Chapter 36~

Mason grunted laying there looking at the sky, "I don't know what's taking so long" I whimpered holding my hands down putting pressure on his torso.

I let the tears roll down my cheeks looking at the warm blood soaking through my hands. "Jordyn" he mumbled quietly "just stay quiet. You're going to be fine" I whispered looking at him "jordyn" he whispered putting his hand on my thigh.

"They're coming. They're coming and you're going to be okay" I said nodding looking at my bloody hands. "You need to leave" he said "no. I'm not leaving you here-"

"She'll come back" he whispered and shut his eyes in pain making me whimper. "I'm not leaving you" I whispered shaking my head.

He grunted looking up towards the sky and his eyes slowly closed making my heart stop "No! Mason keep your eyes open!" I cried loudly.

"Mason!" I sobbed shaking him and heard footsteps, "Luna!" I heard and I looked up at Dr. Reynolds running to us with Evan behind him, Evan grabbed me pulling me away and I sobbed loudly looking at Mason laying there. Dr. Reynolds got on his knees next to him looking at the wound getting to work quickly.

"Are you hurt? Jordyn look at me! Are you hurt?" Evan asked checking me and I just stared at Mason's limp body....

3 days earlier....

I climbed on Mason's back quickly and he growled grabbing the back of my thigh flipping me over. I squealed holding his hair making him fall with me, "ah! You can't pull hair" he growled and I giggled laying there "hey if I'm fighting I can do whatever I want" I said

"Let me go"

"You first" I said as he held my leg, he growled letting me go and I let his hair go. I sighed laying on the mat and he shook his head rubbing his scalp. "Why did I agree to train you again?" He sighed sitting down.

"Because you love me and you want me to be able to protect myself" I smiled innocently making him roll his eyes. He sat up hovering over me and kissed my lips, I smiled kissing back wrapping my arms around his neck.

He sighed rubbing my waist deepening the kiss and I lifted my hips pushing him off me and flipped is over quickly straddling his hips.

He growled at me and I giggled pinning his wrists down above his head "I thought you said the number one rule is to never be distracted?" I whispered making him smirk.

I squealed as he flipped me over making me fly up and land on my back behind him grunting. "You were distracted" he smirked "jerk" I said and he chuckled standing up, I crawled to him quickly biting his ankle making him fall "did you just bite me?" He said wide eyed and I giggled.

"Maybe. To be fair you always bite me" I said motioning to the bite marks on my neck making him grin. He stood up quickly and I squealed crawling away giggling "this is supposed to be training jordyn. This isn't a game" he chuckled standing over me, "oh lighten up. It can be fun and serious at the same time"

"Not for me. If you want me to train you i need you to take this seriously" he said helping me up and I pouted "you're no fun" I said making him roll his eyes. "Just get into position" he said

"Which one?" I asked and he grinned at me actually wiggling his eyebrows "not like that pervert!" I said hitting his shoulder making him snicker.

Gosh I love playful Mason.

"Love you too" he smirked making me blush.

I watched as Mason's black wolf walked around the area looking for god knows what. He's been looking around on alert when there's nothing there all the time now.

'He's just being protective' sarafina growled

Or just paranoid.

She rolled her eyes laying down putting her head on her paws sighing and he walked to us. He licked my fur making me get up and I wined

'I'm tired' I groaned

'So let's get back. Evan just told me Alpha Logans is back with some of his pack members' he said and I sighed standing up.

I glared at him waking and gasped as he bit my bottom pushing me, I growled at him. And he gave me a grin running off.

I sighed letting sarafina take over letting her run after him happily feeling the breeze go through her fur feeling free.

Soon we reached the pack house and Evan stood there holding some clothes and a blanket.

I looked at the people standing there and Mason's wolf stood up straighter giving the sense of authority making sarafina growl with pride.

Evan handed him his clothes and Mason shifted pulling up his pants. "I couldn't find clothes for her" Evan mumbled holding out a blanket.

Mason glared at him snatching the blanket and put it around me, I shifted sitting on my knees holding the blanket around me covering myself.

"What's so hard about looking for something to wear?" Mason grumbled "oh relax" I said rolling my eyes and he just grumbled walking to Alpha Logans. I stood up holding the blanket around me biting my lip and Evan put his jacket around me helping me in the house.

