《Sunrise ~ An Eremika Story》Chapter 4

Dinner that night was awkward. Sasha was sitting at another table with Connie, so only Armin, Eren and Mikasa were sitting together. The awkward silence lingered, and Armin could tell something was up.
"Okay what happened?" he finally asked, placing his spoon down. Mikasa looked up from her food, while Eren didn't even bother acknowledging the question.
"Eren's mad because his empty threats didn't work." Mikasa explained.
Eren dropped his spoon, creating a loud clang. "Shut up! I cant even eat without you running your mouth!" he shouted.
She glared at him, "You're just pissed you couldn't even touch me! Let alone win!" she exclaimed.
"Oh yeah?!" "Yes!"
Without hesitation, Eren splashed his entire bowl of soup onto Mikasa, drenching her in the chunky broth. "Eren!" Armin yelled, as Mikasa mimicked Eren's movements and dumped her entire bowl of soup onto him.
Before anyone could say another word, they were both throwing and dumping any food within hands reach at each other, including Armins meal.
Sasha rushed over and held Mikasa back, either because she didn't want Mikasa to get in trouble, or that she couldn't stand watching perfectly food go to waste. Armin grabbed Eren and did his best to hold him back, but the soup made his grip slippery.
"Show off!"
"Asshole!"
"Bitch!"
"Cocky bastard!"
The nicknames varied, some more hurtful than others.
"Eren!" Armin shouted once again, praying to god that he would calm down.
Reiner and Bertolt soon rushed over, and held Eren back. They ended up pulling him out of the cafeteria entirely, but he fought back the whole time.
Sasha let go of Mikasa, who was now covered in remnants of mashed potatoes and soup.

"Christ, what just happened?" Jean asked, walking over to them.
"It's a mess." Mikasa muttered, looking down at the table.
"a mess. I mean that in the nicest way possible, but look at yourself Mikasa." Sasha whined, disappointed in the waisted dinner.
Mikasa looked down at her clothes, which were fully stained. Not to mention her hair, which stew dripped off of onto the floor.
"Um... I'll clean the table. Just... Jean?" Sasha called out, overwhelmed by the mess.
"Yeah?"
"Could you help Mikasa get cleaned up? There's a well outside, I need to get this cleaned up." Sasha explained.
"R-right. Sure." Jean stammered. He led Mikasa outside, and walked with her towards the public well.
"So... What happened?" Jean asked when they were alone.
"Eren's a dick." was her response, because she was still absolutely furious.
Jean chuckled, "Yeah you can say that again. But I'm sure the stain will come out." he added.
"My extra pair of clothes are in the wash though..." Mikasa mumbled. She only had her uniform left. Her other pair of comfortable clothes were getting cleaned, and the ones she wore now were disgusting.
They arrived at the well, which was in between the boy and girls cabins. "Then... How about you wash your hair, while I go and grab you my extra shirt that you can wear to bed." he offered.
She smiled up at him, "That'd be great. Thank you." she said, as he rushed into the boys cabin.
She soaked her hair and rang it out, making sure she got every individual piece of potato out.
'God Eren's an idiot.' she thought to herself.
"It's going to be big on you..." Jean began, walking up from behind her. "...But it's clean." he concluded, handing her the neatly folded shirt.

"Thank you... I'll bring it back to you tomorrow." she told him, before waving him goodbye. He smiled and waved back, and she walked into her cabin to change.
...
He didn't lie, the shirt was really big. It went down to her knees, almost like a dress. She held the fabric up to her nose, and took in a comforting scent. Citrus, with the hint of nutmeg.
The other girls made their way into the cabin after she finished up, and she could hear them gossiping about the events that took place that night.
She turned around and met Sasha's glare, as Mikasa returned her an awkward smile. "You..." she muttered, as she walked closer to Mikasa.
"I'm really sorry..." Mikasa mumbled, genuinely meaning it. Sasha really covered for her there, and if it weren't for her Mikasa would have probably had to stay behind to clean that table in her disgusting clothes.
Sasha huffed, but then let out a light hearted chuckle. "It's alright."
...
"Alright alright, let go!" Eren shouted, shoving the three boys off of him when they got back to the cabin.
"You need to calm down." Reiner muttered, in his usual low tone. "Seriously Eren! You can't just waist food like that! And definitely not by throwing it on someone else!" Armin exclaimed.
"What was I supposed to do? She was being a little shit!"
"Eren!" Armin let out an exaggerated sigh and shook his head in disappointment. "Mikasa isn't gonna want to sit with us if you keep acting like this!"
"Good!" Eren shouted as he threw his hands up in the air.
Bertolt cleared his throat, "I know this isn't what you want to hear, but were the one who started it" he mumbled as Reiner nodded in agreement.
Eren groaned, and fell back on his bed. He looked up at Armin, "Don't tell me you're taking her side too."
Armin did not respond, and just continued to stare down at Eren.
Eren sighed, "Fine. I'll apologize tomorrow. I guess."
The door bursts open, alerting the four of them. Jean stood in the doorframe, with an impatient look on his face. He locked eyes with Eren, and scowled at him. Eren sat up, and mimicked his expression.
"Bastard." Jean muttered under his breath, before making his way towards the closet. Before Eren could pick another fight, Armin changed the subject. "What are you looking for Jean?" he asked, watching him scour through the closet.
"Well thanks to Eren, Mikasa doesn't have extra clothes. So I'm trying to find an extra shirt of mine, but I think they're all in the wash. Just my luck." Jean muttered.
Eren felt an instant pang of guilt, and shot Armin an apologetic glance. "Uh... Just grab one of mine." Eren muttered. Jean scoffed, and ripped one of Eren's extra shirts off of the hangers. "I'm taking credit." Jean retorted, before leaving the cabin.
Eren rolled his eyes and laid back down, lost in thought. 'She better be grateful. Brat.' he thought to himself.
