeshop since she comes there every Wednesday. I gave her my keys, so she could lock up my apartment after leaving it. After a quick kiss on the cheek, I got ready and let her sleep a bit longer.

I can't help the smile on my face as I walk to work and get everything ready. Of course, Jesse notices my smile as well and scans me before smirking.

"You got laid." He states with a smirk and I shush him and feel my cheeks heating up.

"Would you mind not telling the whole city of New York?" I whisper. Not because I'm ashamed but not everyone needs to know. He bites his lip and grins but nods.

"How was it?" He whispers while helping me to stock up the shelfs beneath the counter. I glance around the shop before turning to him and grinning widely.

"It was amazing! And passionate and soft at the same time. It was just perfect." I say with a little sigh, my mind remembering last night. But before I get myself horny, I switch off that part of my brain.

"You surely glow after last night." Jesse observes and gives me a happy smile. I return it and we go back to work, changing the topic to something appropriate.

Around two hours later, Scarlett enters the shop and I chuckle to myself when I see that she's wearing one of my hoodies. She looks amazing in it and adorable at the same time. By the look in her eyes, she know exactly what's running through my mind and smiles happily.

Jesse goes on his round around the shop, seeing if any customer needs something while I wait behind the counter for Scarlett.

I only need to look into her eyes to know that she'll take her usual order and start preparing it.

She leans her hip against the counter and watches me. When I set down the cup in front of her, she puckers her lips and I roll my eyes playfully and give her a quick kiss.

"How are you, angel?" She asks while pulling out her purse to pay. Since no one is in line behind her, she takes her sweet time to be able to talk to me.

"I'm great." I answer and see something flickering in her eyes and a tiny smirk appears on her lips.

"Still able to walk?" She asks silently and I huff out a laugh.

"You think I can't take one round?" I ask back, keeping my voice low as well. Scar looks me in the eyes, a playful sparkle in them.

"Maybe I need to put more effort into it next time." She smirks and winks. I get a little flustered and put her money in the register.

"Touché." I reply and she grins before taking her coffee to her table.

Apparently she didn't go home before coming here because she doesn't have her laptop with her and just sips her coffee while looking out the window. For a few seconds I admire her side profile before going back to work.

Today is an unusually calm day and it's almost boring. We only have a few customers sitting inside and there aren't a lot coming in either.

Jesse and I are done with all our tasks for now and after a short talk, I make myself a coffee and join Scarlett at her table. She looks at me in mild surprise but also happy. I refilled her coffee a few minutes ago, so it's still full and I lean back in the chair a little.

"Boring day at work?" She teases and I chuckle silently but nod.

"No interesting guests, you know." I tease back and she pouts in fake offense. I smile and take her hand, intertwining our fingers loosely before taking a sip.

"No work to do today?" I ask her and put my cup down. She sighs and scrunches up her nose, which is adorable.

"Actually I do but I didn't want to go home and get my laptop. It's not much though, so I can also do it tomorrow." She shrugs and I nod.

"That reminds me, I have to go to the gym today to get in my workout." She lightly complains and I smile at how cute she is.

"You are in great shape, babe." I assure her and she gives me a thankful smile but shakes her head.

"I'm not doing it for me, I need it for the movie I'll shoot next year, remember?" She reminds me and I frown. I already forgot that she will be away at the beginning of next year and I still don't like it but it's her job and we will figure it out somehow.

"Right." I say, my thought still a little trailed off.

We sit in silence for a few minutes, both in our thoughts while sipping coffee.

"I wanted to ask you something." Scarlett remembers and I turn my full attention to her.

"It's about Thanksgiving. Are you going home for it?" She asks and nibbles on her lip a little, a sign that she's a bit nervous about my answer. I shake my head.

"No, I don't think so. I mean, it would be nice but the way is so long and it's not worth the effort for only one day." I answer and she nods, her face lighting up a little.

"Why? Got any plans?" I ask back and assumed right as she nods.

"As you know, my birthday is two days before Thanksgiving this year and I'll throw a little party. And I was thinking about maybe inviting a few people to stay for Thanksgiving, so we could celebrate it together, you know?" She explains and I adore how happy this thought makes her.

"That sounds like a really nice idea. Who did you think about?" I ask and look around the shop to check if I'm needed anywhere but I'm not, so I look back to Scarlett.

"Lizzie and Robbie, her fiancée and Flo. Those three definitely. I'm not sure if maybe Chris as well. Just a few, not too many." She counts and I look at her questioningly.

