Jesse nudges my shoulders and I get back to reality.

"Where were you with your thoughts?" He asks and I focus my eyes on him as they were unfocused while I was in my mind.

"You were with her, right?" He asks, reading the huge smile on my face right and I nod.

My mind kept replying our weekend together and especially the moment where she told me she loves me. Ever since I am so full of happiness that I think I might explode.

"Our weekend was so perfect." I start gushing and a happy expression lays itself on Jesse's face.

"We spent the Saturday out in New York and she showed me all the tourist spots since I didn't see them yet because I started working right after I got here. It was so fun to just enjoy the time together and then we got home and it just ahhh." I grin and let my head fall back to look at the ceiling before looking back at Jesse who suddenly smirks knowingly.

"So you did it?" He asks and I purse my lips before they curl into a smile and I give him a small nod.

"It was perfect and after that, we went to sit on the couch downstairs to watch the fire and then she told me she loves me." I smile contently and Jesse squeals a little in excitement, hugging me and I am so happy that he matches my energy and is happy with and for me.

"Did you say it back?" He asks further after letting go of me and I nod and bite my lip to contain the enormous smile on my face.

"Of course and then we just laid there and cuddled for the rest of the night and the next morning we were all cheesy and cute and made breakfast together while feeding each other the fruits we were cutting." I tell him and grin at the memory. Scarlett and I really behaved like teenagers but I loved every second of it.

"Since it was rainy, we stayed at her house and watched a few movies and talked about stuff before Rose came back from her dad's and we played some boardgames together." I end my story and lean against the counter, watching Jesse's reaction. He smiles brightly at me.

"That sounds amazing. I am really happy for you." He says and I grin at him in thanks.

"Too bad I had a free day yesterday, I would have loved to see you all excited." He almost pouts and I give him a sympathetic look.

"I was but you didn't miss much, I had work to do and didn't really have time to think about it. How was your day though?" I ask and he hums before leaning against the counter as well.

"It was great, I visited my family over the weekend and we spent a lot of time together and I got to see some old friends from home." He tells me and I give him an encouraging smile to continue his story.

It sounds like he had a great time and it makes me think about my family and my home. I haven't seen them since I moved here, only over Facetime but not in real life. It's not particularly a bad thing since I moved here to get some distance and have time to myself but hearing how great Jesse's weekend was, does make me think about visiting them.

In a little over a week is Thanksgiving but I don't know if I'll go home over the holiday because I haven't talked to Scarlett about it yet and don't know if she has any plans and if that involves me.

Jesse and I stop our conversation when new customers walk in and I go to check the ones who sit at tables. When the bell over the door rings again, I turn around to see how many people entered the shop to see if Jesse needs help behind the counter and am surprised to see a very familiar face.

"Hi angel." Scarlett says and I smile and walk to her since my round is done now anyway.

"Hey bug." I greet back and she puckers her lips a little, making me smile and I lean forward to give her a quick peck.

I'm a little surprised by her sudden display of affection but I don't mind at all. She seems to notice my confusion though and takes my hand to give it a little kiss.

"Everyone is allowed to see that I love you." She whispers and the butterflies in my stomach wake up. I smile at her, my eyes returning her words.

"Speaking of, I'd like you to meet someone." She says and only now I notice that she isn't alone.

A few steps away stands a blonde woman, around my age who looks around the shop before looking back at us with an open smile. I look back to Jesse who gives me a nod to tell me it's okay to have a chat with them, before Scarlett and I approach the woman.

"Hey, I'm Florence but you can call me Flo." The woman introduces herself and I notice her voice is slightly raspier than expected but it just adds to the charming vibe she gives off.

"Nice to meet you, I'm y/n." I introduce myself as well and Flo nods with a smile.

"I heard some things about you." She says and her eyes dart to Scarlett before looking at me, never losing their sparkle.

"I hope only good things." I joke and feel Scarlett giving my hand a little squeeze.

"Of course, only the best." Flo agrees and we grin at each other.

I like her, even though I don't know her, she seems like an amazing person and she just gives me a vibe that we'll get along great.

