《Going back ✔️》Chapter 30: Revenge

"I'm going to ask you one last time," I snarled, "where is she?"
The pathetic bloodied man whimpered. Currently, we were in our gang's torture chambers. After a lot of work, Harry and I managed to track down someone who knew the location of Iris' shooter- who's code name was Poison.
"Listen, pal," I growled, holding a knife to his throat, "my sister was shot and is in a coma because of that woman. I will do everything I can to find her. I will kill you if you don't give me the damn information."
"I can't tell you!" The tortured man wailed.
"Can't?" I cocked my head and pressed the knife deeper, "or won't?"
The man gaped like a fish. After a few minutes of silence, he said, "get me a map, and I'll point out her location."
I did as he asked and untied the ropes that kind him. However, I kept my knife on his neck, so that he wouldn't try anything. With shaking hands, he pointed to a spot on the map.
Satisfied, I tied him again.
"If you're lying," I said, walking towards the door, "I will show you pain you've never experienced before."
I left the room and went upstairs to Harry'a office.
"We have a lead," I announced, placing the paper on his desk.
Harry grabbed the map and stared at the location marked, "what do we do when we find this 'Poison'?"
"Kill her," I replied, shrugging, "or torture her until she tells us who hired her to shoot Iris."
Harry raised an eyebrow and looked at me, "Jax, when was the last time you got some sleep?"
"Two days? Maybe three?" I shrugged, not really seeing the point of the question. To be honest, I was exhausted. But I was too full of anger and energy to sleep.

Harry sighed, "Jax-"
I cut him off, "I know what you're going to say, and I don't want to hear it. My best friend and sister is in a coma. I don't give a damn about anything else than finding the person who put her in that condition. Thank you and goodbye," if the circumstances surrounding situation had been different, I would probably be dead right now.
I left the room and took a taxi down to the location the man gave me- knowing it wouldn't be wise to drive in this condition. It took me to a quaint house in a cul de sac. I paid the taxi driver and knocked on the door. A middle aged man with ginger hair opened it.
"Hello?" He asked. I shoved past him and entered the house, "Hey! Hey! You can't just come in here like that!"
"George? Is something wrong?" I entered the living room to see 'Poison' sitting on the couch. Two small children were playing with toys on the floor and looked at me with wide blinking eyes.
"This lunatic just barged into our house!" George stated angrily.
I walked over to the children and picked one up and pointed my gun at her, looking at Poison, "tell me who hired you, or I'll shoot," I wasn't actually going to. I'm not evil and I would never hurt innocent children- especially after what happened in my past.
"Flo, tell him," George said in anguish.
"I don't understand what he means!" 'Flo' cried, "please don't hurt my child. What kind of person would harm an innocent child?"
I glared at her so hard she shrank back a little bit, "I could ask you the same question," I said coldly, "what did my best friend, my sister, ever do to you? She's in a coma and the doctors don't know when she'll wake up. Why did you shoot her?"

George stood next to Flo and wrapped an arm around his wife. He looked at me in the eye and said, "we did what we had to do to protect our children."
Seeing I was confused, Flo hastened to explain, "when I was young and folly, I did some awful things. Things I will never be able to escape from and costed me a lot. A couple weeks ago, someone told me to deliver a 'warning' to Iris. A specific script of what to say to her. I, naturally, refused and they attacked my children," she grabbed the other child on the floor and clutched him to her chest, "they offered us money. Money that would be suffice to provide for my family. I deeply regret what I did to Iris, but I was only protecting my family."
After hearing Flo's story, I looked at her for the first time. At the start, I was hellbent on revenge and wanted to harm her. Now, I only see parents willing to do anything to protect their children.
"I don't want to harm you," I said quietly, placing the child on the floor who immediately tottered over to her parents, "I just want revenge for my family. Please, give me at least a name to work with."
The couple exchanged glances and George nodded to Flo. She sighed, "very well, I will give you a name. But you just never trouble my family again."
"You have my word," I responded. Flo grabbed a piece of paper and wrote some things down. She folded it and gave it to me.
"I'm sorry for barging in here and threatening you," I said.
Flo cracked a small smile, "we understand. We'd do anything to avenge our loved ones. We're sorry for causing your family harm."
I nodded and made to go when George said, "by the way, they told me to say something to Iris and show her a video. I did so, and she seemed really shaken."
"What was it?"
George's next words made me quake and feel an overwhelming emotion of wanting to laugh, cry and scream angrily at the same time.
"Alex is alive."

Majority Rule
Readers choose from a selection of options for participants of a survival game show known as "Can Anyone Beat Level 10?". Each level has some monsters to kill and a boss at the end. Treasure chests and traps are available. Treasure chests, if opened successfully, give decent weapons, first aid kits, etc. If unsuccessful, treasure chests will either explode, taking some health from player or do become permanently closed. Monsters in dungeon levels depend on the theme of the week. This game show occurs on the first week of every month. The game just showed up out of nowhere and many people were interested in it as they attended the live version of the show. As for its mysteries...well, who knows? Maybe someone will solve them some day. But, for now, let the games begin! This is a story that depends on the votes of the viewers using the poll system. I will probably wait a week or so per poll in order to accumulate enough votes. After the week is up, viewers can still vote but it won't affect the story. This is my first interactive fiction so it might not be on par with the better ones. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoyed reading this story. Thanks.

[Book One] Querencia Quintet [Polarity/Pestilence]
Migrated from: https://www.wattpad.com/story/187324475-querencia-quintet-polarity-pestilence This is my official work and my official username, both on Royal Road and Wattpad. Any reposts of Querencia Quintet are not mine and should be reported straight to myself, all copyright ... rights... are withstanding. Book one in the Querencia Quintet franchise is titled "Polarity/Pestilence" and it starts off with our sarcastic, overpowered protagonist, Charley Dunne, a 17 year old werewolf who has been cordially invited by his Werewolf clan's boss, Markus Fell. The invitation is related to Charley's supernatural academy's graduation party. He is about to move out of his parents' house and attend college. The events prior to his successful passing marks within his last exam, all 17 years of his life, have been leading up to one moment and one moment only; war. The war shall begin when he turns 18, the night of April 2nd, 2017. Whose side(s) will Charley Dunne possibly select as his loyal allies; Fleshflingers (Zombies)? Moonbearers (Werewolves)? Spellcasters (Witches and Wizards)? Bloodsuckers (Vampires)? Or Mortals (Humans)? A few, more than a few, or, miraculously, will he be able to unite all five supernatural Councils (groups) and form an eternal pact that may just last a dozen or so centuries? Find out in the very first instalment of: Querencia Quintet. Quoted from my official Wattpad story's description: "Werewolves. Demons. Angels. Spirits. Vampires. Zombies. Humans -- and the greatest supernatural species of them all; witches. The nine Lords of the Night, the thirteen Lords of the Day, the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, the god of war, Horus, and the greatest progenitor of the mystical arts, Merlin. These five Councils could form a pact that lasts many lifetimes ... but will their differences and flaws work against them? Do the five magical chambers butt heads, or do they accept their uniqueness and strengths and work together?"