"I can go by myself you know" I chuckled looking at him "I know. I just wanted to get away before Mason kills me for not getting your clothes" he mumbled making me smile. I ran upstairs to the room and went in my closet, I bit my lip going through the piles of clothes that I just let lay around and put on some shorts and one of mason's shirt.

I hummed putting my hair in a ponytail looking in the mirror and froze seeing Anna standing in the doorway.

I turned around looking at her "Hey" I said

"Is there a problem?" She asked frowning "what do you mean?" I asked putting on my shoes.

"You barely talk to me as much. Did I do something wrong?" She asked sadly. If I knew she was a traitor I would've felt bad... But I don't. It was all a lie.

"Have I? I just thought you'd want some space dealing with the wedding and all" I said looking at her.

"Are you kidding me? It's stressful. I need my best friend" she pouted making me look down.

Right... Best friend...

Sarafina growled lowly staring at her, "Jordyn?" We heard and I looked seeing Mason. He looked at Anna with hard eyes making her sigh "whatever. I'm gonna go then" she muttered walking out.

Mason watched her walk away glaring at her making me chuckle. "Stop" I said making him look at me, he growled lowly "change your clothes" he said.

"What? No" I scoffed "I don't want anyone looking at your legs now change"

"Mason I'm not changing. It's just shorts-"

"Jordyn-"

"No. It's blazing hot outside. If I want to wear short I'll wear shorts" I said standing up and he growled laying me down on the bed roughly climbing on me. "Change" he said lowly

"Stop!" I snapped angrily pushing him away "Jordyn just fucking listen-"

"Are we seriously fighting about me wearing shorts?" I scoffed standing up. He sat on the bed glaring at my legs making me roll my eyes, "honestly Mason. Get over it. It's not like I'm naked" I muttered making him growl.

I sighed climbing on his lap holding his shoulders making him look at me. "They're just legs Mason"

"Yeah but only I can see them-"

"What did Alpha Logans want?" I asked rubbing his shoulders, he clenched his jaw knowing I was trying to change the subject. "He's just checking in to see if we know anything about the facility yet" he mumbled rubbing my legs.

I ran my fingers through his hair sighing "have you found out anything?" I asked and he shook his head. "She's no cooperating well" he said

"I would like to try" I said making Sarafina grin evilly "nice try. I'm not letting you anywhere near her" he said pulling me closer putting his face in my neck.

"Sarafina and I are pretty good at interrogations-"

"Not happening. Ever" he said Tightening his grip on me, "fine" I said rolling my eyes. I gasped as he pinched my butt making me smile.

"He and some of his pack mates are going to stay here for a few days. I don't really trust them so I want you to stay by my side everyday until they leave"

"Do I have too?" I sighed and he growled lowly "Yes"

"Fine. Okay" I said wrapping my arms around his neck. "I can't risk you getting hurt" he said rubbing my wait "I know" I mumbled stroking his hair hoping to calm down his tension.

He sighed laying down with me on top of him stroking my back. I smiled snuggling closer playing with his hair..

I sighed hugging my pillow hearing soft whispering echo around the room making me frown. I heard three loud thuds on the floor making me tighten my grip on my pillow moaning softly. I sighed laying there hearing whispers outside the door. "He would kill us if we bring her down there"

"Well what else are we supposed to do? He can kill anyone in this state"

I frowned opening my eyes blinking and looked around the bedroom. I never realised that I had fallen asleep, I sighed sitting up running my fingers through my hair and looked at the time seeing it was 1:34 in the morning.

I frowned looking next to me seeing Mason wasn't in bed making me look at the door. I stood up seeing I was wearing my pyjama pants making me roll my eyes picturing Mason changing my shorts.

I sighed walking to the door opening it and peeked out seeing Evan and Aarlik talking quietly with nervous expressions.

"What's going on?" I asked my voice filled with sleepiness. "Aw crap" Evan mumbled and I walked out looking at them feeling how nervous and anxious they were "what's going on? is it Mason?" I asked tensely.

"He's fine. Go back to sleep-"

"Evan. We need her" Aarlik said and I just frowned "tell me" I said crossing my arms over my chest.

