Eren's PoV

"OH MY SQUEE! EREN IT'S ALMOST CHRISTMAS!" My mom shrieked when she entered the room so suddenly in the morning.

"Why are you so obsessed with this years christmas? You haven't stopped talking about it since the end of October" I said dully not even bothered to look up at her.

"Yeah but it will also be Mikasa's first year spending Christmas with us. Have you forgotten that she was in a hospital most of her life?" My mom asked with a perplexed brow.

I looked up from my math packet that I had to do over winter break.

"Oh crap...don't be mad" I said and my mom gasped.

"You didn't get Mikasa anything yet?! She loves this holiday and actually wants to spend it with you. Get her something or I am disclaiming you as my son" She threatened.

"Well then let's go to the mall" I rolled my eyes as I set aside my work.

I got up from the bed and grabbed my wallet from my dresser.

"Unbelievable" my mom scoffed as she eyed be devilishly. "What?" I questioned as we walked out my room. "Just unbelievable" was all she said.

When I get downstairs I could see Mikasa sitting down on the soft cushioned couch while watching a Christmas Carol. She seemed so beautiful. She sat in her wheelchair watching intensively while my dad helped her make popcorn strings.

Even though she was living with Hanji she thought she like it better if she spent Christmas here. And who are we to say no to her.

Even though she was still paralyzed from the waist down she was a lot of help.

She helped my mom do dishes, hung up ornaments on the lower part of the Christmas tree, decorated the fire place and help wrap presents meant for other family members. She was a lot of help but I had grown so use to her presence that I forgot about her past. Does this make me a bad boyfriend?

"Me and Eren will be back guys" My mom announced making Mikasa turn around to glimpse up at me.

Her cheeks was a rosy pink color that made her eyes poke out more. She was really stunning.

She gives me a small smile and I couldn't help but blush at her cuteness.

I hesitantly walked over to her, bent down and pecked her cheek.

"See you later" I mumbled in her ears. "Be safe" she says locking fingers with mine for a quick moment. I slipped my hand from hers and walked back up to my mom who was smirking at me.

"We'll be back" she hums before opening the door to the snow covered lawn.

"Wow it's cold" I commented as I got in the passenger seat of the car.

"You want to know what's also cold?" My mom asked starting the car and driving off to the mall. "Do I want to?" I sighed as I counted the money from my wallet.

"You forgetting about Mikasa's first Christmas" she blurted.

I groaned. "Mom I already feel bad don't make me feel worse" I mumbled.

"You should blame yourself. Not me" She huff with amusement as she rounds the corner which had the view of the mall in sight. I inhaled sharply as I saw the full parking lot and long lines to get in and out. "Regrets?" My mom smirked at me as she peeked over at me. I rolled my eyes.

"Shut up" I grumbled.

"You got three hours. I will be dropping you off, right here" My mom tells as she comes to a stop.

I grumbled a bit as I got out of the car. I wasn't a fan of shopping, obviously, but my mom wasn't going to let me slide without giving anything to Mikasa when it was her first real Christmas. The only reason I was here was because I didn't want to see her frown in disappointment when she saw she I had given her nothing but given my parents something. I only gave them something cheap.

I only had $65.18 so hopefully I can find something in here that will make her happy and remember her first Christmas.

It was early in the morning, Christmas day, where I had smelt a full course meal cooking from downstairs in the kitchen. It was rare for my mom to cook something big; she only did it on special occasions and this just happens to be special to her.

I yawned as I finished stretching, peeked over at my alarm which read: 10:48 am.

I got up from my bed and into the bathroom to brush my teeth then descended down the creaky wooden stairs which lead to the living room.

My dad sat with his legs sprawled out on the couch as he read his weekly magazine while Mikasa and my mom were in the kitchen cooking.

I looked over at the Christmas tree which was full of gifts. Wonder what they got.

"Good Morning Eren!" Mikasa greets me excitedly.

She rolls her wheelchair over to me from the kitchen and leans forward, embracing me in a tight hug.

"Good morning Mikasa" I hugged her back. I ruffled her hair then leaned down and pressed a kiss on top of her head.

"Are you excited that Santa came and dropped all of these presents for us?!" She squeals pointing to the tree. Oh they didn't. My mom laughs from the kitchen, holding the pot of grits in one hand with the spoon in the other.

"Isn't she adorable?" My mom snorts.

I rolled my eyes. Since Mikasa was spending her first actual Christmas with us she had no idea about Santa. And with her gullible brain to believe everything to be true about Christmas, my mom decided to make her believe in Santa so she didn't miss out on her childhood.

"When do we open presents?" Mikasa asked in curiosity as she turns to my mom.

"When we finish eating breakfast. After we finish opening presents we will go to the hospital where they are hosting something for you. Then we will go over to Hanji's house for a party" My mom tells.

"Sounds like a busy day for you, Mikasa" I chimed as I stroked her cheek for a quick second.

"It does doesn't it..." Mikasa hummed.

"Breakfast is ready!" My mom announced coming into the living room with plates. She handed me two plates and with her own plate she walks to the table.

"Honey, did you make my food?" My dad asked looking up from his newspaper.

"No. You are an old man you can do it yourself" My mom scoffed.

