《Crazier Then You (Twilight // Crazy Jane)》Chapter 15

"Would you put that nasty thing out in my truck." Bella tried to say reasonably but Jane merely scoffed and took another puff. "I'm stressed because of you and your love for a vampire that's got other vampires coming here to kill not only you but our entire family so no Isabella I won't put this out." Jane took an even harsher inhale trying to calm her anxiety. She may also be bitter on the fact Bella said Jacob had come to see her last night and she knew the deep dark secret he held. The only reason she let Jane come along is because she didn't want her tires melted again.
The bags under Janes eyes were dark enough to make her look like Hammerhead, she hadn't slept in days. She's been protecting the house of any intruders and was ready to at least try and fight them off if need be. Bella slept sound fully only irking Jane more and more as she puffed her second cigarette in under 10 minutes. She didn't want to see Jacob but she put this protection detail on herself, as Charlie was safe in the station she was protecting Bella's sorry ass. "Come on." Bella demanded jumping out first thing making Jane sigh and continue to smoke outside leaning on the hood of the truck.
Bella stormed past Billy who watched Jane with a weird worried look that made her simply roll her eyes and turn away from him. A noise across the yard made Jane freeze mid inhale and look up to see four shirtless men walking towards the house. It didn't take rocket science to know who it was and Jane suddenly regretted coming even if it was keep Charlie sane knowing he'd be devastated loosing Bella. Jane rolled her eyes even more as she followed lazily behind Bella who was storming up to the mere boys. "What did you do to him He didn't want this ?" Bella asked shoving Sam surprising Jane but making her snort lowly a bit impressed.
Paul had been watching Jane wearily as she smoked and looked ready to drop at any minute but that didn't stop him from losing his temper at Bella Swan. "What did he do huh what did he tell you!" He snapped annoyed at the pale faced girl. "Nothing. He tells me nothing because he's scared of you!" Bella shouts making Jane simply look unimpressed and flick her cigarette away. "Let's just go Bella. This was just a waste of time." Jane tried to say calmly but Bella shoved her arm away roughly that tried to pull her away. "JUST SHUT UP JANE! THIS DOESNT EVEN CONCERN YOU!" Bella yelled making Jane easily turn into someone else glaring the girl down. This was someone she hadn't met.
"You know what's good you'll shut the fuck up." Sylvia said with more then one voice speaking as it said it. Her voice could've sent a chill down anyone's spine but Bella was just plain.... Stupid. "I'm not scared of you. Any of you. You crazy nutcase." Bella scoffed turning back to the boys but a new persona came out..... Lucy Fugue.
She held the lightening between her hands effortlessly as she took a threatening step forward to Bella who now looked ready to pee her pants. She hadn't know Jane had super powers, she was too involved in other things to know every single person inside Jane had one. And right now.... Someone was ready to shock her with lightening. Someone stepped in the way making Lucy hit them instead, it was Sam and it healed instantly. Jane came back feeling guilty but also freaked out at how quick Sam had healed. Bella now back to being moody simply slapped the first person she could reach. Which was Paul.

He began panting harder and harder with weird growl escaping him. "JANE! BELLA GET BACK!" Sam called and Jane did as Bella fell down. A giant wolf is what Paul transformed into right in front of them and he was going at Bella who had tried to hurt him and was rude to his imprint. Suddenly the two girls began running Jane way faster then Bella in case she needed more time to escape the class that came bearing down on her. Deep down she knew Paul wouldn't hurt her but she couldn't control her personalities so what if he couldn't control his wolf.
Suddenly Jacob came running from the house directly at us making Jane feel better for a second before he too shifted and jumped over the two girls and began fighting Paul.
Jane watched in horror as the two wolves rolled away and into the woods snapping at any form of fur or skin they could bite into. Sam soon instructing Embry and Jared to take them to Emily's. It was a quiet ride in the back of the truck with Jared as Embry and Bella sat in the cab. Jane was smoking her fourth cigarette of the day trying to numb the weird sensation running through her chest. Paul had been this the entire time, she wasn't scared of him but she wondered why he hadn't told her. That's why Jake left, that's why Embry left, and it affected their friendship.
As they pulled up Jane hopped out by herself even though Jared offered to help her. He understood why however and dropped it as she walked straight inside. Bella whining to go check on Jake making Jane scoff and walk into the kitchen. "I hope you boys are-" she stopped seeing Jane there who waved awkwardly. "Hey uh- sorry." Jane said before going and leaning on a far walk away from the table where the shirtless boys would be coming in to sit. Bella soon followed and her eyes immediately scanned Emily's face making me give her look that she ignored.
"Yeah we can hear each other's thoughts. Freaked out yet?" Jared and Embry kept pro-ding Bella which made Jane snort at how cringe her cousin was. Trying to play cool saying they weren't the first monsters she had met making Jane gag. Bella gave her a look as the boys and Emily held in a laugh. "Jane I've missed seeing you. I guess everything makes sense now huh?" Emily's asked setting the muffins down making her nod as Bella looked confused. "You've been here before?" Bella asked with distaste making Jane nod and look away not wanting to deal with her cousins sour attitude. "She apart of the pack so why wouldn't she be?" Embry slipped making Bella and Jane look confused and Bella a bit annoyed.
"How is she apart of the pack? Am I?" Bella asked making Jane snort again before grabbing her cigarettes by instinct she hadn't smoked since the asylum and now she just couldn't stop these past few days. Emily gave a disgusted look but didn't comment knowing it would trigger an aggressor but she was also worried. Jane didn't look good, even her voice sounded a bit scratchy. "Um no. It's only a title certain humans get." Jared explained not going into too much detail but Jane didn't care and kept smoking and facing her back to the group now sat at the table together.
Soon Sam nester and two voices followed that Jane knew all too well and stiffened at but didn't turn to look at them. "Sorry." Paul said clearly unapologetic to Bella and soon his eyes burned into Jane that was beginning to dose off against the wall. "Hey. Can we talk?" Paul called out making Jane sigh but shrug her shoulders really tired but wanting to hear what the big deal of his secret even was. The two walked outside and down the paths that led to the Swan residence. Jane still smoking as Paul's nose was scrunched up at the sensitive smell. He watched her face that looked oddly pale, sunk in, and dark under eyes wondering if the imprint bond had hit her harder then him somehow.