"We had to lock Mason in a cell" Evan said making my eyes widened "You did what?!"

"We were doing an interrogation on Alissa with Alpha Logans and I don't know what happened. Alissa... That witch said something and he just snapped. His wolf took control and almost killed everyone. I didn't know what to do Jordyn" he said wide eyed making me sigh.

"Calm down. I can feel how anxious you both are" I said walking closer "we don't know what to do. I was trying to tell Evan that you can be able to calm him down-"

"She can calm Mason down. Not Jace"

"She's his mate. She can do it, I've seen things like this happen before-"

"But this is different. Jace is dangerous. Especially when the Witch is down there with him. Anything can happen and I'm not letting her get hurt. You need to think of her safety Aarlik" Evan growled making me grab his arm.

"I am. I'm also thinking about everyone else's safety" Aarlik said shaking his head. "He's right. What if Mason.. I mean Jace breaks out. He can hurt anyone" I said making Evan look at me "He can probably hurt Scott" I said making him tense up.

He sucked his teeth running his fingers through his hair, "you stay with us the whole time. Understand?" He said and I nodded "let me put on my shoes" I said going to my room.

"I can't believe you're making me do this" Evan muttered as I slipped on my boots and my light grey sweater.

"Trust me. I'll work out" Aarlik said as I walked out the room closing the door behind me. "Okay" I said putting my hair in a messy ponytail. Evan grumbled walking downstairs and Aarlik motioned me to walk.

I bit my lip following Evan with Aarlik behind me, we walked out the house and i shivered at the cool wind. I hugged the sweater around me hugging myself as we walked behind the house towards the forest.

I wonder what exactly happened.

Why would he snap like that?

What did she say to him?

Why did it effect him so badly?

Evan unlocked the wooden doors which lead to the dark cellar making me tense. Can this get any more creepy?

He walked down the steps and held his hand out for me "these steps are steep" he mumbled, I grabbed his hand and we walked downstairs. I looked behind me making sure Aarlik was there and he was closing the doors.

I bit my lip looking around hugging Evan's arm nervously. This place honestly looked like a dungeon from the mid-evil times, "remember what I said" Evan whispered to me and I nodded tightening my grip on his arm.

We walked down the long corridor and I tried to look inside the cells as we passed by. "Which one is he in?" I asked "the one in the end. It's the strongest one" he said nodding towards the end where I saw the guards standing in front of two doors.

I tensed hearing a woman laughing and Sarafina growled lowly. "Is that her?" I whispered and Evan nodded clenching his jaw.

I looked at the tall guards and gulped as they looked very intimidating. They looked at me and bowed their heads "Luna" they said. I smiled nervously at them as we approached the other cell.

"You brought her?" Alpha Logans said and I peeked out from behind Evan. "I'm not happy with this but we did"

"It'll work" He said and I gulped hearing deep growling from within the cell. "Are you sure you want to do this?"

"Yeah. I-im sure" I said

'Wow, you sound so convincing' sarafina said sarcastically making me bite my lip. "We'll be out here if anything" a guard with blonde hair said

"We can protect you Luna" another with black hair said making me grow more nervous. How dangerous is he exactly?

"Luna?! What Luna?!" I heard the witch yell making me clench my jaw. "Quiet!" Evan snapped angrily making me squeeze his arm.

"Open the cell for her" Aarlik said "wait what?! You didn't tell me she has to go in" Evan said putting me behind him. "It's going to be fine Evan. We know you're really protective of her but this will work" Alpha Logans said.

I touched Evan's arm gently "listen to them" I whispered making him look at me. He clenched his jaw letting me go and sighed loudly. "Ready?" The guard with black hair asked and I nodded walking to the door nervously.

"Do you want to take this just in case?" Logans said holding a small knife. I looked at him like he was crazy "trust me" he said

"I'm not going to hurt my own mate" I said shaking my head "He can hurt you-"

"But I won't hurt him. I won't be needing that" I said and he sighed nodding. They took out the key and I bit my lip standing there as he opened the door a little bit into the dark cell.

I gulped nervously slowly walking inside, the door closed behind me and I looked around hearing shuffling in the darkness. The door locked with a loud slam making me jump, I gulped hugging myself nervously and peeked through the small window.