He grumbles before getting up and storming to the kitchen. "Oh stop acting like a damn baby" My mom scolded.

I chuckled slightly before placing me and Mikasa's plate on the table. I scrolled Mikasa up to the table and sat down next to her.

"Smile Mikasa" My mom instructs while holding up a camera to her face.

She seemed a bit surprised by my mom's reaction and couldn't help but smile. "Cheese" she says in a gentle way before the flash goes off.

"Now let's eat" my mom says putting the camera down. After praying we all dug into our food. "This is good" Mikasa moans in satisfaction.

"Well if you haven't notice my mom has a thing for cooking" I say to her. "I see she's a natural" Mikasa compliments.

"Why aren't you my daughter?" My mom cries. "Kaurla ,no offense but, shut the hell up, the Polar Express is on and if you are louder than the bell then shut it" My dad retorted.

My mom glared at him. "Presents anyone?" She says changing the subject.

"Yay!" Mikasa cheered.

I finished up the last bits of my meal before getting up and pushing Mikasa towards the Christmas tree.

Dad had paused the movie and helped mom sort out all the presents differentiating them from everyone. "Why don't you open this one Mikasa, it's from Santa" My mom says choosing one of her presents from her pile.

"Yay!" She cheers as she excitedly tears the wrapping paper open. "Santa gave me an ugly Christmas sweater! I love it!" Mikasa squeals. "How he knew I always wanted one" she wondered.

For a good thirty minutes we went around opening gifts. I ended up getting new shoes, socks, joggers, headphones and a tablet. I loved getting things even if it was a little bit.

I looked over at Mikasa who was staring down at her gifts in amazement.

"Do you like them?" I asked scooting closer to her. She looks up at me a bit startled and nodded. "It's all beautiful. I didn't think Christmas was this... Heartwarming" she inhales as she touch her chest.

"Getting to spend time with my family, you guys...thank you" Mikasa smiles gratefully at us.

"Aw Mikasa" My mom smiles.

"I'm really happy I met you all" She cries.

"Don't cry just yet Mikasa, there is another gift. Except this one is from me" I told her.

She watches as I got up and ran up to my room. When I found the small box in my room I ran back downstairs.

She stares at me blankly as I hand her a long, small box.

"From you?" She asked as she slides a finger along the nicely wrapped decorated paper.

I nodded hesitantly. I hope she likes it. The more she unwrapped of the paper the more I got nervous. I only gave her one thing but it was worth every penny I had. I could of bought her more but that one thing said everything.

"Eren" Mikasa starts when she opens the small box.

Her eyes was filled with tears and her cheeks were stained a light pink color.

She holds up the golden, heart shape necklace that was opened revealing a picture of us two. I blushed and looked away.

I could hear my mom gasp. "I hope that's what's in this box" she whispered to dad as she held her own small present.

"It's beautiful!" She exclaims.

"I-it was worth every penny...you, Mikasa, is worth everything. You are my everything" I stated.

I bent down to her and put the necklace on myself.

"Thank you, Eren" Mikasa says touching the necklace. "I'll cherish it forever".

Suddenly there was a knock on the door.

We all glanced at each other before my dad shrugged and got up. Watching as he went to the door and opened we was all relieved when we saw that it was Hanji and a few other nurses Mikasa was familiar with.

"Hanji!" Mikasa exclaims excitedly as she rolls herself to her lifetime doctor.

"Hey Mikasa how's it been? Feeling healthier?" Hanji asked.

Regardless of the holidays Hanji was still dressed like she was going to work.

"Sudden business popped up at work so the party will be moved to New year's. Till then here's a little something from the hospital" Hanji says handing Mikasa a few gifts.

"Here's one for Eren as well" a nurse says giving me a flat present.

I ripped it open and bit down on my lip when I saw an envelope.

"Go ahead, open it" My mom urged me. Mikasa even watched like opening it was a life or death situation.

I pulled out the small piece of paper from the envelope and looked away. "So, you like it?" Hanji asked with a smirk.

"Of course I do...it's an acceptance letter to the smartest University in the state" I told aloud. "And I got in for medical" I smiled.

"Looks like you will become a doctor" Mikasa smiled.

"You can thank me. Recommendations from real doctors usually is a definite yes that you got qualified. After receiving permission from your mother I filled out your registration letter" Hanji explains.

"Thanks, this means a lot to me" I said with all my heart.

After a few more moments together they ended up leaving. My mom and dad started watching more Christmas movies so that left me and Mikasa.

"Have you ever made a snow angel Mikasa?" I asked as I opened the front door.

"No" she replied flatly.

I pushed her out the door through the five inch snow.

I set her chair closer to the side then hoisted her up and took her to a nice area.

I laid her in the snow gently and then laid down right next to her. "You just move your hands and legs up and down like this" I instructed as I showed an example.

She nods in understanding but just stares at me.

"I can't move my legs though" she replied meekly. "It's okay. You are already an angel" I smiled as I pinched her cheek.

"Besides you will just make a standing angel" I say.

"Okay" she smiled as she moved her arms up and down.

"Eren" she says looking over at me. I stared at her waiting for her reply.

"Merry Christmas" she says crawling her fingers into mine. I lightly gripped her hand and exhaled softly. "Merry Christmas Mikasa"
