《in time ✱ j. jungkook》✱ chapter seven

Saturday came in a blink of an eye. To be honest, I wasn't as nervous as I was during the beginning of the week.
Youngjae and I texted a lot during the week, and we've become friends, which is great because I wouldn't want to go to a party with someone who I was awkward with.
He's a really funny and sweet guy. Nayoung sure knows my type.
But it's safe to say we don't like each other like that. He actually has his eye on someone and well, we all know where my eyes are at.
My phone began to ring and Nayoung's name flashed across my screen. "What do you want hoe?" I asked as I picked the phone, rummaging through my closet to see if I had anything to wear.
Now here's the part where I say I can't find anything to wear because this happens in every movie ever. But I'm dead serious, I really don't have anything to wear for a party.
My closet consists of sweatpants, sweatshirts, jeans, and over-sized shirts. There are probably one or two cute shirts in there, but other than that, nothing.
"I'm coming over! I have something for you to wear since I know you'd most likely go with your sweatshirt and jeans and I am not allowing that." She says.
I scoff, slowly putting away my Adidas sweater. "I wasn't going to wear a sweatshirt. But fine, the door's unlocked just walk right in."
She hums then hangs up. I sigh and plop down on my bed. I had already picked out my famous leather pants that I barely wear, only on special occasion.
This was a very special occasion indeed.
Just as I was about to go on my phone and check Twitter, Nayoung barges in my room with shopping bags in her hands.
"That was fast," I muttered as I watched her put down the shopping bags on my bed. She nodded, "Yeah, I was just on your street when I called you."
So she was basically coming to my house even if I turned her down. That's comforting.
"Keep those pants, I like them. I actually brought a crop top for you to wear." She says, fishing in her bag and pulling out a black crop top out of the bag.
I take a good look at it. "That's cute. What are you wearing?" I take the crop top from her and slip it on, watching her take out a floral romper out of the other bag and smiling.
"That's way cuter than what I'm wearing." I whine as she puts it on.
Nayoung giggles and turns around, "Well that outfit is more you and this outfit is definitely me. I don't want you to go all out for the party."

"What if I want to go all out?" I fire back.
She raises an eyebrow and crosses her arms as she gives me the really look.
I scoff, "Fine. You're doing my makeup, right?" She nods happily and pulls me to my vanity and begins to work on me.
After a long hour of tugging at my hair and splashing my face with all the makeup she brought, I looked at the reflection.
The makeup was a little dark then what I would normally put on, but somehow Nayoung managed to make it work.
I smiled at her in gratitude and moved out of the way so she could start working on herself.
It was finally 6:30, Nayoung had already left because she too was going with someone and they had decided to meet somewhere else. Youngjae texted me and said he was on his way.
I couldn't contain the butterflies that were dancing around in my stomach. Something was going to happen at this party, and I couldn't tell if that was going to be a good thing or a bad thing.
All I know is that I look pretty good and I got a cute date.
A ring at my door was heard and my head snapped up quicker than Lightning McQueen can say kachow.
Youngjae was here.
I smiled as I opened the door, immediately letting my jaw drop at his attire.
"Wow, you look great!" Youngjae complimented me, offering me his hand which I gladly took. "I never took you as the person that would go dark."
I snorted, closing the door behind me as we went to his car. "I'm more of a baggy clothes type of person. I almost came out with a sweatshirt and jeans."
He laughs as he opens the passenger door for me. I stride and he closes the door, hopping on the other side to his seat and starting the car.
"Nayoung didn't let you?" He asks.
I laugh, "She would probably have my head if I showed up at a party wearing that sort of stuff."
"I could see that happening."
The car ride was full of joking and laughing. I really enjoyed being with Youngjae, he always made sure the atmosphere was light and fun, and if it were quiet just for a second, he would bring up a childhood story or something. I really appreciated how he handled this whole ordeal.
We made it to Taehyung's house and my insides were already turning inside out.
We stopped in front of yet another mansion. I knew Taehyung was rich, but not as rich as Jungkook?
Oh what am I thinking. If you're in Jungkook's clan, you've definitely got to be top dog.

