———Eren pov———

"Are you leaving right now?" Connie said while still sitting at his bed

"Yeah class starts in three minutes I'm going to be late," I said while tying my shoes

"See you after?"

I looked up and gave Connie a small grin "of course"

Closing the door behind me I walked towards the elevator and went to press 'Ground floor' but saw it was already pressed by the guy standing in the corner nodding his head to music. I stood at the opposite side of him and went on my phone switching through apps so I didn't look like a complete loser

*Ding

I went to walk out of the elevator but stopped noticing that we were on the second floor. I walked back in and went to where I was originally at and a girl stepped in and pressed 'Floor 1'

"Your shoelace is untied," the guy said I looked up and saw that he wasn't talking to me but actually talking to the girl...Mikasa

"Oh thanks," Mikasa said while bending down and tying it not noticing I'm here

"Hey Mika you changed your pants," I said with a grin because I know for a fact she absolutely hates when I do that and that she had banana smoothie spilled all over her this morning

She looked up from her now tied shoe and immediately glared "Yeah I did nice observation jackass" she grumbled while standing up straight

We didn't acknowledge each other for the rest of the elevator ride and tried to get as much distance from each other as possible and soon enough the elevator stopped at floor one and she stepped out leaving me and the guy

"She has a cool name," the guys said while smiling a little

I looked his way and nodded a little "I guess..." I trailed off

"You guys dating?" He asked while looking at me

I laughed at what he said. Me? Dating her...? Funniest shit ever. I stopped after he looked at me confused "No she's just a..." can I even call her a friend we literally fucking hate each other "I just know her"

He hummed in response and I looked at him with furrowed. Why the fuck is he asking?

"Oh sorry the names Porco," he said while extending a hand for me to shake

I grabbed his hand and gave him a firm handshake "Eren"

The elevator dinged right after that and we both stepped out not sparring a glance at each other. Weird

Sitting at one of the two free desks in class I looked around and tried to see if any of my friends had the same class as me but I already knew that they didn't. sadly. I didn't end up going to class Monday because I had to go grab the rest of my shit from my house and seeing how Tuesday we didn't have class...

The door burst wide open causing everyone to snap their attention to who entered "good morning class!" The teacher I'm assuming yelled

I bunch of good mornings went throughout the room while she placed her coffee on the desk and walking to the front of it "so!" She clapped her hands together "We are going to be doing partner work today so pair up with the person sitting next to you!" She said and a bunch of groans followed everyone not wanting to have partners

I looked to my right and saw that everyone was already paired up and seeing how there was an empty chair to my left I would have to go by myself

Darn it (note the sarcasm)

Grabbing my notes from my bag a loud bang sounded throughout the whole class

"Here! Sorry, I'm late Hanji!" A girl yelled while busting down the door. You know the usual

"It's fine Mikasa do you have a note?"

Fuck. No. Dammit.

"Yeah here's a doctors note," she said while walking up to hanji and placing it in her hand now talking quietly

I couldn't hear what they were saying because now they were talking QUiEtLy but the change in Mikasa mood drastically changed after what Hanji said

She slowly turned her head and gazed around the room looking for someone and soon enough her grey eyes locked with my eyes and a glare was pointed my way

She went back to look at Hanji repeatedly shaking her head 'no' but Hangi just laughed and pointed towards the chair next to me

Fuck.

Mikasa nodded slowly a frown on her face while walking towards the empty desk with Hanji following behind her

"So you guys will now be partners so have fun!" Hanji said while giving both of us a wide smile. What the fuck.

Mikasa dropped her bag and slumped down in her seat, arms crossed and glaring straight ahead

"Work!"Hanji yelled from her desk glaring at both of us

"What's the assignment?" Mikasa asked while putting her elbow on the table and looking at me with a raised eyebrow

"We have to choose a branch of the brain to base our assignment on"

"Why are you even in this class?" She snipped

I leaned back in my chair and crossed my arms "Well why do you think dumbass?"

She shrugged "Sorry just thought you would be too dumb to actually become a doctor"

I rolled my eyes starting to get fed up with her little attitude "whatever can we just work? We are doing the brainstem" I said in a bored tone while grabbing my pen

"No"

"Yes"

"No asshole"

"Why not?"

She looked at me with furrowed eyebrows looking at me like she wanted to sTranGle me "because dumbass the brain stem is the simplest branch of the brain"

"So what?"

She sighed deeply and ran her hand through her hair "the brain stem mainly sits beneath the cerebrum and in front of the cerebellum." I raised an eyebrow urging her to go in "It connects the rest of the brain to the spinal cord, which runs down your neck and back. The brain stem is in charge of all the functions of your body this is just basic logic Eren so I'm saying we do something more complex than it to get a good grade"

I stared at her shocked. Sure I knew what the fucking brain stem does but I wasn't expecting her to go all out on her explanation. See the thing I use to love about Mikasa is that she's Fucking smart unlike some brainless bimbo but the keyword in that was; Use. so past tense

"Do you get it or does your tiny brain not comprehend?" She said now sounding annoyed but a hint of amusement in her eyes

"So what do you suggest miss teachers?"

She rolled her eyes "I say we do the Cerebrum it's better and it's cooler"

"But the Cerebrum just sits at the front of the brain and comprises gray matter with the cerebral cortex and white matter at its center so it's not that cool Mika"

"BuTtt the cerebrum initiates and coordinates movement and regulates temperature." She pointed at me with MY pen "so it's cooler...Oh! And it also has the other areas of the cerebrum enable speech, judgment, thinking and reasoning, emotions blah blah do you get it?"

I could see that she was really passionate about this and when Mikasa wants something she will usually get it but that won't stop me from annoying her

"No I actually don't get it sorry" I said with a smile

She looked at me with stone-cold face, her tongue rubbing against her teeth

"Can I have my pen back?"

"I'll shove this fucking pen down your throat till you choke on it" she deadpanned

I put my hands in fake surrender "fine whatever we can do your fucking idea"

She grinned sweetly at me "great! How long is the project?"

"Uh about one week"

Her face dropped "you're saying I have to be your partner for a week?"

"You think I want to be stuck with you?" I glared

"I think I want to punch that pretty little face of yours"

"You think I'm pretty?" I smiled and batted my eyelashes to annoy her

"I think a lot of things about you" she grinned evilly

"All good I hope?"

"Nope" she popped the 'p'

———Mikasa POV———

"Foot ball game?

"Yeah! Ymir is playing so we have to go" Sasha said while literally bouncing off the wall

"When?" I asked while sitting at my desk

"Tonight so get your ass up!"

"Let me finish this and I'll get ready" I said while shaking my head and smiling
