Mum lets me have the rest of the week off school. I hide out in my room for the first couple of days, then eventually I venture further to the living room to watch re-runs of Friends and eat cafe leftovers. This episode is one of my favourites, "Hellooo Mrs Ross, hellooo Mr Rachel!"

While I'm having a giggle to myself I check my phone for the millionth time, still nothing.

I haven't heard from Hunter since he brought me home the other day and I'm not quite sure how to feel about that. He was so wonderful and caring, then he just disappears, again.

This sucks!

"I need a surf," I say to myself.

I turn the T.v. off, stand up and brush all the cake crumbs off my pj's. I check the time on the massive wall clock mum brought from a garage sale for $1, it's hideous and green with no numbers, just dots which I find so irritating because it takes me twice as long to figure out what the time is, but she seems to think it's artistic.

Once I've worked out that it's 4 pm, I look down at myself still dressed in my pj's, when did I become so tragic? Then I see my phone on the couch, I smack myself on the forehead. Omg, why didn't I just check my phone for the time? I'm pretty sure all the cake and T.v. bingeing is starting to rot my brain!

I text Lexi to see if the wants to come for a surf with me because I don't want to go alone. She's going to be so disappointed about Skylar, she really seemed to like him. Then again, so did I!

I consider sitting back down with a new plate of cake when I notice my pathetic looking reflection in the TV.

No! I'm not going to hide away anymore because of some dickless, fuckface. I'm not going to let him have that power over me anymore. My phone dings and it's Lexi saying yes. Good, no backing out now.

I've been waiting by the old shed for ten minutes now and still no Lexi, then I notice I've missed a text from her.

Zoe wants to come too, taking forever!!!!!!! Come to house.

Ok, short and sweet. But yay! Zoe is coming too. I haven't talked to her much after our little confrontation a few weeks back, maybe she's forgiven me for neglecting her. I hope so cause I really miss spending time with her too.

I make my way up to the house. When I get to the front door it's open and I can hear voices coming from inside.

"Why can't we hang out now?" I hear Emily say in a whiny voice.

Great!

I look up at the sky and quietly shout,

"God, why do you hate me so much?"

I peek inside the door a little and see them standing on the stairs.

"Because I'm busy now, I told you I'll come by later,"

Hunter says to her sounding annoyed. Not surprised, she is pretty annoying!

My phone dings again and they both turn to look at me. Hunter has a smile, Emily has a scowl.

"Sorry don't mind me, I just came to get Zoe and Lexi. We're all going for a surf," I say.

"So this is why you're too busy, your going surfing with her?" Emily says in an icy tone.

"What? No. I didn't even know she was coming over."

Then just before things get way too uncomfortable, we see the girls coming down the stairs.

"Fine, whatever," Emily says whilst turning and walking down the rest of the stairs.

As she walks towards me I step to the side to let her through, she looks angry. As she comes past she slows down and her face completely changes.

"So you sucked Skylar's dick hey? sounded like it was pretty disgusting, from what you were screaming at him the other day."

I'm dumbfounded, I was not expecting that to come out of her mouth, then she keeps talking.

"Then again Skylar is disgusting! Don't worry Maddie, you just need to find the right guy, I rather enjoy sucking Hunter's dick and he definitely enjoys it. Gives as good as he gets too, if you know what I mean," she says to me with an evil smirk.

And just like that, she walks off leaving me standing there completely stunned!

I look up and Hunter is talking to the girls on the stairs, all completely oblivious to what just happened.

Hunter looks over at me and frowns, "Maddie, you ok?"

I ignore him and look at the girls.

"You two ready to go," I ask, forcing a smile.

"Yes and don't worry Hunter we're always careful," Lexi says before running down the stairs and out the door, followed by Zoe.

I turn to follow them but I'm stopped by a firm grip on my shoulder.

"She said something didn't she?"

I turn to look at Hunter who looks angry.

I don't want to repeat what she said and I don't want to get in the middle of their drama so I don't say anything and go to keep walking.

"Maddie!"

His grip on my shoulder tightens.

"Don't worry about it Hunter, it doesn't matter. She doesn't like me, I get it,"

His hand slides down my arm and he grabs my hand.

"You're still my best friend Maddie, whether you like it or not and I won't put up with people hurting you, no matter who they are."

I close my eye's to stop the tears but I can't seem to hold them back.

I feel Hunter's thumb wiping them away and I open my eyes, we are face to face and he's looking at me intently. I can't stop myself, I smash my lips to his. He seems a little taken by surprise but quickly recovers and starts kissing me back.

Now, this is what a kiss should feel like, passionate and intense. He pulls me close, so close. He leaves one hand on my lower back and the other is caressing my cheek. My hands are splayed against his hard chest, man he feels so good. He sucks on my bottom lip and my knees go weak. Then a voice breaks through the moment and we both jump away from each other so fast.

I look around and realise it's Lexi yelling from outside, telling me to hurry up. Luckily they are already around the side of the house by now so they didn't see anything, but I still got a massive fright. Now I feel bad, even though Emily is being a cow, she was just here visiting her boyfriend then two seconds after she leaves I throw myself at him.

"I'm really sorry," I say.

"I shouldn't have done that," I add.

Before he can say anything I turn and run. As I catch up with the girls I turn to look behind me and Hunter is standing next to the side of the house running his hands through his messy hair looking frustrated. He won't make a scene in front of his sisters so he stays where he is.

Oh well, now he knows what it's like for someone to kiss you then immediately run off.
