That same night Paul Lahote never came back, he couldn't manage to calm himself enough to change back after Jacob shared the news. He instead came the next morning deciding he needed to change back no matter how angry he was to protect Jane. As he walked through the woods to her house in the pouring rain he stopped and stared at Jane who stood outside painting. The rain smudging the canvas as she cried, the painting was of a vampire biting a girls neck, the red from the vampires hair dripping down the painting like blood.

"Jane- what are you doing out here? Your going to get sick." He says in a panic not even noticing at first it wasn't Jane until he looked into her eyes. "My painting....... It's ruined." She sobbed as he looked at her funny before looking at the painting his jaw tensing. There on the canvas was Jane being bitten on the neck by Victoria, he knew this had to be the persona of the hangman's daughter. She was a personality that was good at art and was showing him a future he didn't want to believe. "Come on. Let's get you inside." Paul seethes shaking from his anger as he guides the sobbing girl into the house leaving her painting to ruin more.

As he gets the girl inside she soon becomes Jane once more as he paces her living room unsure what to even say. "You know about the army right? Did Bella and her leech tell you about it?" He asks annoyed since he had specifically told Jacob to text Bella how he wanted to be the one to break the news to Jane. He knew her cousin would be insensitive and Edward...... he'd just make Jane get pissed off.

"The hangman's daughter had a vision right after you left last night. She has been painting since then, she hasn't let the body sleep." Jane explains making him furrow his eyebrows that Jane hadn't slept even a wink. He also was slightly impressed that another of janes personalities had a another type of power he'd never known about. "There's so many different outcomes possible..... she's painted everyone she's seen." Jane says leaving out the detail that most of them insinuated someone was going to die.

And it was between her and Bella.

"None of those are going to happen. I am going to protect you. No matter what. Jane I will give my life if that's what it takes, I'm going to make sure you get the chance to live a long happy life." Paul says matter of factly but- Jane looks upset by it. "No. Your going to be by my side forever, I can't be with anyone else, I can't be happy without you. We are going to be in this together, besides I doubt the others would let anything happen to the body. You haven't met them all." Jane says thinking of Katy burning the creatures, Karen using her ability to make anyone do what she wanted, Lucy fugue's electricity knocking them on their asses, and of course the one he did know Hammerhead, she'd beat the shit out of some corpses.

The two go up stairs and curl up on Janes bed where her head rests on his chest and he plays with her hair. It's comforting but his eyes would drift here and there to the paintings that her personality had made and he'd let a low warning growl slip unintentionally. She'd give him a hefty smack in the stomach to knock it off.

"So...... graduating in a few days huh?" Jane asks to distract him and he smiles proudly. He wanted his classmates to see his gorgeous girlfriend, his school rumors of her being a nut case seemed to always make him lose his cool. But- he truly believed anyone who met her would just realize she is in fact crazy but she's kind, and smart and has no control over the others. "Do you want to go to college?" Jane asks sounding nervous but Paul chuckled lowly shaking his head. "I hate school. Especially math." He says making Jane laugh and nod. "Me too, I'm surprised I even graduated...... but- would you want to stay in Forks?" Jane asks as if she was leaning towards something.

"...... I always dreamed of getting the hell out of here if I got the chance but- I need to protect my town and it's people so- I guess I'd have to stay." He says a bit glum as Jane nods. "What about your dad? Would you want to move out?" Jane asks making Paul tense and look at her funny. He never wanted her to meet his drunk of a father. He knew his dad was nothing compared to Janes when it came to evil but he didn't want to expose her to any more toxic men. "I think I'd want to get out...... maybe my own place." He says awkwardly as she doesn't seem to even look at him her mind wandering elsewhere.

".......Would you want to live with me?" He asks dryly from being nervous but Janes ears perk up and she immediately sits up looking down at him. He lays there wide eyed thinking she was going to yell at him. "Are you really asking me to live with you?" She whispers as the underground goes hectic trying to force her to remember what happened with Miranda and her ex. "........... yeah. If it's too soon I understand I'm sorry- I probably am ru-" he begins to ramble when Jane kissed him and smiles against his lips. "I would love to." She says as everyone in the underground goes oddly mute like someone's forcing them down.

"Really?" He asks surprised knowing Jane would usually take time when it came to intimate things. "Yeah I mean- why the fuck not right? We're soulmates..... it's only a matter of time." She says confidently but getting shy at the end but happy as a smile grows across his face.

"If I could even get a job. I'm not sure who's gonna wanna hire me but- I'm sure there's something." She says trying to think of any job where face to face with customers ....... Or coworkers..... or men...... she was struggling. "You could always do painting, I'm sure there's a lot of rich moms in Port Angela's that'd love their family painted." Paul says making a smile come to Janes face, she knew it was a pipe dream but- honestly she'd be okay as long as she had Paul by her side.

