《Sunrise ~ An Eremika Story》Chapter 15

Mikasa didn't sleep that night. Her mind was racing a hundred miles a minute and she couldn't seem to collect her thoughts.
From her parents burial, to whatever the fuck just happened with Eren, she knew that she wouldnt be sleeping tonight.
She knew she didn't technically do anything wrong, she still felt sick to her stomach. She was dating Jean, and yet she didn't even take the courtesy of letting him know what was going on. The whole situation was a mess, but the thought of Jean only confused her more.
The only reason she even saw a future with Jean before was because her parents were still alive, and a future with Jean benefitted their well being. However since that idea was now impossible, she had no clue what to do.
...
Mikasa watched the sky brighten through the tattered cloth, as Eren laid asleep beside her. Mikasa couldn't help but notice how peaceful he looked when he slept, somewhat like an angel.
She recognized the forest they were passing, and knew they would be arriving within the next ten minutes. Although it pained her to do so, she softly shook Eren awake. His eyelashes fluttered open, as he met her eyes. "Good morning." he muttered, his morning voice was husky and brittle.
When she stepped out of the wagon with her bag, she was immediately greeted by Jean's bitter presence. His arms were crossed, as he stood outside of the wagon. He locked eyes with Eren who walked behind Mikasa, and scowled.
"Hi. Jean." Mikasa stammered. He brought his eyes back to her, but his glare didn't soften. "Mikasa. We need to talk." He practically ordered. Before Eren could protest, she nodded and followed him out.
Eren bit his lip as he watched Jean lead her away. He almost forgot they were together, and he wished he did. Chewing on his lip, he pondered what they were discussing.

Jean led Mikasa behind the boys cabin, and stopped in his tracks. He stayed silent, as he glared down at her. She shifted uncomfortably, and waited for him to speak.
"Did you need to tell me something?" she asked.
He scoffed, "No. I need to tell me something." S
he gulped the saliva that was building up, as he continued to stare down at her.
"What is it?" She asked softly.
"What do you mean 'what is it'? I don't know, maybe for starters where have you been? What happened? Why didn't you talk to me? Why did you talk to ?" He began, making sure to enunciate the word 'him'.
She took a deep breath, and stopped fidgeting with her hands. "Some stuff happened, and-"
"Stuff? What stuff?"
"Personal stuff."
"Right. Personal stuff that you shared with him."
"He happened to be there when I found out, I don't know why you're so upset..."
"Why? Are you kidding me? Mikasa, you're my girlfriend. You're supposed to tell me things. Not some random asshole, did you forget the shit he pulled on you?" he barked.
She shook her head, "I have a lot to process right now Jean." she explained, feeling her voice begin to break.
He let out an exaggerated sigh, and folded his hands together. "So let me get this straight. You go on some trip with fucking Jaegar, and you come back with explanation, and try to convince me that the confused one here?"
"You dont understand-"
"You're right, I have no fucking clue."
She stayed silent, digging her nails into her palm.
"Nothing? You don't have anything to say?"
"You keep interrupting every time I try to talk."

"Fine. Talk." he ordered.
"Look. I understand that you're pissed, but I really just need to figure out my life right now." she explained.
"Mikasa, your life's already figured out. I'm offering you a comfortable life, no casualties, no titans, no worries. There are people out there who would kill for a life like that."
Mikasa gazed down at the floor, the dead grass trampled beneath her feet swayed in the light breeze. "I don't want that life."
"What-" "I don't want that life." she repeated, looking him in the eye.
He opened his mouth to speak, but quickly closed it. "Then I guess we're done here." he said. "Yeah." she whispered.
And with that, he left. Without another word.

Aurora Scroll
Hey, what would you do after you got isekai-ed? Me? Look! A cockroach villain has appeared. Let's kill him before he messes things up. Too cruel? That kind of character is always introduced to be killed by the protagonist anyway so I'm doing the world a favor here. Less CO2 emission. It's time to "Go Green" guys, even in another world. See over there, that's a trash young master type right there. What do I do? Endure the initial insults and provocation then dispose of him when no one sees of course. Why make things difficult? Hmm, a pretty girl in peril. Potential love interest there… but no, I have enough problems as it is. At the very least, I won't help her just 'cause she's a female. Same goes for males. What? I support gender equality. Hey, I know the clichés, what did you think I was going to do? Simply let it run its course? Well duh, I'll twist it to my benefit. ************************************************ -This is a power fantasy story. Demons Don't Lie
Algier, average human and recent convict, has committed the gravest sin of all: demon slaying. His fate? To participate in the Culling, a battle-royale style tournament that’s televised live to the world, where all the worst criminals go to die. As with all tournaments, a prize is on the line. If Algier survives, he can have any wish granted by the Marquises, the new rulers of Earth following the demons’ invasion. However, there’s little hope for survival in a tournament designed to have demons do the work of the executioner, especially for a human. Demons are stronger, faster, wiser, and more talented than the average human, and, despite his crime, Algier is no demon hunter. Mentally defeated before the tournament even begins, Algier is torn between becoming another demon’s points and fighting on in his dead mother’s legacy. But should he choose to fight, there is one advantage that Algier has that can tip the odds in his favour: Demons don’t lie, but humans can. How to read this story Demons Don't Lie is written from the perspective of an unreliable (lying) narrator. There are many inconsistencies within the story which are placed there intentionally. It's up to the reader to decide what is the truth and what is the lie. Promotion Full quality cover image
