thank you for 2K reads! i'm genuinely shook right now omg
"I don't get it." Jungkook said out of the blue.
We were currently walking home, none of us daring to say a word.
Why? Well, after I had kissed him on the cheek back at the pizza parlor, everything got all tense and awkward.
His teammates had come up to our booth and hollered at us, congratulating Jungkook and stuff.
We didn't like all the attention on us, so we decided to get out of there.
And so here we were. Jungkook had offered to walk me to my house, and the entire walk was silent until just now.
"You don't get what?" I asked.
He sighed and glanced at me. "Why you kissed me on the cheek. First you were going off about how you hated the idea of us being in a relationship, and then you compliment me and kiss me on the cheek. Why did you do that?"
I gulped. Why did I do that?
I'm so stupid.
"As a congratulations for winning state championship?" I squeaked out awkwardly.
He chuckled, "And why would you think that would be a good gift to give me?"
I shrugged, "I dunno. Kill two birds with one stone I guess."
"What do you mean?"
"What is this, a quiz show?" I dramatically say. "Well you were right, I shouldn't have been overreacting about the whole thing. And your teammates and cheerleaders were watching us like hawks, so why not get back at them."
Jungkook hums, stuffing his hands in his pocket. We were finally reaching my house, thank God.
"You should've seen your face. Priceless." I remark once we reach my porch.
He rolls his eyes. "Well you caught me by surprise."

My eyes light up. "Wait, does this mean I win?"
"Win at what?" Jungkook snorts. "We didn't set up a challenge. You didn't win shit."
I hissed at him. He always manages to back me up in a corner.
"See you tomorrow Miss Second Place. Thanks for joining me tonight, it was. . . eventful." Jungkook waves, backing away from my house.
I bite my lip to hold in a yell. "Don't call me that!"

I was currently at my locker, gathering my necessary books for third period when I heard someone call out my name behind me.
Turning around, I meet Taehyung who has a somewhat nervous expression etched on his face.
"Hey Taehyung!" I happily greet, my heart fluttering as I turn back around to close my locker. "Jungkook and I missed you yesterday, we went to the pizza parlor and Jungkook was—"
"Yeah, I know." He cut me off, catching me off guard. His voice was rather blunt.
I blinked a couple of times. "Okay. . ." I draw out, moving slightly away from him. "Well, I gotta get to third period but we'll chat later, okay?"
Before I could walk away from this tensed atmosphere, Taehyung had grabbed my arm and pulled me back to face him.
Was he okay?
I was shocked at his behavior. The Taehyung I knew was never this rough, especially not with me.
Was something bothering him?
"Uh Taehyung? You good?" I gently ask.
He sighs, releasing my arm and looking down at the ground. "I wanted to talk with you about something."
Oh that's right! He had wanted to tell me something yesterday before Jungkook had ruined our little moment.
That little shit.
"Right! But could we possibly talk after third period? I really have to get going to class before the bell rings, and you should to." I say not wanting to get another tardy.

Taehyung sighs again and hesitantly nods. "Okay. But promise me you'll meet me right here in front of your lockers after. I really want to get this off my chest."
I was taken by surprise. "Yeah definitely."
He mutters out a small thank you before heading to his class in the opposite side of where I was going.
I watched his retreating figure, thousands of questions flooding my mind.
Oh wait I have to get to class.
I quickly ran to class and got in right as the bell rang. The teacher gave me a pointed look while I just grinned at her and made my way to my seat right in front of Jungkook.
He gave me a questioning look but I ignored it, sitting down and ignoring everything and everyone around me, only listening to the thoughts in my head.
Why was Taehyung acting so weird? He seemed nervous, almost strange. I've never seen him so rough.
What was so important that he needed to tell me? It was obvious that it hadn't left his mind ever since last night.
I thought about Taehyung and the question so much that I didn't notice that the class had officially ended. I quickly gathered my things and rushed to get out the door when a hand grabbed my arm.
Deja vú?
"You seem jumpy today." Jungkook commented wearily.
I yanked my arm out of his grip. "Sorry Jeon, no time for small talk."
If he said something else, I didn't hear it. Because after I finished my sentence, I had bolted out of the class to my lockers.
Taehyung. Taehyung. Taehyung.
When I reached my lockers, there he was in all of his glory.
"Taehyung!" I called out, running up to him.
He immediately grabbed my arm and pulled me out of the hallway and out to the benches outside. He sat me down and stood in front of me.
He was fidgeting with his hands, his foot tapping repeatedly on the ground.
"Taehyung," I gently call out to him, his head snapping up to face me. "Calm down. Take a deep breath."
His face was super red. He gulped and nodded.
Cute.
"Right," He stuttered out. "I've been wanting to get this off my chest for a while now, so I hope you'll listen to me."
I nod. "Of course."
Taehyung lets out a small smile before starting. "Miyoung, you're wonderful. You always manage to bright up my day when I'm feeling down. You always know what to do to make me smile. You-You make me feel things I've never felt before with anyone."
I gasp, my eyes widening at his sudden outburst.
Was he saying what I think he was saying?
"And what you were saying about the whole love thing yesterday at the game, it got me thinking. I want to try it with you, Miyoung. I want us to experience the crazy journey of love together. And I was hoping you would want to too."
Taehyung stops talking, leaning down to meet face-to-face with me. His eyes boring into mine like there was no tomorrow.
I was sure as hell I was dark red by now.
"Miyoung. . . would you like to go on a date with me?"