"Do you want to drink something?" I ask and offer them to sit at a table. Flo and Scarlett sit down while I stay, having to go back to work. But Scarlett still holds my hand while I wait for their answers.

"That would be great." Flo says and her eyes scan the board over the counter.

"I'd like a tea, please." She says and it's just now that I notice her slight British accent. I nod and make a mental note before looking to my girlfriend.

"The usual." She says and grins up at me.

"Coming right up." I say and let go of Scarlett's hand, who pouts a little but lets me go.

Her and Florence start a conversation while I go back behind the counter and start preparing their drinks. Jesse smiles at me, having seen the interaction with Scarlett but not commenting on it since there is a chance she could hear it.

As soon as their drinks are ready, I bring them to the two blondes and they both pay but stay seated.

As always, I'm a little distracted by Scarlett and glance over at her, just admiring her a few seconds. Call me a simp but I can't help it.

Her and Flo seem to get along great and it makes me happy to watch them interact. I go on with my chores around the shop and refill their drinks when they're empty.

Since I don't really have time to spend my one hour break between my jobs with them, Scarlett asked me if they could come pick me up from work. I don't know what they have planned but I don't mind getting to know Florence better.

During my work at the aquarium, I almost forget that I will meet them later because I am busy with guiding people around and feeding the animals.

I can't help but to smile every time I pass the shark tank because it reminds me of the afternoon where Rose and Scarlett visited me here and how I showed them around.

I chat a little with my coworkers during a five minute break and then my shift is over.

When I step out of the aquarium, I see Scarlett and Flo waiting for me. I stroll over and when I'm only a few meters away, Scarlett notices me and her whole face lights up, making my heart warm up at the sight.

She's still talking to Flo but takes my hand and intertwines our fingers. Her hand is a little cold, so I put our hands into my pocket, in an attempt to warm it.

As an answer, she strokes my knuckles with her thumb and gives me an appreciated smile.

When their conversation fades, Florence turns to me and gives me a welcoming smile.

"Hey, how was it?" She asks and nods towards the aquarium.

"It was good, quite busy but still good." I answer and we slowly make our way down the pier and to the beach.

Since it's November, it's already getting dark but we don't mind.

"What did you two do?" I ask back and look between Scarlett and Flo.

"We caught up a little more and picked up Rose from school before dropping her off at a friend's house." Florence tells me and I see Scar smiling at our interaction.

"That little ray of sunshine always melts my heart when she comes running up to me." Flo shares and smiles happily at the memory.

"Oh yeah, I totally get that, she's really the cutest." I agree and Scarlett hums in agreement.

"She is and I wish I was around when she was born and could have been a godmother too." Flo says and pouts adorably before glaring playfully at Scarlett, who holds up one hand in defeat.

"I didn't know you back then but if I did, I for sure would have made you godmother as well." She says with a little chuckle and Florence nods, the pout turning into a smirk.

"Can I be the godmother of your next child then?" She asks and wiggles her eyebrows in our direction and I laugh at that. Scarlett chuckles as well.

"I'm not making any promises." She says and Flo pouts at her before looking at me. I grin and nod, making her match my expression.

"Y/n said I can be!" She cheers and claps. Scarlett laughs and turns to me.

"Oh, you did?" She asks and playfully glares at me. I smile cheekily and nod. Scarlett puts her free hand over her chest and gasps.

"The betrayal!"

Flo and I both laugh before Flo switches sides to walk next to me.

"If you don't want her anymore, I will gladly take her." She says with a grin and hooks her arm around mine and I laugh and lean against her a little. Scarlett glares at Flo playfully.

"Nope, I want her, no need to replace me, Pugh." She chuckles and pulls out our linked hands from my pocket, showing them to Flo.

"See, mine." She emphasizes with a proud smile and the butterflies in my stomach go crazy.

"Am I supposed to see a ring?" Florence teases and I laugh and look back at Scarlett who scoffs.

"Is this your way of asking for my hand in marriage?" I tease her as well and Scarlett nudges my shoulder with hers.

