《in time ✱ j. jungkook》✱ chapter thirty-two

I was currently still laying on the bed at the nurse's office. She said I was beaten up pretty badly and suggested that I should just stay here for the rest of the day.
Of course I wasn't going to protest.
We actually had a pretty good time. As she treated my bruises, she talked about her life, how she met her husband, the proposal, the marriage, and when they first found out that they were expecting a baby.
The story made me feel all soft inside. Watching her talk about her child and husband was so comforting, you could genuinely tell that her heart was full of love for them.
Could I just stay here for the rest of senior year?
It now neared the end of the day. My wounds were covered in bandages, resulting me to have a big bandaid on my cheek and small cuts around my face.
Talk about attractive.
But now that the school day ended, there was only one thing I was dreading.
Buying ice cream for Jungkook.
The nerve of that guy! I can't believe he really wants me to go out looking like this.
"Miyoung," The nurse called. I looked at her with a small smile. "There's someone here to come get you. A boy." She winks and walks away.
My head falls onto the pillow as I groan. There was only one boy coming to get me.
On cue, the curtain opens, revealing a smug looking Jungkook. He leans on the wall, crossing his arms over his chest as he looks at my form.
"You look like shit." He says while trying to stifle a laugh.
I scoff, sitting up on the edge of the bed. "Thanks, because a girl loves hearing that."
I put my shoes on and walk to Jungkook. "I need to go to my locker and get all my stuff before we leave."

He nods. "Okay, I'll come with you."
As we were heading out of the office, I turn to the nurse and beam at her. "Thank you so much for everything."
She smiles and mouths no problem. I wave at her before heading out of the room with Jungkook.
We start walking to my locker, him talking about what I missed out today. I just hum and nod, still upset with the fact that he's forcing me out looking like this.
I grab my things out of my locker, shoving them in my backpack. I swing it over my shoulders and mutter, "Let's go."
We walk to the ice cream parlor. He starts small conversations, mostly about him bragging about how some girl threw himself on him when he was walking to the bathroom.
"It was crazy," he exaggerates. "I was already in the bathroom, getting ready to take a dump when some girl literally throws herself on me and sends us tumbling down."
"What a wild ride." I sarcastically say.
We finally reach the ice cream parlor. I let out a sigh of relief, not wanting to hear any more about that subject.
We order and grab our ice creams and sit by a booth near the window.
"Thanks for the ice cream." He grins while licking it.
I roll my eyes. "I didn't really have much of a choice."
He winks. "True."
"Hey, what's going on between you and Taehyung?" I ask, curiosity getting the best of me.
During the time I was on the bed, all I could keep thinking about was Taehyung and Jungkook. The fire between them was unbearable, I hated seeing them like that. And to see neither one of them trying to resolve things was even worse.

Was it because of me? I wasn't sure.
I don't understand why it would be because of me. Maybe it's just my mind playing tricks on me.
Jungkook grits his teeth at the mention of his name. "We're just not agreeing on something right now. Don't worry about it, it isn't any of your business."
"But—"
"Look, can you just drop it?" Jungkook bitterly says, catching me off guard. "You really don't have any business meddling in and trying to work things out."
I blink. "O-Okay."
To say I was shocked would be a complete and utter understatement. I've never heard Jungkook talk with such intensity and anger before, and hearing it for the first time made
me realize that I never wanted to hear that again.
He sighs, running his hand through his hair. "Can we just not talk about him today?"
I nod quickly. "Sure."
I didn't want to see that side of him again. It was better to let all these questions eat at me than have Jungkook glare daggers at me.
I didn't understand why, but I hated when he looked at me like that. Usually that kind of stuff wouldn't get to me, but this was different.
We ate the rest of our ice cream in silence. I didn't dare to say a word, still shocked by his outburst of anger.
Jungkook was most likely thinking about his fight with Taehyung, all thanks to me for bringing it up.
I cleared my throat. "Uh, so did you hear that the student council is planning a dance in two weeks?"
He looks up at me. "Yeah I heard about it."
I nod slowly. "Cool, cool." I bite my lip and look around the parlor. "You thinking about asking anyone?"
"I have someone in mind," Jungkook lowly says. "But I don't think they'd want to go with me."
Furrowing my eyebrows, I ask, "Why not? You literally have the whole female population in the school dying for you to ask them."
It may seem like I was exaggerating, I kid you not. Even the tiny freshmen were drooling at the sight of him.
"Not all of them."
I bite my lip to hold back a gasp. He was looking at me so intensely, I felt something burn at the pit of my stomach.
Shaking off this feeling, I chuckle awkwardly. "Uh, you mean the girls who are lesbian? Yeah, I don't think they'd want to go with you either."
Awkwardness now hung around the air. A part of me was telling me he was talking about me, but the other part said that he was just messing with me.
Jungkook clears his throat. "What about you, you hoping anyone will ask you?"
Taehyung.
But I wasn't going to say that to him, knowing how angry he was with him at the moment.
So instead I shrug. "Well duh."
"Will you say yes to anyone who asks you?" Jungkook asks, leaning his head on his hand while gazing curiously at me.
I nod. "Yeah, saying no to someone who obviously worked up the courage to ask is just terrible. I'd say yes to anyone."
"Good to know." Jungkook says.
My eyes quickly fall on him. What did he have planning up his sleeve?
"What are you hiding, Jeon?" I ask.
He winks. "That's for me to know and for you to find out."