"Can you give us some privacy?" I asked

"No" Evan muttered

"Evan, please. I'll be fine" I said softly, "we'll be down the hall" Aarlik said and pulled Evan with him. I sighed standing there and turned around looking into the darkness.

"Mason?" I called out slowly, I bit my lip feeling eyes on me making me gulp. "J-Jace?" I whispered slowly walking more into the cell trying to look for him.

"They shouldn't have brought you here" I heard across the room making me gasp. I hugged myself looking around going to the sound his voice came from.

"Where are you?" I asked

"You need to leave" his voice said darkly which sounded terrifying. I took a deep breath standing my ground, "I'm not leaving you" I said and he just growled.

"Where are you?" I asked again feeling around touching the cold stone wall. I traced my fingers on it feeling my leg touch a bench.

I bit my lip feeling around until I felt his warm skin, "found you" I sighed in relief. He sat there in silence breathing deeply, I sat next to him tracing my fingertips down his arm.

He sat there tensely and I grabbed his hand holding it, "what did they think they would accomplish by bringing you here?" He growled angrily.

"They're just trying to help" I said shrugging "right. Helping" he said snatching his hand away from me making me jump. "Ma-Jace. We need you to calm down" I said reaching for him again "calm down?" He snorted shaking his head.

I sat there crossing my legs leaning against the wall grabbing his hand again. I intertwined our fingers stroking his arm and we just sat in silence.

"You have everyone scared out there-"

"I don't give a fuck" he muttered tightening his grip on my hand. I moved closer hugging his arm and softly kissed his shoulder sighing. "They're all fucking idiots" he growled loudly shaking his head, "putting my own mate in danger" he whispered shaking his head.

"They don't know what else to do" I said shaking my head "putting you in here with me shouldn't even be a choice. They should know that!" He snapped making me jump.

I felt his grip tighten on my thigh and I sighed smiling softly, he's still in there. That protective instinct is there.

"Jace... Will you hurt me?" I whispered and he stood shut "no. But I can't control myself. I might" he muttered holding my hand.

I slowly stood up and climbed on his lap making him tense, I wrapped my arms around his neck grabbing his cheek making him look at me. "Don't let her get to you" I whispered

"She ruined us" he muttered "I know. I can't imagine how you're feeling right now but I want to make it go away. I don't want you to feel that pain anymore" I said stroking his hair.

"It can't go away. It never will" he said making my heart sink. I put my hand on his chest sighing "you can't let her win... You can't let her control you" I said shaking my head. I sat up looking at him and straddled his lap making him tense. He gripped my hips tightly looking at me with black eyes, "you are stronger that this. Stronger than her-"

"You wouldn't understand what she's done to us-"

"I don't and like I said before I can't imagine how you feel but what I'm trying to say is that you can't let her beat you down. You need to gain control of yourself and prove that to her. She can't control you. She can't hurt you anymore" I said cupping his face.

He leaned into my touch shaking his head "it's not that easy"

"It never is" I whispered putting my forehead on his. He wrapped his arms around my waist pulling me closer against him, my heart melted realising that he was hugging me tightly. I wrapped my arms around his neck hugging him back running my fingers through his hair.

"I'm tired of this" he whispered holding me, I sighed putting my head on his wishing I could just take his pain away. He didn't deserve this...

Nobody deserves this.

I jumped as there was a loud knock on the door making Jace growl holding me closer, I winced as his nails dug into my skin deeply. "Luna? Is everything alright?" One of the guards asked

"We're fine! Leave!" Jace yelled, I put my forehead on his rubbing his cheek "shh" I whispered stroking his hair. "Luna?"

"We're fine. We'll be right out!" I said out loud as he put his face in my neck loosening his grip on me.

"Alright" the guard said walking away, "look at me" I said and he sighed looking at me, "can you be able to stay calm? I don't want you in here but you need to promise me you won't go crazy in the house" I said and he just grumbled.

"M- Jace please" I whispered and he sighed rubbing my waist looking down, "He wants kids you know" he said touching my stomach making me freeze. "What?" I frowned "Mason. He wants to have kids with you" he said and I just sighed, "Jace promise me"
