Chapter 21 ~ Mason the d*ck

"Do you think they took her?" I asked pacing back and forth nervously thinking about Jordyn. It's been hours and she or Mason isn't back yet. "I hope not" Anna mumbled sitting there eating her chicken.

"Come sit down" she said patting the spot next to her.

"I can't stay still. I haven't heard from Mason yet and there's no sign of Jordyn, and Aarlik hasn't responded to me" I muttered running my fingers through my hair.

She stood up grabbing me cupping my face and I sighed closing my eyes at the sparks feeling my wolf calm down. I put my head on her shoulder and she rubbed my arms.

"Everything will be okay. You just need to relax. You're stressing yourself out" she said softly and I sighed putting my palm on her small baby bump feeling the bond of our pup.

The doors opened making us pull away and Mason walked in with his jaw clenched angrily making us tense. He held the door open and Daniel stepped in the room holding Jordyn in his arms.

She had her arms wrapped around his neck tightly with her face in his neck and he looked at me.

I sighed in relief seeing her, "Our room is upstairs" Mason muttered and Daniel just walked up the stairs.

"What happened?" Anna asked and he sighed "She's stupid that's what" he muttered making her tense. "She left on her own. That fucker was out there, he had her in his hands and she freaking leaves by herself because she misses her daddy" he growled punching the wall making Anna jump.

"Mason calm down-"

"Don't fucking tell me to calm down!" He yelled making my wolf cower.

"He's right Mason. Imagine being in her shoes. She's in heat which means she isn't in her right mind and she's afraid-"

"I don't care! How idiotic do you have to be to leave the safest place when the man who wants to kill you is 3 feet away?!" He yelled and we heard a growl.

We looked seeing Daniel standing there "how dare you call my daughter idiotic" he growled lowly and I stood in between them.

"Guys calm down" Anna said nervously "Anna leave" I said quickly and she looked at me worriedly.

"Go to Jordyn and watch her" I said and she nodded walking out quickly grabbing her plate of chicken along the way making me roll my eyes.

I looked back at the guys whom were staring at each other angrily. "First off back away from each other" i said going in between them. Daniel backed away clenching his jaw and Mason walked to his desk running his fingers through his hair.

"I understand you were worried about your mate but as the girl said picture being in her shoes" Daniel said and Mason shook his head.

"You know she acts before she thinks. She's always been like that and that won't change. She's just like her mother" he muttered sighing.

"He was here. He had her-"

"I understand that. She told me everything. She's terrified and she doesn't know what to do-"

"So she leaves when he's on her trail?! We specifically told her to go to a safe place in the house and she leaves the damn house! She never listens" Mason growled.

"She's a fucking dumb-ass!Why did I have to mated with an idiot?" He spat and we heard a soft gasp making us all tense. I looked up seeing Jordyn standing in the doorway with a hurt expression.

She bit her lip with watery eyes and walked away quickly running upstairs. Mason sighed leaning on his desk closing his eyes and Daniel just walked out going upstairs with a clenched jaw.

"There's no need to call her names" I muttered crossing my arms over my chest. "It's true" he said staring out the window, "I know you don't know how to handle these emotions your feeling-"

"You don't know what I feel Evan. She drives me insane" he said shaking his head "good. She's not like the other girls who does everything you say. She keeps you on your toes" I snorted and he glared at me making me clear my throat. "Listen, what I'm trying to say is just because you don't know how to handle emotions that doesn't mean you need to be more of a dick. Especially to Jordyn. She's going through enough shit right now and she doesn't need you being pissed at her and being an asshole on top of all this mess" i said shaking my head.

I went to walk out sighing "I was scared" he mumbled making me stop. I looked at him as he stared down at the floor, "I was scared that they took her... I thought I was done feeling scared and weak... But she... She makes me feel vulnerable and I hate that. I always promised myself to never feel like that" he said sighing deeply.

"It's okay to feel scared Mason. Alpha or not there's nothing wrong with it. Emotions like this are a part of life" I said and he shook his head "I feel weak" he said and I sighed leaning against the wall.