"So uh how have you been?" He asked getting a sharp look from Jane who smiled with no true happiness it looked more like a grimace. "Just fucking peachy. How about you? Been chasing your tail?" She asked bitterly but he laughed seeing as he had missed Jane even her prickly side. "No been chasing vampires actually. But you knew that you saw us in the field." He said making her tense at the memory and look around a bit paranoid. Something she had for days now. "Real funny joke. Especially while Bella's being hunted down and I could be as well." Jane snapped annoyed but Paul now looked ready to blow.
"Their after Bella? Like who?" He asked but he kind of had a feeling on who. "Some red head names Victoria. Wants revenge since Edward killed her mate or whatever. So now she wants Bella's head and I'm sure I can't stop her even with my abilities." Jane snapped throwing a cigarette away about to grab another but Paul grabbed them from her grasp. "That's enough for today, the smell makes me want to puke already." Paul said making Jane glare at him harshly but instead begin to pick her black nail polish. "And what about you? You turn into a giant dog and kill them?" She asked and he looked scared but nodded.
"I wanted to tell you but I wanted you to trust me first. I would never hurt you." Paul explained and Jane laughed cruelly. "I haven't heard that one before of wait- yes I have. And weirdly enough it was the two guys I actually started to think were different from all the other pigs." She snapped walking a bit faster making him follow on her heels. "Jane it's not just my secret to tell okay? And I was scared. I've never told anyone before and I was gonna tell you and Jake ruined it by being an ass for no reason." Paul explained but Jane kept walking not wanting him to see how hurt she was.
"Whatever. Use that as an excuse but you could have told me sooner. Did you think me of all people would not understand? I have people in my head that appear at whim when they feel fit for the occasion and you turn into a wolf." Jane said trying to hide the pain she felt but he caught it making him run ahead of her and block her path. "I was dumb okay to think you would. But- I didn't want even the smallest chance of losing you. Jane.... I imprinted on you okay? And that means I'll be whatever you want from me, even if it's not a lover but a friend or even a brother I'll do it." Pail explained even if it would pain him to settle for less he would. He wanted her romantically but if she didn't he'd understand exactly why.
"What the hell does that even mean?" Jane asked and he explained it but Jane began shaking her head. "So your forced with me? Even though you didn't want an imprint?" She asked sadly it hurt knowing he originally hated the mere idea of finding his imprint. "It's not me being forced. Looking in your eyes let me see that we were meant to be even if it's not like that." Paul explained making her look freaked out until doctor Harris explained it better in the underground. "Wait- so Emily.... It wasn't a bear." She said looking to him skeptically waiting for a lie but he more so looked sad. "Sam did that. Yeah. Sam who has his anger more put together then anyone else." Paul sighed knowing all this could be her final straw to stay away.
But Jane stayed quiet and had even fallen forward lightly landing with her forehead on his chest. Paul slowly hugged her and realized she wasn't hugging him she had fallen asleep. He swooped her legs and began carrying her to the Swan residence thankful Charlie hadn't come home yet. He walked up the stairs and went to the room that smelled most like her. As he walked in the chaotic room took him back, paintings all over the place, baby dolls bows, and even a punching bag for Hanmerhead. He gently laid her down and walked around the room taking it all in. The paintings he saw made him gulp and watch in disbelief. Wolves fighting with vampires littered the floor and walls. The vampires looking like the Cullens Jane hadn't even really met besides Edward.
Jane laid like a heavy heap on the bed and he walked over covering her with blanket when she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him down. He looked up at her surprised but she was still asleep and even looked to be regaining color to her face. So Paul did what he believed he had to do and laid in bed beside her cuddling her. He knew if she woke up she'd beat the living hell out of him, but at the same time he enjoyed feeling her small body cuddled up to his large one. Her heart beat steadily and she clung to him as tightly as possible not wanting to release him.
And for the first night since their fight Jane slept good and well, her body had been too exhausted to even sense he was there. And when Jane awoke she felt hot and sweaty as the sun rose and made her blink at the brightness. Her eyes looking for what was making her melt and landed on Paul who was sleeping peacefully rather close to her. Her immediate response was to try and break out of his hold but to o avail. She nearly shifted but took deep calming breaths trying to read the situation first. He looked to have fallen asleep and nothing more although she recognized he had at least put on a shirt.
She gently poked his face at first then began slapping and roughly pushing him until he looked at her half asleep. "Get off." She said deadly serious and he shot away from her with a worried look as she sat up and walked far to the other side of the room. "I'm sorry. You wouldn't let me go last night so I- I just stayed." He stammered getting off her bed and walking for the door as she merely nodded and didn't watch him leave. He soon texted her his apologies over and over but Jane didn't feel bad like she should. Her face instead felt hot and embarrassed yet.... She felt her energy was lively again from the small gesture.
Others in the underground wanted his head. But Jane.... And some of the others felt better like they weren't sick and tired anymore like he had taken it all away. And Jane and the others hated that because they did want to rely on a mans help.

