"J-Jungkook, t-take me home." You managed to speak turning away from the man whose face is scary to your subconscious.
"What's happening Y/n? Tell me. You don't seem to be fine." He spoke tucking the strands of hair behind your ear and caressing your bare back.
"P-please Jungkook. I want to go home." You begged snuggling into his chest, trying your best to not burst into tears.
"Alright. Let's go." He said and two of you were about to leave when that person called out.
"Your glass of water." He said and Jungkook quickly grabbed the glass making you sip it slowly.
"Better Y/n?" He asked growing worried and impatient with each passing second. You nodded slightly.
"Y/n?" The thing you least wanted to happen perhaps approached you.
You turned around and looked into his eyes.
"It's you, right? Y/n, do you recognize me? It's dad!" He smiled at you. Jungkook's eyes almost popped out of the socket at this unexpected meetup.
"Dad? Hats off to your audacity." You chuckled bitterly.
"Are you still mad at me? That was all in the past." He spoke weakly coming closer to touch your hand but Jungkook was quick enough to pull you in his arms.
"Don't." He said through gritted teeth.
"Who are you?" He asked.
"Her husband." Jungkook replied and walked out along with you.
Both of you entered the home with tired bodies and minds. You headed to your room to change but he stopped you holding your hand.
"Don't overthink." He said cupping your cheeks.
"I can't help Jungkook." You told your honest thoughts.
"I know but don't forget you've got me by your side. It's not just if we laugh together and cry separately." He told pecking your plump lips.

"Thank you, Koo." You smiled faintly before getting engulfed in his arms.
"I'll change and come." You told and he nodded.
Changing into a simple warm night suit, you headed to his room. You have your stuff in your room but for a few days, you sleep with him.
You entered the room at a very wrong time. He was half-naked again, probably in the middle of changing as he was no longer wearing his pants but a regular pyjama.
"You look hot half-naked." You teased plopping on the bed.
"Do I? Just the start." He winked making you burst into laughter. You laughed and laughed and laughed unless those laughs turned into tears and then sobs.
"Y/n? Are you okay?" He asked sitting beside you and holding your frame gently. You shook your head in 'no'.
"I don't even know how to react. Why did he have to come back like this? I felt horrible just by looking at him." You cried hiding your face in your palms.
"Relax Y/n. You shouldn't cry like that. You're a brave person. Think about your mom, she must be feeling bad for you right now. Don't worry. I won't let him hurt you again. I am there for you, do remember that." He spoke removing your hands and wiping your tears with his thumb.
"I'm sorry for troubling you like this. I just want a peaceful life, free from the trauma I had in my past. He hurt Mom and me. He's not even guilty about that." You sobbed more and he could do nothing but just look at you pitifully.
"In fact, I'd like you to face him. I want you to make him realize how he ruined two lives. You have all the right to burst out on him. I don't want you to hold back yourself. I'm standing by your side." He told making you stop crying.

"The moment I looked at him, I remembered my Mom's horrible state. Her sobs echoed in my ears. All the taunts we heard, started resonating in my ears. Ju-" You spoke wiping your tears but he didn't let you complete and instead, he kissed you for a few seconds.
"I know Y/n. I know how you feel and you very well know that no one can understand you right now better than me. I'd also react the same if it happens to me." He said making you smile weakly.
"For now, let's just sleep." He added and both of you lay down in each other's arms. It took you seconds to fall asleep as you were so exhausted.
"I'll make sure you take it all out. Let's figure it out nicely." He said pecking your swollen eyes and dozed off.
You woke up when the alarm rang and found no one beside you. You looked around the house and finally spotted him in the balcony, busy on his phone.
"Koo!" You called out capturing him in your tiny back hug.
"Morning." He mouthed turning around and hanging up the phone.
"Why are you up so early today?" You asked.
"To maybe, prepare a date for us?" He chuckled.
"Date? When did you become so cheesy, Koo!" You laughed.
"The moment I fell in love with the girl standing in front of me." He told ruffling your hair.
"Ok, done with the kiss-ups." You told fake glaring at him.
"I saw a dream." You told whilst being dragged by him to the dining table.
"What did you see?" He asked placing some light breakfast in front of you.
"A very handsome guy." You told and your eyes shone.
"Really?" He raised his eyebrows.
"Yea. He was so handsome and sweet. He offered me some Ramen and we even had a movie night together." You told and stuffed your mouth with food.
"Oh, I see. You like to go out with other guys." He whispered and you pressed your lips in a thin line.
"No, I just really loved the guy." You smiled zoning out. He sighed in annoyance.
"Even I dreamt of a very sexy girl. We had some wine together and-"
"And what Jungkook?" You asked with your eyes almost popping out.
"And she didn't even get drunk after having around half bottle of the wine." He emphasized.
"Okay then. Find the girl and go out with her. I'm planning to go out with that boy." You said banging the spoon on the table.

NOTE: A review on this fiction has indicated that certain themes were traumatizing. While I believe this to be exagerated, I have added the appropriate tag for those who may be sensitive to those themes (fever dreams, delusions, and trials and tribulations).

Stairway to Heaven
Humans are complicated, awfully fragile beings, far too weak to survive amid the other extraterrestrials that lie dormant across the galaxies. Instead of physical altercations, they would rather engage in verbal abuse, breaking an individual's psyche as a hobby. They excel at deception and manipulation, far too interested in bringing their brothers and sisters down and reaching for the top of their self-made hierarchies. Beyond their questionable nature and moral compasses, they long to find meaning in their lives and put names to the feelings that drive each passing moment. They are insatiable—far too greedy for more knowledge and a supposed understanding of their lives. It's pitiable, really, the way they struggle to find themselves while ravaging their kind through petty wars and conflicts built off of misunderstanding. Humans are complicated, awfully fragile beings. They created words and languages to fill the holes that lived inside their souls, desperate for ways to find meaning in their incredibly short lifespans. They'll waste their entire lives trying to find their so-called passions and reasons for living, acting as if they truly rule the way their lives go, supposed "controllers of their own destiny." Yet, they cannot evade the inevitable visit from death, who stands next to them, ticking the seconds down until their demise.