"Oh, shut up. I would ask differently." She says and puts our hands back in my pocket, wrapping her other arm around mine and walking closer to me.

"Not if I ask first." Flo grins and lets go of my arm, ready to go down on one knee. I laugh.

"That is a little quick, don't you think?" I ask and she pretends to think about it.

"Would you want to be fought for or chased after?" She asks with a grin and I nod.

"Sure." I reply and when I see something glinting in her eyes, I quickly let go of Scarlett's hand, just in time to bolt off with Flo chasing me.

We run around the beach, which is quite exhausting because running on sand is double the effort and I don't like running usually.

Florence is quite quick and gets closer, so I take a few sharp turns, escaping her.

Scarlett laughs amused and watches us chasing around the beach. I turn my head to look at her, which was a bad idea because seconds later I trip and land in the slightly wet sand.

Flo almost trips over me but comes to a halt before falling onto me. She leans down onto her knees, catching her breath between laughs.

"Are you okay?" She asks and I shake my head while I laugh. Scarlett approaches us as Florence helps me up.

"What did you even trip about?" She asks between giggles and I look back at the ground.

"Sand." I answer, making both of us giggle even more.

Scarlett smiles softly but scans my body for any sign of injuries, which I don't have. I pad off the sand.

"Very graceful, angel." She comments and helps me to get rid of the sand.

"Always." I reply and she kisses my lips quickly before spinning me around to check if I'm all sand-free.

After wiping some sand off my butt, which I didn't mind at all, she seems satisfied and wraps her arm around my back, keeping me close to her.

"Alright, you two are very cute together, maybe I let you be happy." Flo grins and we continue our walk. I shot her a grin.

"So generous." I tease and she shrugs with a smile.

"How did you two met?" I ask as we walk up to the park to slowly get back home.

"We worked together." Flo tells me and looks at me, looking like she's trying to figure something out.

"On which project?" I ask interested and Flo huffs almost offended.

"You haven't seen 'Black Widow' yet?" She asks and I shake my head. Her eyes switch to Scarlett.

"She doesn't know who I am? She doesn't know my Russian accent?" She asks and pouts again, which is still very adorable. I smile in amusement and shake my head.

"Sorry, no but I bet you had a great accent." I say and her pout disappears.

"I was planning on pouting for a while longer but you are so sweet." She almost whines, making Scarlett and me laugh.

"No, she is still catching up on the Marvel movies." Scarlett explains and pulls me a little closer, her hand sliding down to rest above my butt while mine is around her shoulder.

"Fine but you better tell me what you think of the movie." Flo points at me and I chuckle but agree. Her face lights up and the playful pout dissolves completely.

"How come I never met you so far?" I ask her and look from her to Scarlett. "You two seem pretty close."

"We are, she's like my big sister." Flo agrees and Scarlett nods.

"Florence is my safety blanket." She adds and I smile at their cute bond.

"But I usually live in L.A., so I'm not in New York very often and when I am, it's mostly because of some project." Flo explains and I nod.

"Are you working on any project right now?" I ask and let Scarlett guide me through the park.

"I am but it's only a few more days, not even a week anymore and yesterday and tomorrow we film here in New York, so I thought I spend my day off with Scar." She tells me and smiles over at Scarlett, who seems happy over that decision.

"I mean, we would have seen each other next week anyway but still, it's nice to see her without a party." She explains and smiles, returning her attention back onto the way ahead of us.

I am confused about her words because I don't know anything about a party, so I look over at Scarlett.

"What party?" I ask and she looks at me confused for a second until she seems to remember and an apologetic look appears in her eyes.

"I totally forgot to tell you, I'm so sorry! It's my birthday next Tuesday and I was planning a little get together with friends. I kinda forgot to tell you but you are of course invited, baby." She says and bites her lip, waiting for my reaction. Flo keeps quiet, letting us discuss this on our own.

"I'd love to come, I might just need to talk to my boss at work but I'd love to." I say but can't keep a small frown from appearing on my face. Scarlett of course notices it and comes to a halt, facing me.