"What about you? Once all this vampire and werewolf stuff is over?" Jane asks as he now looks at the ceiling with furrowed eyebrows. "I don't know..... maybe the lumber yard, or there's the docks with fishermen." He says glancing at Jane for the end half and she made a disgusted face. "No way in hell are you coming home smelling like fish guts." Jane snorts shaking her head his laugh rumbled beneath her. "Awe come on baby..... don't you want some free sushi?" He says mockingly as she shakes her head Jane hated fish the smell of it the thought of it. Especially sushi with it being raw and all.

"Is any of that gonna happen though? Alice told me some of the visions she's seen for me in the future...." Jane trails off as he tenses. "The hangman's daughter is seeing things now.... I know I'm a pretty fucking doom and gloom person but- I don't want to die Paul." Jane whispers the last part as his body shakes lightly beneath her. "And your not going to..... I'm going to do everything possible to make sure you get to grow old with me.... We are going to get our happily ever after Jane." He says deathly serious as a crude smile comes to her lips.

"Back when I was first brought here.... I always thought I was crazy from all the blacking out and voices. I tried to make them stop anyway I could..... usually drugs would make their talking end...... soon even that wasn't good enough.... I really thought that- being dead would be so much easier then dealing with it..... ironically I fucking fear death now? And I think it's because of you, and Charlie, not Bella that bitch is fucking actually psychotic." Jane says making him laugh agreeing.

"I'm glad I got to meet you Paul....." she says making him pull her closer and kiss the top of her head. "I'm glad I got to meet you too Jane....." he says making her smile and curl up into him slightly more as the others protests were drowned out by Kay.

"Would you still love me....... If I was a corpse like Edweirdo and his shimmery pale freaky family?" Jane says making sure to add extra insults to her names for them. He pauses and looks to her with an unknown emotion..... wouldn't he?

"...... I'd love you no matter what." He says it strained and she tenses looking away from him. "But?" She asks and he sighs looking at the ceiling. "What those things are? I wouldn't want you to go through that. I wouldn't want you having to..... drink blood to survive..... I wouldn't want you like that but- I'd love you no matter what." He says making her smile grimly.... It was one of the many visions Alice and the hangman's daughter had had.

The two laid there in the weird new found silence until they had fallen asleep curled up to each other. Charlie came home and had come up stairs to say something to Jane, but he stopped seeing them like that. It was cute..... but of course he had those sad feelings about it but he didn't say anything as he left them there. It would be a conversation for later.

Knowing Janes past he didn't want to make her lash out but he also wanted her to be safe when she was ready. And he was sure she had never been given the proper talk about that type of stuff. And- he wondered if he had to give Bella the same speech....

Jane laughed hysterically as she watched Alice completely beat the shit out of Edward as they practiced waiting for the wolves. She cheered Alice on and even tried to have a one on one fight with Edward which he denied. She kept trying provoke him too but- he found it more humorous then offensive. "OH WOW LOOK AT THE SHINY DISCO BALL NOT WANTING TO FIGHT! What are you scared? I'll knock that Spanish flu right back into your dead corpse mother fucker." She says as everyone gaped at her besides Edward and Emmett both smiled and laughed.

"If you really want to fight-" Rosalie says and of course Jane was turning around ready as Rosalie tried to break free from Emmett who was quick to restrain her. The undead family didn't know who they were protecting who from. Jane blew a raspberry at him as he laughed kissing Rosalie on the neck as she looked at him with a slight snarl on her beautiful features.

"Their coming." Edward says to everyone making Jane look at him with an unimpressed look. "Great sexual pun but uh.... Arnt you a fucking virgin?" She says making him look at her before Bella steps in. "So are you Jane so just- take a chill pill." She says heatedly as Jane slowly looks to the girl giving her a once over and a snort. "Says a fellow virgin. And I've only been a virgin for 18 years..... dudes like- 500 or something."

Jane says making him shake his head smiling at her. "Actually I'mone hundred and-" he begins to correct her but she begins mocking him. "Bleh bleh bleh." She says doing the Count Dracula version from the movie Transylvania.

Jane and Emmett had watched it one night after a big UFC fight had been on. The pair found it amusing especially mocking the Cullen family with the bleh bleh bleh's.

"We really don't do that Jane. That's just from that one cartoon." He says before Emmett begins doing it with her.

As her and Emmett high five a growl emerges from atop of the hill and a group of giant wolves appears. Janes in awe seeing them all but- her eyes stray to Pauls wolf. It's eyes burned into her before it glared at Emmett making her roll her eyes at the wolf.

She steps away from the vampire easing Pauls worries but he made sure to break from formation temporarily and move her to their side. She enjoyed watching the fights between the vampires, she cheered for Emmett when Jasper took him down making her stomp an aggravated foot. Of course Jasper smirked at her frustrations and did a fake cowboy head tip. "Prick." Jane muttered making him chuckle to himself.

