《Crazier Then You (Twilight // Crazy Jane)》Chapter 12

Once the movie finally ended Jake and Bella never returned, and neither did Mike but Jane didn't really care for him anyway. "So what's the move Swan you hungry?" Paul asked as they began walking out of the theater towards his truck. "Food. Definitely need food I'm starving." Jane groaned grabbing her stomach to show she was hungry. Paul laughed before hopping in his truck with Jane in suit.
"How about pizza? Theirs a small restaurant just down the road. Unless you hate pizza then we can get something else."He asked making her look at him like he was dumb. But Paul just wanted this to go well so maybe she'd hangout with him again. "Of course I like pizza, everyone likes pizza." She stated with a bit of attitude that he actually found cute. "Pizza it is then. You don't mind anchovies then do you?" He asked jokingly but Jane raised an eyebrow and scrunched up her nose in disgust.
"If you get a single hairy fish while eating around me I will kill you with it." She sneered also joking although her humor can be hard to pick up on. Paul just laughed at her thinking of her trying to do it, and he could see her accomplishing it. He shook his head as they pulled, the place definitely was busy but casual which Jane was happy about. She wasn't exactly the type to go to fancy restaurants, and if she did she usually would get in a fight with an overweight hypocritical businessman in under five minutes...... according to them she's not lady like.
Walking in Janes eyes looked around the place in curiosity as the waitress came over looking Paul up and down. Jane just bit her tongue not really having a right to snap about it. "Table for one?" She asked almost hopefully ignoring Janes presence all together. Paul seemed to pick up on it and glared a bit which to anyone was intimidating.... well besides Jane. "No two." He said gruffly as the waitress nodded a bit fearfully now as she began leading them to a booth in the far back.
"Alright what to drink?" The girl asked nicely again only looking at Paul clearly not sensing he wasn't just in a bad mood he simply was annoyed by her mere presence. "Just Pepsi please." Jane replied bored as she looked at the weird decor that was somewhat fascinating. The girl quickly wrote it down not even glancing at Jane her eyes looked hungrily at Paul who was beginning to get pissed off. "I'll have the same." He sighed not even looking at her and instead watching Janes eyes look around the place.
"Coming right up." She smiled but it quickly died down as she saw him not even giving her the time of day. She rushed to the back and Janes eyes caught her talking to a bunch of other female co workers and snorted. "What's so funny?" Paul asked smirking at her thinking it was cute. "The waitress seems to be quite infatuated with you. So much so she appears to be putting something in my cup." Jane smiled sickly sweet as she saw faintly through the door that the beach blonde was pouring something into her drink.

"Are you serious? I'm just gonna ask for someone else then." Paul practically growled in anger while Jane held a hand up with a smile. "Nah I've got it. I've been itching for a fight all week." She smiled best example like an axe murder on the hunt and it made Paul happy yet worried what she meant. As the blonde walked back over the girl now had eyes on both of them, she purposely pushed the contaminated drink towards Jane. Jane smiled sickly sweet before in a flash turning into baby doll, before anyone could really even say anything Baby doll used her telekinesis. The drink pouring all over the waitress and staining her white shirt a light brown.
Immediately Jane was back to herself laughing as Paul busted out laughing at the other girls expense as well . He was a bit surprised by the power he just witnessed but he never feared Jane. The girl huffed aggressively going to clean herself as Jane got the attention of a manager waving him down. "Hi I'm sorry I'm not usually one to complain but your waitress seems to have taking a liking to my dear boyfriend here. It's just ruining our anniversary could we have someone else please? Also she seemed to have messed up my Pepsi." Jane said with big ole puppy dog eyes that made the man agree instantly and rush to the kitchen.
"Your pretty devious you know." Paul stated with a smile that made Janes stomach do flips. "Mmm you didn't seem to mind? I mean ya gotta admit it was funny." She smirked as he simply looked at her. "What did I get Pepsi on me or something?" She asked as she wiped her face but he shook his head still wearing the smile. "No I just enjoy your company is all." He said looking at the menu as Jane closed hers and seemed to look like she was thinking. "I suppose your not the worst company in the world. And yes from me to you that is a compliment." She said it so matter of fact Paul was happy but he wanted more.
"So I'm not as bad as other men is what your saying?" Paul smiled also closing his menu and looking at her intensely. But Janes smile fell and she wouldn't look at him, he furrowed his brows now confused. "All men are the same. All of them want something. I don't trust them anymore. I hardly trust Jake." Jane said exasperated and just staring at her Pepsi the man had just delivered. Paul looked hurt but it also made his stomach churn, what could have happened to make Jane hate men so much. Maybe it was a moment of realization, or maybe all the clues added up suddenly:
"Jane....... do you hate men because-?" He wasn't saying it he seemed to be shaking throughout his entire body. Janes eyes widened in shock at his words as she kept her eyes still on the Pepsi, it didn't take a rocket scientist to guess what he had been hinting at. She finally glanced up at him and noticed his anger but she wrapped her arms around herself for comfort. "It's fine Paul it was a while ago." She whispered but she could hardly look at him. She didn't want that sympathetic look she always got. She had been raped by her father as a child as her mother was at work and especially after her death. Then again by a priest who she went to for help at a church admission. It's why Jane had her personalities. Then the scientists experimented on her in the looney bin giving her the powers.