"Woah." Youngjae breathes, getting out of the car and opening the door for me.
"I feel so small here." I say lowly, grabbing his arm. "How about we just go out for pizza instead?"
Youngjae laughs, grabbing my hand and intertwining it with his. "There's most likely pizza in there," I huff and he chuckles, squeezing my hand before assuring me, "Don't worry, I'll be right by your side the entire time. It'll be fun!"
I felt myself relax a bit more as I let out a small okay.
We started heading towards the house, my stomach going back at it.
Well, it's not okay.
There were people making out on the hoods of their cars, other people running around the house, and girls taking pictures of themselves.
If there were so many people out here, just imagine how many people were inside.
And I was right. Once we opened the door, we were greeted with a flood of people. Youngjae and I glance at each other with wide eyes.
He pulls me through the crowd, "I see Nayoung!" I nod and relax when I see Nayoung laughing.
With... a.. BOY??
I smirked inwardly as we reached them, "Nayoung! Who's this fella?" I ask, smirking at her.
Her face was turning beet red, "This is my friend Jung Hoseok. He's in my electives class. Hoseok, this is my best friend Miyoung and her date Youngjae."
The guy she was previously talking to let out a bright smile. "Hey guys! Did you just come here?"
I nod, "Yeah, how come Taehyung knows so many people?" I look around wearily.
Hoseok laughs, "He doesn't. When people hear that there's going to be a party, they just show up. They don't need to know the person."
I nod. Us four fall in silence for a moment before I decide to be the one to break the ice, "Should we go out to the dance floor and show these people our sick ass moves?"
The three laugh, following me to where everyone started dancing. We all huddled together, laughing and doing crazy moves.
So far, no Taehyung, and thankfully no Jungkook.
It seemed as if though this party was going to go smoothly. Us four were having a blast dancing on the floor, joking around with each other and dancing like the time of our lives.
But then, that's when Youngjae decided he needed to pee. I gave him a puppy dog look and grabbed his arm.
"What," he chuckled, "You want to follow me to the bathroom? It'll only be a second, then I'll come back and you and I can go get some food. Deal?"
I sighed and let go of his arm, "Alright, but if you don't see me here, just know that I've been kidnapped and possibly dead."
"You're so dramatic," he laughs, waving before going through the sea of people.
My shoulders slump, looking back over at Nayoung and Hoseok who were now in their own little world.
Me, being the good best friend that I am, decided not to barge in and let them have their own time. I did basically barge in the first time and forced them to hang out with Youngjae and I.
But if it were truly up to me, I would've got in between the middle of them.
Sounds tempting.
While I was debating if I should just ruin their moment, a breath fanned on my neck. I jumped and turned around to come in contact with Jungkook himself.
Oh fuck.
Why did Youngjae have to pee when I need him the most right now?
"Miyoung, what a surprise. Didn't think you would actually show. Where's your date?" He asks smoothly, a side smirk forming on those dreaded lips of his.
I sigh and look around. "In the bathroom. He's probably lost since they're so many people here. And didn't I tell you I was coming?" I fired back, crossing my arms over my chest.
Jungkook scoffs. "In the bathroom? Sure. You look pathetic standing there watching your best friend going off with another guy."
If I slapped him right here and now, that would cause a scene. And I was surely not up for that kind of thing.
But I would also have the satisfaction of slapping him.
"Is everything alright here?" Youngjae asks, circling his hand around my waist, giving it a small squeeze while looking at me.
Relief washed over me as I let myself relax in his arms. Thank goodness.
Jungkook on the other hand looked shocked.
Take that, ass wipe!
"E-Everything's okay. Who are you?" He stumbled across his words.
He looked at Youngjae's arm around my waist but quickly looked back up at Youngjae, a challenging look on face.
Uh what was that?
"I'm Yoo Youngjae," he paused, looking at me and kissing my head. My eyes went wide and my cheeks flushed, "I'm Miyoung's date tonight. Problem?"
Everything suddenly seemed quiet around us. The atmosphere was so tense.
Jungkook's fists clenched on his sides as he looked at me. "No, there's no problem. Enjoy your night." He briskly walked away, leaving me and Youngjae speechless.
This was the first time the both of us were quiet together.