"Oh, right, you don't know Chris yet. Chris Evans, he plays Captain America." She explains and I nod when I vaguely have a face in mind.

"Sure, sounds good." I agree and smile.

"And in case it wasn't obvious, you are also in those plans." She quickly adds and I chuckle a little.

"This time I figured it, otherwise it would have been a bit rude to tell me about those plans but not inviting me." I say and she blushes and grins a little.

"True. So, you're on board with those plans?" She asks and empties her coffee. I nod.

"I am. Do they all have somewhere to stay?" I ask and when Scarlett sucks in her bottom lip and looks at me with big eyes, I have an idea on what's coming now.

"I thought Lizzie and Robbie could sleep in the guest bedroom and I'm pretty sure Evans already booked a hotel. And I kinda hoped, maybe Flo could crash at your apartment?" She asks carefully as if I would snap if she said something wrong.

I think about it. Flo and I got along very well yesterday and I can imagine it'd be fun to have her at my place. Besides, she seems like a trustworthy person and if Scarlett trusts her, so do I.

"Sure, why not?" I agree and see relief wash over her face before she squeezes my hands a little.

"It's gonna be amazing! And I can't wait to fall asleep next to you." She cheers but I have to stop her enthusiasm.

"Well, that could get a little difficult... I have to work the day between your birthday and Thanksgiving. I already managed to get my shift at the aquarium off for your birthday and the shift here for the day after Thanksgiving but I can't get the Wednesday in between off." I explain and she pouts.

"So, no stay over at my birthday?" She asks and I cup her face with my free hand.

"I'm sorry, cuddle bug but no, you live too far away from this shop to drive here the next morning." I explain and she sighs but agrees, still not happy with it but accepting it.

"Fine but you'll stay after Thanksgiving?" She asks and leans into my touch.

"Yes, I will." I confirm and she smiles a little and kisses my palm.

"Okay, then I guess I can live with that." She agrees and nods. I smile and hold up one finger to tell her I'll be right back.

She watches me as I serve the three new customers that just walked in while Jesse refills some drinks from the customers inside the shop.

When I'm back at the table, Scarlett smiles at me and immediately intertwines our fingers again.

"Speaking of holidays though, I thought about going home over Christmas." I share my plans and Scarlett nods, taking in my words.

"Sounds nice." She says with a smile and starts to play with my fingers.

"Yeah. Do you and Rose have anything planned?" I ask back and she shakes her head.

"We actually don't really celebrate Christmas since I'm Jewish, we're celebrating Hanukkah. But Rose still gets one or two presents on Christmas because it's hard to explain to a six-year-old that she doesn't get presents when everyone else does." Scarlett chuckles a little in thought. It's new to me that she's Jewish but I don't mind at all.

"So, you don't have plans?"

She shakes her head. I think about my next question for a few seconds as it's more of an impulse than a thought-through question before I talk.

"Would you and Rose like to come with me when I visit home?" I ask and she looks at me in surprise, seemingly not having thought about this so far.

"You really would want Rose and me to spend Christmas with your family back home?" She asks and locks eyes with me. I don't hesitate a second and nod. The longer I think about it, the more I like that thought.

"Yes, of course. I mean, I know now that you don't celebrate it but we aren't very religious back at home. Sure, Mom goes to church every now and then but our Christmas is more like a get together for the family and to spend time together." I explain and Scarlett's eyes start to sparkle a bit.

"But wouldn't Rose and I intrude?" She asks a little unsure but I shake my head.

"You wouldn't. I'm sure my mother and siblings would love to get to know you." I say and squeeze her hand in reassurance. Her smile grows and she slowly nods.

"Okay, I'd love to visit your family with you." She agrees happily and I feel my heart beating in excitement and joy.

Introducing her to my family will probably make me nervous but I am already pretty sure that we'll be together for quite a long time, so I'm sure about this as well.

"I'll talk to Rose and ask her if she feels comfortable with going too. And I'll talk to her dad but I doubt that he has any plans that include her." Scarlett says with an adorable smile.

"Great, I hope she wants to come as well." I smile and Scar nods.

"I'm sure she'll love to." She assures me and leans over to give me a quick kiss. I return it and feel a little lighter, now that we have the topic holidays settled and that I know I get to spend them with Scarlett and Rose.

A/n: What do you think about them spending the holidays together?

Also, surprise update, because I just finished writing the last chapter to this story and now I'm crying.

(Don't worry, it's not gonna end any time soon)