The door opened and Daniel walked in, he sighed putting his hands in his pockets. "I'm taking her back to the house" he said and Mason tensed standing up straight. "She need time away from all of this. And you" he said glaring at Mason with hard eyes.

"You're not taking her from me" Mason said darkly "she wants to go" he said making Mason freeze.

"Just a few weeks. Things will calm down. Her heat will be over soon and you can get your shit together and so will she. Then if she's ready I'll bring her back" he said shrugging.

Mason looked at me with a lost expression not knowing what to say.

"How many weeks?" I asked making Daniel look at me, "that's up to her" he said and I sighed nodding looking at Mason.

'It's true... She does need a break from this bullshit. Being in her old home will help a little.'

"Fine" Mason muttered looking away with a pained expression. "It's for the best"

"Whatever just go" Mason said walking to the window. Daniel sighed walking out the room and I followed him out leaving Mason alone.

I closed the door and soon heard things being thrown around against the wall making me sigh.

"Got everything?" Daniel asked as Jordyn put on her sweater, "I didn't really have much in the first place" she shrugged and he nodded taking her bag. Ian limped over and Daniel helped him out, "you know you don't have to go" Jordyn said looking at his limp.

"Traveling will slow down the healing process. You need to be on bed rest" she said looking up at him.

"Well you should've been too" he mumbled making her roll her eyes.

"Plus, I don't want to be here alone" he mumbled, "but you won't be" she frowned "he means he doesn't want to be here without you" I said and Jordyn rolled her eyes. Ian chuckled walking out with Daniel and they got into the car.

"You'll call right?" Anna mumbled with watery eyes "Anna don't cry" Jordyn said hugging her and Anna hugged her tightly. "I'll call you okay?" Jordyn said wiping her tears away.

"You better come back soon" Anna chuckled and Jordyn smiled. She walked to me hugging me tightly and I hugged her back kissing her temple. "Watch out for him please" she whispered and I nodded. "I always do" I said and she smiled pulling away.

She looked at the closed door down the wall and I saw her eyes water. "I'll talk to you guys soon" she whispered walking away quickly with a tear rolling down her cheek.

Anna sighed wrapping her arms around my waist and I kissed her head looking at Jordyn getting in the car.

"I'm going to check on Mason" I said and Anna sighed nodding. I walked away going down the hall and knocked on the door, I opened it looking around seeing the whole office was trashed and Mason sitting on the floor in the corner.

I closed the door behind me and walked to him sitting next to him, "she's gone isn't she?" He mumbled staring at his hands.

"She just left now" I said and he sighed leaning back. He sniffed and I looked at him surprised seeing his eyes water.

He's crying...

He's actually crying.

I've never seen him cry before.

"She'll come back soon" I said patting his back, "I don't know what I'll do without her" he whispered shaking his head.

You shouldn't have been a dick then.

"I heard that" he growled and I tensed "sorry" I mumbled "your right though. It's my fault" he mumbled.

"Not all of it" I said and he just closed his eyes shaking his head.

"So he actually cried?" Anna chuckled and I looked at her frowning "why are you laughing?" I asked. "I just never thought I'd ever hear that. I mean... It's Mason" she snorted laying down.

"Well he loves her-"

"He said that?" She smiled wide eyed "no. But it's obvious. He's changed since Jordyn came here"

"You mean since he dragged her here" she said and I chuckled "yeah" I said and she laid on her back. "It won't be long. I know she loves him too. They can't stay away from each other long" she said and I turned over putting my head on her chest. I put my palm on her stomach listening to their heart beats and she played with my hair.

"Do you think it was smart to let Ian go with them?" She asked making me look at her "why do you say that?" I asked.

"They're the last white wolves. And you told me Hopkins has been around that pack for a while: he probably knows his way in easier. They're not a big pack. So that means less warriors" she said and I tensed.

"He can take them both" she said looking at me shaking her head. "We should've kept them separate" she said and I sighed wiping my face.

"They're strong over there... It'll be fine" I mumbled looking at the ceiling.

They'll be fine...
