"Morning Naruto." (Y/n) said, while stretching her arms out.

"Good morning (N/n)!" Naruto returned the greeting, as he finished the expired milk.

'I'm not even gonna bother telling him-' (Y/n) thought, grabbing a apple from her bag.

"Eh!? Is that all you're gonna eat, (Y/n)?"

Said girl only responded with a nod and walked out the door.

"Wait for me (N/n)-chan!"

Naruto and (Y/n) were walking towards the academy. (Y/n) was eating some candy from her bag, and Naruto hand his hands in his pockets.

Then, Konohamaru came out of his (still bad) disguise from the fence.

"Fight me now, Naruto-" Konohamaru was cut off by him tripping on the disguise, landing face first on the ground.

(Y/n) bursted out with laughter and Naruto sweat dropped at the younger kid's antics.

"What're you doing, Konohamaru?" Naruto asked.

(Y/n) recomposed herself and tuned out their conversation with some music.

She ended up leaving Naruto to get to the meeting.

While walking, (Y/n) heard Ino's voice.

"Morning, Sakura." Ino said to her old friend.

"Morning.... Ino." Sakura said with a smirk.

(Y/n) decided to ease down the tension between them by speaking up.

"Good morning you two!" (Y/n) exclaimed with a close eyed smile, seemingly popping out of nowhere.

"Hi (Y/n)-chan!" Ino and Sakura said at the same time, which made the two glare daggers at eachother.

'Looks like my presence only made things worst' (Y/n) thought, still keeping a smile etched on her face.

The three girls ended up walking together, there was clear tension between Ino and Sakura.

Being in the middle of both of them, (Y/n) noticed how short she was compared to her friends.

'No, why- usually the reader is taller than most of the other characters, I haven't even noticed that I was shorter than Naruto.' (Y/n) thought with a frown.

Sakura and Ino caught sight of (Y/n) expression, and their mood changed simultaneously.

"(Y/n)-chan, what's wrong?" Ino asked.

"Are you okay, (Y/n)?" Sakura added.

'Wow, that- oh, so that's the effect I have on people' (Y/n) thought, grabbing a hand full of candy and giving it to the two other girls.

"I'm fine! Just a little tired...... I guess" (Y/n) whispered the last part.

They gladly accepted the candy, they were still worried about their short friend though.

(Y/n) got ahead of Ino and Sakura.

When she arrived to the classroom(?), all eyes were on her.

'This is like the first day of school all over again'

"Hey there (Y/n)~" Kiba said with a wink.

"I'm too tired to deal with you right now." (Y/n) said, making Kiba silently sob in the corner.

The (h/c) haired girl went over to Sasuke and sat beside him, which brought a smirk to the Uchiha's face.

Not long after, Naruto got to the room and sat beside (Y/n).

'Hol'up, ain't the kiss part here-'

Sakura and Ino did their little race thing to the room, they seemed more aggressive this time.

(Y/n) slowly slid under the desk, not wanting to get noticed by the two girls.

'Cute...' Both Sasuke and Naruto thought.

Naruto shook his head. '(Y/n)'s my best friend and I like Sakura'

Sasuke on the other hand didn't even bother to deny it.

Naruto got pushed aside by Sakura who wanted to sit beside Sasuke.

"Hey! I'm gonna sit next to Sasuke!" Ino said, grabbing Sakura left arm.

Their conversation soon turned into the majority of girls in the class, fighting over who gets to sit next to him.

(Y/n) looked up at Sasuke, as she was still under the desk. Sasuke looked down and patted her head.

'I feel like a damn 'UwU' kid' (Y/n) thought as she blushed in embarrassment.

Sasuke looked back at the crowd of girls by his desk.

'How annoying' He thought.

~𝕊𝕠𝕞𝕖𝕨𝕙𝕖𝕣𝕖 𝕖𝕝𝕤𝕖~

"Is that the year's top rookie, Sasuke Uchiha?" A male voice spoke up.

"No, actually, he's the second top rookie." The third Hokage said.

"The sole survivor of the Uchiha clan?" Kurenai said.

"Yes." The Hokage responded.

"Who is the top rookie then." A random ninja said.

"(Y/n)." Lord Third answered.

"The kid who came out of nowhere 1 year ago?" The same ninja asked.

"You are correct."

"..."

"......"

"........."

"Where is she?"

Then, as if (Y/n) knew what they said (she did), a (s/c) hand from under the desk, waved at them.

The room was shocked. How could someone know they were watching.

"An odd kid" Kakashi commented.

The other ninjas nodded in agreement.

Back with the rookies

From (Y/n)'s perspective, a thump could be heard from above. Naruto was on top of the desk, crouching and glaring at Sasuke.

"Naruto! Stop glaring at Sasuke!" Sakura said with a annoyed look etched on her, and the other girls' faces.

Lightning started to form between Naruto's and Sasuke's gaze.

*insert 'OOF' sound effect*

"Ah- sorry about that." A background character said.

*cue smooch sound effect*

(Y/n) emerged from under the desk and took a picture.

"AHA, I FUCKING CAUGHT IT!" (Y/n) said with a proud smile.

The two boys separated and started to wipe their mouths.

Sasuke's fangirls were fuming at this point.

"Naruto..." Sakura said in a dark tone.

"(N/n)-chan, help me-" Naruto managed to say.

"No can do, Naruto, you're on your own here." (Y/n) replied.

(𝚃𝚒𝚖𝚎 𝚜𝚔𝚒𝚙)

"As of today, you all are certified ninjas.... However, you all are still Genin." Iruka sensei said.

"From here on, you'll be in a squad of three, yet, due to the uneven amount of graduates, we'll have one squad of 4, and carry out missions under your Jonin teachers. " He added.

"I wonder who's gonna be in a group with Sasuke or (Y/n)." Ino said

"I don't know." Sakura said, looking at Ino.

'Cha! I'll be the one grouped up with Sasuke and (Y/n), naturally!' The pink haired girl thought.

'Squads of three, eh. It'll just slow me down. Maybe not (Y/n)...' Sasuke thought.

'It's perfect! I can have Sakura and (Y/n) on the squad!' The Uzumaki thought.

'I mean- it's obvious where I'm going' (Y/n) thought.

"The groups have been determined so that the strength of the groups will be balanced." Iruka continued

"Now for the assignments" Iruka announced.

(𝚃𝚒𝚖𝚎 𝚜𝚔𝚒𝚙)

"Now then, next is Group 7..... Naruto Uzumaki.." The blonde put his head up at the sound of his name.

"....Sakura Haruno.." Sakura frowned.

"Hooray!" Naruto said with his hands up.

"...Sasuke Uchiha.."

"Hn" was all that came out of the Uchiha.

Naruto's mood did a full 180°

"Yes!" Sakura exclaimed.

"... and (Y/n)."

Sakura and Naruto showed clear signs of joy at the mentioning of (Y/n)'s name, while Sasuke internally celebrated.

The rest of the class groaned with jealously.
