《Going back ✔️》Chapter 7: School pt2

I had Maths first. With a teacher called Mr. N Bread. I kid you not, that was his name.
Anyways, it went by relatively smoothly. A couple of people would point and whisper towards and about me, but a glare would shut them up quick. After Maths was Geography- which wasn't my strong suit. However, the teacher- Miss. Bell- was amicable and I enjoyed the lesson.
Now lunch is where things got very interesting.

I walked in the cafeteria and spotted my brothers. I decided not to sit next to them, I hightly doubt that they would want me with them. Fortunately, I had some money and managed to buy a sandwich and a cookie. Unlike how most people portray them, the food at school didn't taste too bad. It was ridiculously healthy (like, who puts courgettes in cookies?!) but other that that, it was fine.
I sat down at an empty table in the corner and quietly began eating my lunch. I sensed someone was behind me and tensed, preparing myself for an attack. I felt a hand on my shoulder and spun around and gasped when I saw who it was.
My brothers and I sat at our usual table. We were considered the 'popular' kids. We kept an eye out for Iris and, I'll admit, it stung a little when she chose to sit alone rather than with us. I wanted to go over there and tell her to sit with us, but someone else beat me to it.
I saw someone creep up behind her and Iris tensed, as if prepared for an attack. However, when the person spun her around, she gasped and squealed- yes, squealed- and hugged them.
I recognised the boy as Jax. He was- I can't believe I'm about to say this- considered the bad boy of the school. He was popular and well- liked. Rumour says that the Leaders of the Snakes (Suits) and Sharks (Leather Jackets) James and Cole- both asked him to join their gang. But he declined.

Anyway, I saw Jax hug my sister back and kiss her cheek. I subconsciously clenched my fists and nudged Julian and Brandon, gesturing subtly. They both frowned and poked our other brothers. Oscar made a 'so what?' gesture and Will's expression mirrored mine.
Jax sat next to Iris and began chatting animatedly with her. I decided to ask Iris about it later.
It'd been a while since I'd last seen Jax. His brown hair was unruly and his grey eyes glittered deviously. I saw tattoos crawling up to his neck and across his arms like a beautiful art display.
"I've missed you, Rainbow," the 18-year-old smiled fondly.
I hit him, hard, "I missed you too but why didn't you tell me you were coming here!"
"I wanted it to be a surprise," he suddenly grinned, "by the way, I heard what you said to James and Cole. That was amazing! I clapped."
I laughed, "that was you? James and Cole?"
"James is the guy who wears suits and Cole's the one who wears leather jackets," Jax explained.
I nodded, "okay. By the way, um, I went to the hospital a while back. Martha is still waiting for that arm wrestle."
The horror on Jax's face was so comedic that I couldn't resist taking a picture, "oh god..."
I laughed and smiled nostalgically, "I miss Alex."
Jax sighed, "me too."
The bell rang and I bid Jax a quick goodbye and made my way to my next lesson.

After school, I waited in the parking lot for my brothers. As I was there, I saw two people walking towards me and I identified them as James' and Cole's worshippers.
"What do you want?" I said in a bored tone.

"No one messes with James and Cole and gets away with it," Worshipper no1 snarled.
Worshipper no2 drew a finger horizontally across his neck. The universal sign for 'you're dead'. How lovely.
"And what are you going to do about it?" I replied in the same bored tone.
"Teach you a lesson," Worshipper no1 grinned and her blue eyes glinted.
Worshiper no1 threw a punch. But it was sloppy and had no grace. I blocked it easily and kneed him in between the legs. He doubled over and I delivered a strong, proper punch to the face, effectively breaking his nose and making him curl up on the ground.
"Your turn," I smiled with fake sweetness at Worshipper no2 and pulled her long hair. She grabbed my wrist and twisted it, but I was used to the pain. I kicked her legs and she fell, crashing her head against the brick wall. However, she arose again and we engaged in a fight. She kicked, jabbed and punched while I dodged. Finally, I got bored and delivered the final punch to the face, knocking her out cold.
I lifted Worshipper no1's head up, looked him dead in the eye and said, "no one messes with me. Take your friend and get the hell outta my sight before I do some serious damage," he nodded weakly, picked up his friend and ran away.
Looking up, I realised I had an audience. Jax was looking proud and worried while my brothers looked shocked. I bowed for them and said, "well, I think I have to explain some things."
My brothers and I were going to the parking lot. We were discussing some business when we spotted Jax.
"Hey," he greeted us and we nodded back, "have you seen Iris?"
"Why?" I asked, "and how do you know Iris?"
Jax smiled, "we've known each other since she was eight."
Oscar frowned, "wait... guys, Iris told us about him. Remember? At the hospital?"
Oh, I remember now. Yeah, Iris said that she, Jax and Alex were really close friends.
"In that case," Will grinned, "want to come round to our house today?"
"Sure," Jax replied.
Suddenly, we heard the sounds of a fight happening. We quickly ran there and saw my little sister engaged in a fight with two people. Daimen went to charge forward, but Jax held him back.
"Watch," he smirked, "those idiots have no idea who they're dealing with."
"But she could get hurt!" I protested.
"Iris doesn't like people fighting her battles," Jax explained, "and trust me, she can handle it."
Annoyed, I stayed put and watched, amazed, at Iris fighting. It was practically flawless- her blocks, kicks, punches. I felt a flicker of pride.
Finally, she bent down and said something to the guy. He looked terrified and nodded, before grabbing his companion and running away quickly.
Iris spotted us and looked surprised for a second, before masking it with her cold look. She bowed theatrically and said, "well, I think I have to explain some things."
I think you do.
