There's no sight of the strange girl in today's seminar, and for that, I don't know whether I should be over the moon, or a little disappointed. Besides, I know I shouldn't allow myself to get distracted.

However, when my eyes constantly drift over to the empty seat beside me, I'm left wondering if it's because I was intrigued by the familiarity of her presence-or lack thereof at this point in time-or if it's due to the black leather bound journal that weighed heavily at the bottom of my backpack.

Either way, the distraction was not worth it. I knew that, but our brief, nothing short of ridiculous, interaction yesterday reminded me so much of-no, never mind. I sigh for the umpteenth time, despite only being here for a good fifteen minutes and drag my eyes back to the front of the room. Noticing my discomfort, Jai shifts beside me and nudges me with his elbow.

Why do you look like your cat died?He says, leaning over slightly as he lowers his voice. I make out the hint of amusement lingering in his tone before he nods to my Nike backpack. You hiding something?

I stare at him blankly and clear my throat, I should return her journal. The words tumble past my lips in a careless, indistinguishable manner, barely decipherable. Jai furrows his brow and parts his lips in confusion.

You're stressing over some dumb book? A book that belongs to a girl you barely know?He states matter-of-factly, slowly as if he misunderstood the meaning of my words. It's not that deep, Judah. Give it to Valentino, I'm sure he'll be more than happy to return it.

Though he meant well, his words had me slightly irritated. I could... no, I should, but I don't think I will,I murmur, eyes following the shadowy figure at the front, barely paying attention to the gibberish that flowed past their lips.

Why not? He snorts, leaning back into his seat. Found something interesting?

I sigh, running my fingertips along the numerous words and pictures engraved on the wooden bench, and shake my head. Aiyana, her name rolls off my tongue as I turn to Jai, She's fucking weird, but I'm not going to lie... I'm intrigued.

Was it shock written across his face? Surprise? Disappointment? I couldn't tell, but I knew exactly what he was thinking, and judging by the look on his face, he didn't like it one bit.

I don't like where you're going with this, but if this has anything to do with-Jai's quick to deflect his words, clearing his throat, before continuing, Don't do something you'll regret.

And for the first time during our conversation, I roll my pen between my fingers and smirk. Bad decisions make great stories, Jai. Besides... a little fun won't hurt.