No one, not even Essairyn, was who she thought she was. And not even the gods can change the destiny of the universes... A single promise shook eternity’s existence. — Fantasy || Adventure || Romance || Action || Mystery || Drama || Science Fiction — The My World To Live (MWTL) series, the alternative short name is Canaan, is comprised of three books symbolically named My World, To Live, and My World To Live. Two years prior, the entire story had been planned and detailed out from start to finish before actual writing. Thus, the story will never be dropped. While the genre is largely Fantasy, the book is comprised of many other elements including a School Life (Magic Academy) story portion. MWTL has a lot of scattered symbolism and allusions, hence, the mystery aspect. The science fiction elements progressively become more pronounced, and the slow romance is a late bloomer. The female lead is strong and independent, and her backstory and identity unravel as drivers of the plot. Expect lots of action/fighting throughout and scattered philosophical and psychological themes arising. It's a human journey to find the essence of one's living and purpose. What kind of world do I wish to live for? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. I hope to share the journey with you~! Canaan's Original and New Covers: If you're curious about my art and the various covers I made for this series and other authors, I have a RR thread that makes free covers and shows art processes. [October 1, 2020 Notice: Hello, I aplogize to all followers for suddenly taking an extended hiatus. Life threw a lot at my face and then the pandemic happened, so I hadn't been able to write until around the last month when I decided to challenge myself and finish the first book in this series. I am ok now, and thank you for your patience and understanding. No words can express how much every reader means to me. RR was the first writing platform that I ever felt accomplished to any small degree, so I am forever grateful to it. Multiples changes have been made since this final revision and writing of the ending, so please see the latest chapter detailing the update. This also includes my decision to submit this story to the 2020 Wattys contest (the deadline was Sept 30th). That means I will not be posting the updated version of this story on here until the contest is over (since I doubt I'll win anyway lol). And so, if you want to read the full, now completed (woohoo!) story, please go to my Wattpad. Thank you once again, and wishing you all the very best health and happiness! FINAL UPDATE, March 7, 2021: The complete story has been re-posted after the Wattys. This version that was on Wattys is the one being re-posted. However, the Final Version (which will be on a separate book from this to remain organized, and is technically the fifth version of the story xD) will be released May 2021. For more information, please read this update linked here. Thank you to all readers for taking this two year journey with me!

Tales of Ordinary, Completely Unremarkable Contractors
"Where life had no value, death, sometimes, had its price. That is why the mercenaries appeared." - Artur Xerxes, in A Century of Disappointment: Memoirs of a Travelling Dwarf It's never too difficult to land contracts for a set very specialised skills in a continent teeming with werewolves, vampires, giant leopards, undead and, god forbid, elves. The difficulty comes when these contractors find themselves suffocated in the dense atmosphere of this world's rigid - and mostly unfair - rules; death, suffering and misfortune await those unwilling to sacrifice to bend these in their favour. In this non-linear plot, you will observe a scarred and deformed farm girl cashing her first bounty posters, a seemingly ordinary barmaid at a tavern in the bustling centre of a sprawling, corrupt city and an enigmatic leader of a firm specialising in dealings any other would consider suicidal. Watch them all take everything to the next level at every available opportunity, and then feel dread at the thought that this still might not be enough to halt the physical embodiment of doom about to do what it does best Please, feel free to review and comment! Any sort of feedback can help me become a better writer and write more engaging stories for you. I used to update once every 3-5 days, but this rewrite is taking much too long...I do hope it will be worth it.