"What's wrong? Are you mad because I didn't tell you about the party? I am really sorry, it slipped my mind but I really would love to have you there." She assures me and her eyes search for mine.

"No, I'm not mad about that." I answer, sorting my own thoughts for a few seconds before meeting her eyes.

"It's just a surprise that it's your birthday and that I don't know what to get you yet." I explain and my brain starts to go through all the opinions for presents.

"I know, we never talked about it and I kinda forgot that we didn't. But you don't have to get me a gift, you coming is enough for me." She says and kisses my nose, making me smile and my mind stop spinning.

"That's sweet but I want to get you something, I just need to figure out what." I say and squeeze her hand to assure her I'm really not mad. She nods and we slowly turn to continue our way.

"It doesn't need to be expensive, okay? I don't want you to spend your hard earned money on me." Scarlett almost whispers, so that only I can hear it and I nod, kissing her temple.

The mood is more relaxed again, which Flo seems to notice as well, starting to talk again.

"I'm definitely looking forward to see both of you again and of course little Rose." She says with a soft smile and I also smile at how many people love Rose.

We continue our stroll until Flo has to take the subway back to her hotel.

"See you in a week, y/n. And don't forget, if Scarlett ever annoys you, I'm free." She says and winks at me, which makes me chuckle and I nod.

"Noted." I answer and we hug shortly before Flo and Scar hug.

After that Florence disappears into the subway station and I smile, it was really nice meeting her, she has such a happy and bubbly personality and is fun to be around with. Scarlett watches my side-profile before gently tapping my butt.

"Come one, let's get you home and changed because I can tell that your pants are wet from the sand and I don't want you to get sick." She says, a tiny bit concern in her voice and I nod, following her lead.

"That sounds like I'm a child who fell into the ocean while goofing around." I say and grin, making Scarlett laugh and shake her head.

"Well, maybe because you acted like a child and fell into the sand." She comments and I nod.

"Fair enough." I agree and pull her a little closer, her hand still resting on my butt but I couldn't care less.

"But I love when you are all goofy and carefree, it's adorable and I hope you never lose that." She adds with a soft voice and nothing but love in her eyes. It warms my heart and I smile.

"And I love you." I say and she looks at me, her eyes sparkling with joy before she kisses me and returns my words in a whisper against my lips.

Turns out she was here with her car, so she drives me home. On the way there, she tells me that Rose is at her friend's for a little sleepover, exceptionally under the week because they had a little project to work on and wanted to finish it together.

We arrive at my place and Scarlett parks the car, apparently coming up with me, which makes me happy but also worry if my apartment is clean.

Turns out, it is, mainly at least. There is a laundry basket with clean laundry in my living room that I was too lazy to bring upstairs this morning and some plates in the sink but apart from that, it's not too messy.

We get out of our shoes and coats and hang them up. Scarlett pulls me to her and wraps her arms around me, leaning her forehead against mine.

"You seemed to get along good with Florence." She observes in a soft voice, her eyes happy about that.

"I did. She is fun and so kind and sweet." I agree and Scarlett's smile widens.

"I like that you get along with my friends." She says and leans back to look into my eyes properly.

"I like that too." I reply easily and her eyes light up before she leans in and kisses my lips softly. I smile into the kiss as it's very sweet and loving, making me all warm and fuzzy on the inside.

"As much as I'd like to keep that up." Scarlett says after pulling away and kissing my nose. "You should take a shower to warm that cute butt of yours." She says and taps my butt again. I roll my eyes and pout.

"Can't I just change and then we can cuddle?" I ask and look at her with big eyes and for a second it looks like I can change her mind but then she shakes her head.

"We can cuddle afterwards. I really don't want you to catch any sickness." She says and kisses my pouty lips until I smile a little.

"Fine." I sigh and she chuckles and squeezes my butt, making me squeal in surprise and her grin.

"Good, now undress, my love." She says with a cheeky smile and her hands run along my waist until they find the button of my pants and open it.

"Oh? You want me to strip for you?" I smirk and she blushes a little, biting her lip.

"I mean, I wouldn't mind but that wasn't my intention." She grins and I shake my head with a chuckle.