Carlisle vs Edward was next and Jane cheered for Carlisle like crazy and got sad when Edward took him down. Of course when Edward was suddenly knocked on his ass Jane began laughing loudly and pointing at him with mockery. "Take that you sissy little bitch!" She yelled and Carlisle wore a beaming smile at her before going to Esme.

Edward being competitive was annoyed losing and gave Jane an eye roll that only made her snicker more. "Awe did the big bad mind reading vampire get beat?" Jane says in a fake baby voice before laughing and slapping her knee as Edward shook his head walking to Bella who wore a scowl.

Edward wore a slightly amused smile already past the competitive feeling and instead wondering if Jane secretly liked him. He doubted she would ever admit it but he liked to think of her as a friend.... That constantly bullied him for every little thing.

At one point Jane began to make her way to the area for sparring but Paul was quick to usher her back with the wolves. She kept giving him an unimpressed look as the wolves and vampires snickered

Jane Challis was certainly not a damsel in distress, and she kind of wanted to prove that to everyone.

As Alice and Jasper fought Jane found her eyes watching them as Alice continued to dodge her husband. She could clearly tell Jasper was getting competitive but Alice knew how to distract him. As she leaned in for a kiss where Jasper held her chin she seemed to vanish in thin air making Jane look around freaked out.

Alice easily jumped down from the tree above her old position landing on Jasper in a hug. Jane's nose scrunched at the physical grossness she was having to watch.

Jane began fake gagging making the vampire couple share a small peck before releasing each other for Janes sake. As Jasper tried to say goodbyes to the wolves Jane stomped her foot and walked quickly once again to the middle of the sparring spot. "I'm not leaving till I get to bash someone's skull around a bit." She states crossing her arms as Jasper takes her in.

Paul could be seen ready to move and grab her but Jasper held a hand up. He walks to stand across from her and puts his hands behind his back. "Alright, give me your best." He says calmly as Jane squints at him suspiciously.

It was like a flash that's how quick Jane changed into hammerhead, she smirked with clear excitement ready to beat the vampire to a pulp. "Your gonna regret saying that blondie." Hammerhead says cracking her knuckles.

Neither moved at first and it was quite easy to see Jasper merely planned to dodge her attack with how he stood with his arms. Charging at him hammerhead kicks at him but misses due to his super speed. Every punch and kick she threw never made any contact with his cold porcelain skin.

Hammerhead easily grew agitated and tried harder but continued to miss making her pull out someone else instead...... Katy.

Out of the 60 personalities inside Jane two of them were her most used protectors.

Janes body turned from its normal form and was encased with fire as she rose in the air. Everyone was shocked to see such a strong and scary personality. Jasper began to dodge fire balls as Katy threw them quickly and with a sense of precision. If she were facing a regular human being they'd have been dead already.

This also pissed off katy and pulled someone else out, someone that could easily take care of the problem. Flit and Hammerhead began working together as Flit would teleport them to where Jasper was planned to run to. The second they'd be in that same spot at the same time hammerhead would punch the living hell out of the vampire.

After a few hits however Paul barked in a low threatening tone when Jasper went to flip hammerhead.

The vampire stopped but looked impressed with the human girl who soon turned into her usual primary personality. He announced his goodbyes to the wolves and walked away with Bella hot on his trail. Jane decided to walk to Paul and brag about getting to kick vampire ass but he looked annoyed. His wolf pouted as she rolled her eyes at protective behavior, even though in reality she loved it.

Jane sat on her bed watching Paul pace as he grumbled about her fighting the Cullens. He was both impressed and annoyed she hadn't listened to him. She just simply watched him with her eyes wearing a small confident smirk until he finally stopped and looked at her. "Oh come on Paul, you can't tell me you wouldn't have taken the opportunity to whoop son Cullen shiny ass like I did." She said confidently making him sigh and shake his head a slow amused smile making his way to his face.

She was fine and that's all that mattered to him in that moment.

"Are you excited to be graduating school in less then two days?" Jane asks to take his mind off it and he was quick to smirk at her and nod. "I get to show everyone at school my amazing girlfriend while leaving that hell hole.... It'll be one of the best days of my life." Paul says with certainty as Jane rolls her eyes at him elbowing him. "Don't get too mushy on me now Lahote. Besides your graduation is all about you." Jane says bashfully as Paul smiles at her and nods biting his lip. "First of all you being there will make it the absolute best day ever. And- you secretly like mushy." He says with a shit eating grin as she glares at him.

And he was right.

"Oh god we're that couple now- because I actually do." Jane groans laying back on her bed and wiping her face. Paul slowly eases down so he's laying beside her and just smiling at her like the Cheshire Cat. "Hey we're still better then leech lover and her leech." Paul says to make the girl better and it seems to work as Jane relaxes more and thinks about it.

"I don't think anyones worse then those two." Jane snorts and a thump on the wall makes her smile as Paul glares at it rolling his eyes. He knew Edward was in Bella's room he just didn't expect the vampire to eavesdrop.
