whenshe woke up. She wasn't that fazed though as she opened her eyes, already having seen everything before, the glassy, dark sky that enveloped the whole place, the floor made out of shards of blue and purple, the flames that reached towards everything and nothing.

And him, as he was sitting down in that same position again, crouched down as his elbow rested on his knee, his cheek on his hand as he focussed his gaze on her. She couldn't read his obsidian eyes, but then again, she never had before, so it didn't bother her that much.

"What are you waiting for?" she asked.

The devil blinked in surprise, but before he could even react she repeated the same words she had to him the first time.

"Help me up," she ordered as she extended her hand.

His laugh began slowly, like a tornado whirling around her, embracing her in it's suffocating and deadly touch as it bounced against the onyx walls and died in his obsidian eyes.

"Jasmina fucking Nawar," he said," I knew I should have picked someone else. You've always been too smart for your own good."

She raised her eyebrows as she waved her extended hand and he grasped her hand, helping her up in a fluid move.

"Do you like dying?" he said," this is the second time in two weeks, you know."

She chuckled, but the amusement quickly faded out of his eyes as he pulled her close to him.

"How did you do it?" he whispered," no, how did you even know?"

"Know what?" she said as she batted her eyelashes at him.

He rolled his eyes as he let her go, pacing away as the fires around him started to get higher and wilder.

"Don't feign ignorance," he said," it isn't a good look on you."

"Everything is a good look on me," she said.

She watched the mix of irritation and curiosity on his face influence even the sky above, which was becoming clouded with grey hues. When he turned around to her then and raised his eyebrows expectantly, she smiled, before starting to talk.

"I've never been one not to read the fine print," she said," you should've known better than to put it in your contract."

"I wouldn't have," he chuckled breathily," but I'm bound to fully disclose all information. Still, you're the first one to even read the whole thing that fast and to even do this -"

"The mortal that signs this contract is bound to it by the life granted to him or her," she recited," for there is no soul to give if they are dead." She smiled at his expression, before adding. "I have an excellent memory."

"How did you even do it?" he said as he shook his head, nearing her again.

"Easy," she said," I knew I couldn't die or the contract would be void, but I had to test the theory out. Just in case it was fake. Hence you being summoned because Ira caused an earthquake. I just needed you to believe I didn't know about the fine print yet, so I put on the act of just assuming you would come out of nowhere to my aid because I was better off alive to you."

She chuckled as she smoothed down the wrinkles on her dress. "You're the devil, so of course you wouldn't believe a petty human like me would even read the fine print, let alone come up with a plan, so I knew you wouldn't search anything behind it. Still, when you showed up my theory was confirmed - you would never show up yourself if it wasn't a very important matter to you to keep me alive after all. And there's nothing more important to you than the contracts, right?"

His face was unreadable as she continued, the plan she had thought up when she had signed the contract here just two weeks ago. "You tried to act casual to me by saying you wouldn't come a second time, but the the threat to the sins was clear. There was a reason why they had to stick with me at all times. After all, the seven deadly sins never would willingly go to school every single day when they could do anything they want on Earth. No, they were my glorified bodyguards, weren't they?"

Without waiting for an answer she continued, her smile pleased. "But they're too uncontrollable for you to have spoken about the contract with them. If you had told them, they would eventually have slipped it to me. Besides, this was just a fun side project for you anyways, something to keep you entertained for the moment - I was certain you didn't care enough to check my every move."

She walked towards him then, watching the dancing flames she passed with faint amusement. "I had to make sure though, just in case you did. So I devised a whole, elaborate plan for revenge against Alan and Lena. You knew I was petty anyway, so it wasn't like you would think it was fake."

"Don't tell me you of all people didn't want revenge," he said," or did going to hell make you forgiving all of a sudden?"

"Absolutely not," she laughed," but if I had wanted to ruin them, I would have just made a few phone calls to my contacts and both of them would be done for by dawn."

"Thought you were one to use your own resources," he said with raised eyebrows," not depend on your dear parents and all that."

"That's bullshit," she drawled," if you have the resources, why not use them? I don't care if it's my parents' power, if it helps me, it helps me."

"I should have known though," he said as he stared at the flames," you weren't trying to be good at all. A demon came by last as I was watching you and asked if you were my new sin when you threatened to break a girl's bones."

"I actually did break a few of her bones," Jasmina said with a pleased smile," so that wasn't an empty threat."

The devil laughed again, before shaking his head slowly.

"You're insane, Jasmina Nawar, and I love it." He trailed off then as he looked at her, gaze puzzled. "Still, I thought the sins were fond of you now. None of them tried to save you?"

"That had been a crucial point in my plan," she said," I mean, I was sure I could push Lena to the point where she would push me down from somewhere, especially if I got close enough to the edge and made sure to get her to that point with every action I took since my resurrection, but I couldn't have anyone interfering. So I sent all the sins off to do something else, seeing as I might as well get this revenge done with anyway. It was killing two birds with one stone."

"I just needed one sin around for some last minute magic, a sin who wouldn't stop me from dying if I asked her. The choice was between Priyanka and Lucy really, the other sins were all wildcards. You get why I couldn't ask Lucy."

She looked at the devil then as realization started to dawn on him.

"You," he began slowly," you sent Lucy to me. I found it weird when she showed up out of nowhere and dragged me along to a distant location, only to talk about a resolved conflict from her sector thirteen years ago."

"She was to keep you busy," Jasmina smiled," if you knew I was about to die and no sin would help, you would have probably showed up. I couldn't rely entirely on your comment that you'd leave it to the sins after all."

He was silent for a moment, his whole face masked in shadows as he slowly shook his head. As he started laughing again, the flames soared this time, leaving glowing red marks on the sky when they touched it, the purple and blue beneath her seeming to melt like candle wax.

When he looked at her this time, there was nothing human left.

His eyes were entirely obsidian now, horns made out of fire adorning his onyx hair, his dark suit now scorching at the edges. Wings had sprouted out of his back, the edges black like they had been burned. Even like this he was handsome though, his sharp features and natural charm still there.

"You've deceived the devil, Jasmina Nawar," he said softly," do you think you'll get away with a sin so grave?"

She looked at him, at the flames, at the shadows, at the chaos that surrounded her.

And she smiled.