But Paul didn't care how long ago it was, her reaction alone made him want to kill the man who'd done it. "Who? When? I'll kill them." He seethed but Jane just shook her head. "He's already dead Paul..... and the other guy...... he's probably an old man now." She mumbled as the manager came to take their order. The blonde glared at them from the other table she was waiting on. After taking their order he seemed freaked by Paul's stiff demeanor and shaking that was beginning to frighten Jane. "Two men...... did that to you? If the ones dead I'll kill the other." He said through gritted teeth. Jane simply laid a hand on his arm to try and calm him, it helped but it didn't stop him from shaking.
"Paul I had a bad...... I'd say childhood but I guess life so far. And I hate to get hopeful but- since moving here I've never been happier in life. Things are better here. Please just don't worry on vengeful thoughts, believe me it wears you down." Jane said in thought and Paul seemed to take deep breaths that were helping. He wasn't about to shift but he was furious. Someone had stolen the innocence of his imprint and it made him want blood. "I'll try but Jane it pains me to know someone hurt you like that. And now I understand why........ I will be whatever you want from me. And I promise to take things slow and be there for you." He said grabbing her hand that rested on his arm lightly as not to spook her.
"It may take you awhile." Jane grimaced at the thought but he looked determined. "I'd wait an eternity if that's what you wanted." He said deadly serious and the two stared at each other with an emotion Jane couldn't decipher. But it made her wonder if it would be as long as she said or sooner. Paul just made her feel different then other guys, he seemed to genuinely care. But her guard was up, he had been a player. Although it was hard to believe when he acted and spoke like this, but it made her wonder if it was all an act.
—————————————————
They soon moved past the topic to keep both their emotions in check. They talked about Paul's childhood which seemed a lot brighter then hers, so she avoided talking about it. But now that Paul knew he understood why and didn't push, instead he asked her about the other personalities. She told him all about the underground, and explained to him how she was the primary since Miranda left. He began asking about Miranda but Jane seemed to shut down talking about it making him change the subject quickly.
The blonde from earlier glared at them the entire time which received a middle finger from Hammerhead. Paul laughed and the girl just hid in the back embarrassed. They just talked and talked and Jane felt something weird inside that all the personalities felt uneasy about. It was like a flicker, they'd felt this once with Miranda when she had a boyfriend. It was a crush, and it was emitting from Jane. And Jane seemed to feel it non stop even as they left the restaurant.
As Paul's truck pulled in the driveway Jane actually felt sad the night was ending. "I am pained to say this but I actually had fun Paul." She smiled genuinely making him smile so big it hurt his face. "I did too. So when can our next date be?" He asked making Jane laugh. Every time he'd joking call it a date she'd turn it down. "I don't know let me think about it." She said hopping out of his truck not noticing the blush or shocked expression he wore that soon turned into that smile she loved to see.
"I'll see you later Paul" she called awkwardly before walking towards the front door. She wore the biggest smile and she loved how happy she was in that moment. And as Paul drove off honking as a goodbye she felt this pull in her stomach, and realized it meant she missed him. She'd never felt like this about anyone and it scared her to death. She walked in a daze still smiling past Charlie who sat in the kitchen with Bella and up the stairs. Both of the Swans looked at each other with raised eyebrows but chose not to comment on it. But they were both happy for Jane.
Paul went straight to Emily's knowing she'd want details and the boys would groan in annoyance at him but he didn't care. He also would get upset when his mind would drift to Janes past. He knew he'd be outside punching a tree to get the anger out or shift but for now he chose to suppress it. This wasn't something he'd just forget about but he would try to make Janes life better and he'd definitely protect her from that EVER happening to her again.
Paul Lahote was crazy about Crazy Jane Swan. And he loved it.

Most of it is already written, but I'm going through the chapters and editing the shit out of them. This story is NOT a Lit-RPG, so no blue screens or anything of the sort. It is just fast-paced fiction with slight cultivation elements. Updates are bi-daily (so every 2 days), and chapters are 1500-3000 words. As always, feedback is more than welcome. Why are you still reading the synopsis? You have already decided. Go ahead, give this story a shot. It's worth it.
