The first thing Veronica hears when she wakes up is Archie's voice. He's not next to her anymore where he was when she fell asleep. He sits in an armchair a few feet away with Rose in his arms. He smiles at the little baby and talks to her. Veronica stays quiet and just looks at him and her daughter. The little girl looks even smaller in Archie's muscular arms.

"You're such a sweet baby girl Rosie" he smiles while he carefully rocks her in his arms.

"I can't believe you're my baby, mine. You're such a beautiful girl. Just like your mommy. I'm so obsessed with you already but don't tell your sister. She gets jealous easily" he chuckles. "I love you little Rosie"

Veronica can't help but smile widely. A little giggle leaves her mouth. Archie looks up. "Good morning Ronnie"

"Good morning. Why are you two so far away from me?" Veronica asks with a pouty look on her face.

"We're just hanging out. We didn't want to wake you up"

"I'm up now. Come to me" she says and slowly sits up in her bed.

Archie smirks but the smiles quickly disappears when gets up. The little girl in his arms begins to whine and cry. "Oh no no love, don't cry. We're going to mommy"

The girl keeps whining until she lies in Veronica's arms. Rose looks up to her mom. Her eyes are still red from crying but she's calm now.

"She's so perfect Ronnie. When I look at her I want to make a hundred more babies"

"Me too"

"Really?" he gasps. "Didn't you say something about no babies yesterday?"

"I said no babies any time soon but eventually I'd like to have one more. I always wanted a big family"

"Well that's what I want too" Archie smiles. He cups her cheeks and kisses her softly. "The twins and my parents will be here soon. Are you hungry? Do you want to eat something before they come?"

"Yeah" she nods. "Can you get us something?"

"Want do you want"

"Surprise me"

Archie smiles. He kisses Veronica's forehead and then Rose's before he gets up and leaves.

Veronica enjoys the few minutes she has alone with her girl. She looks up to her with her dark brown eyes. Her red curls look even curlier than yesterday. She has little freckles on her face that Veronica didn't notice yesterday.

"My sweet baby" Veronica whispers while she carefully runs her thumb over the girl's forehead.

"I will always protect you. I won't let anyone hurt you. Mommy will always be there for you"

A tear drops from her face onto Rose's but Veronica quickly wipes it away. Just in that moment Archie comes back. He sits down next to her with a plate in one hand and a cup of coffee in his other. He got some croissants and grapes. He places the plate on his lap and the coffee on the nightstand. He knows Veronica could drink some coffee now that Rose is here but she doesn't want to as long as she's breastfeeding.

"Yummy" Veronica smiles. She takes a grape and puts it into her mouth. "When are the kids coming?"

"In an hour"

"An hour?" Veronica asks with big eyes. "How am I supposed to get ready in an hour. I didn't even eat yet"

"Baby you gave birth. No one cares about what you look like"

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Honey what I'm saying is the kids and my parents don't care if you brushed your hair and put on a new shirt. They love you and they want to see Rosie. Besides that, you look as beautiful as always. Relax a little"

"Fine" she smiles.

Archie wraps his arm around Veronica and pulls her a little closer. He kisses her cheek softly before he looks to the now sleeping little girl in her arms.

"I know I said it a million times already but she's so perfect"

"Yeah she is. I'm so obsessed with her tiny fingers"

"Tiny baby fingers are pretty cute" Archie chuckles. "Soon these tiny fingers will reach for everything near them. Food, hair, necklaces, your face, everything"

"I can't wait to see her grow up but I kinda want her to stay little forever too" Veronica giggles. She leans her head against his and closes her eyes.

She enjoys the peace and quiet.

Time flies because after what feels like a minute Archie kisses her cheek and whispers into her ear. "Honey the kids are here"

"Already?"

"You fell asleep love" he chuckles.

Veronica slowly sits up and rubs her eyes. There is a knock on the door. She can hear Ben and Ella giggle.

Archie gets up and opens the door. The twins don't even look their dad. They walk straight towards Veronica.

"Hi kids" she smiles. Ben gets on his tiptoes when he reaches the bed so he can look at the little baby in his mother's arms.

"Say hi to your little sister Rose"

"Hi Rose" Ella whispers.

"Can I hold her?" Ben asks excitedly

"Sure. Take your shoes off and then come here" Veronica says.

The little boy excitedly kicks his shoes off. Ella does the same. Fred lifts them onto the bed. Quickly and quietly then sit down next to their mom. Veronica carefully lies the little baby into Ben's arms. She supports him with holding the head. Ella runs her fingers through the little red curls.

"She's so beautiful honey" Mary smiles. Tears roll down her eyes as she wraps her arms tightly around Archie. Fred sits down next to Veronica. He places his hand on the baby's stomach and Rose immediately grabs his finger. "Hi little girly. Im grandpa Fred. I'll protect you"

"Her hair looks like daddy's" Ella giggles.

"Yeah" Ben nods. His voice sounds weak. Veronica frowns and leans forward a little to look at Ben. She sees tears in his eyes. His bottom lip quivers.

"Benny are you crying?" Veronica asks with a few tears forming in her own eyes.

Ben nods "She's just so cute mommy. I love her"

"Oh Benny" Veronica giggles as the tears in her eyes roll down her cheeks. She lovingly kisses the top of his head and then just watches him with her youngest daughter in his little arms. Ella still softly runs her fingers over Rose's head.

Archie smiles. His is better than anything he has ever imagined. He leans down to Veronica and kisses the top of her head.

"Benny sweetheart can I hold her too?" Mary asks. The boys eyes widen. He shakes his head and holds his baby sister a little closer.

"Come on love, let grandma hold her. You will have your sissy everyday. Grandma won't"

"Just for a minute Benny"

"Fine" he mumbles. Veronica carefully takes Rose out of his arms and lies her into Mary's. Tears roll down the woman's cheeks. Rose is so small. The twins were four months old when she met them for the first time. She missed holding a baby so much. The tiny hands and the tiny fingers. The little nose and eyes. The way they look at you.

"Mommy when can we take her home?" Ben asks as he snuggles into Veronica's side.

"Today" she giggles "we will take her home today honey"

"Can I show her my room?"

"Of course Benny"

"Can she sleep in my room too? She can sleep in my bed and I'll sleep on the floor"

"Sweetheart, she will sleep in her little crib in my and daddy's room but when she's older you guys can have a sleepover okay?"

"Okay mommy" he sighs. He takes her hand and looks at the ring on her finger with a proud smile on his face. He chose that ring with his dad. He looks up to his little sister in his Grandma's arms. Rose is his little sister and he will always protect her.
