《in time ✱ j. jungkook》✱ chapter four

"Good luck!" Nayoung whisper shouted at me as she pushed me towards Jungkook. She waved and walked away, leaving me to face a day alone with Jungkook.
Why did I even agree to this?
"Alright Miyoung, I have you as my slave for a whole day." Jungkook smirked down at me.
When is he never not smirking? "Yep." I commented dryly, lowkey rolling my eyes. "What do you want me to do, senpai?"
Jungkook raised an eyebrow, "Senpai?"
"I'm being sarcastic, stupid."
"No shit," He retorted back. "Let's head over to my house and we'll start from there."
His house? What in the world was he thinking about doing to me?
He was definitely going to get rid of me for good.
As if he read my mind, he chuckled, "Don't worry, I won't try anything on you. Besides, you're not my type anyways."
Wait . . . Did he really think I was thinking he would try anything on me?
The thought alone makes me want to burst out laughing.
Too late.
I stared at him with wide eyes before laughing loudly, clutching my stomach in the process. "T-Try anything on me? Woah there, slow your horses buddy. No one was thinking about that except you."
"Well you seemed pretty shocked that I said to come over to my house." He said, furrowing his eyebrows at me.
I calmed down after a bit, wiping the little tear that managed to escape my eye. "Well duh, first of all I never come to your house unless it's for a project or if our parents want to have a dinner. Second, I'm your rival, you could easily kill me on your turf."
He rolled his eyes at me and clutched the strap of his backpack. "I don't understand how you're second ranked in the school when you're this dumb. Let's get going." He began walking, leaving me with my mouth hung slightly open.
Dumb? As if!
I huffed out a breath and began wearily following behind him, making sure there was a good five feet distance between us.
Safety first am I right?
We walked in silence, none of us daring to say a word.
How am I supposed to have a casual conversation with my rival? If I asked how his day was going, he would jump to conclusions and think I was trying something on him. If I asked what grade he got on our Calculus quiz, he would think that I was trying to know his grade to see if I got a higher grade.
Well, that second part isn't particularly false.
After what seemed like a billion years, we finally reached his house. I looked over to Nayoung's house, mentally making a note that I would go over later and beat her ass up for leaving me alone at school with Jungkook.

We entered his house. It looked the same as last time. Expensive.
The house was super quiet. That started to make me nervous. "Uh, Jungkook?" I asked, watching him set down his backpack on the couch. "Are your parents home?"
He watched me with an amused expression. "Nope, they're out on a business trip and don't come back until next Monday."
I blinked. "What about your maids?"
Surprise, surprise, the Jeon's have a whole staff of maids and butlers working for them. Another factor as to why Jungkook's ego is so big.
"They all have the week off since my parents are gone. They serve me no use since it's just me. I'm old enough to do my own things." He responded, a small smirk beginning to form on his face.
Oh shit. So it's really just Jungkook and I in this mansion? With no one here?
Oh shit. Oh shit. Oh shit. Oh shit. Oh shit.
Why does the world hate me? Now he definitely has the advantage of ending me without anyone to witness it.
"Why? Does it make you nervous to be alone with me?"
I let my mouth hang open as I gape at Jungkook who sits triumphantly on the couch with one of his legs crossed over the other.
Is he enjoying this?
He shoots a grin.
He's enjoying this, damn it!
I'm not letting him have that satisfaction. Not if I can help it.
I roll my eyes, "As if. You know, you don't attract every female in the world."
"Oh," he responds casually, "So you're gay?"
Taehyung's face flashes in my mind. "What? No! What does that have to do with anything?"
He chuckles and pats the spot next to him on the couch. I sigh and lamely walk over, carefully sitting down just in case he tried to shove me on the floor.
"I'm pretty sure every girl I've met has fallen on my knees, begging me to take them. You're the only one who hasn't, that must mean you're gay, right?"
He-
Is he dumb? Is his ego really that big?
What the actual fuck is wrong with this guy?
"How are you ranked first in the entire school. . ." I mutter to myself. I then look up into his eyes. "Listen, just because I'm not attracted to you doesn't mean I'm gay. In fact, Nayoung isn't attracted to you either and she is not gay. Now, can we move on from this topic please? It's giving me a headache."
Jungkook snorted and folded his arms across his chest. "Whatever. Your first task as my slave is to do my homework."
Hold up. "Excuse me what?"
"Are you deaf? You heard me."
I scoffed. This guy is so unbelievable. "Jeon Jungkook, you're literally ranked first in the entire school. You're really asking me to do your homework when you could easily pull it off in five seconds? Have you really got no shame?"

"Miss Second Place, we made a deal. If I won that competition, you would be my slave for the rest of the day. That means whatever I order you to do, you do them with no complaint." He retorts back, a smug expression creeping onto his face.
That bastard! Has he got no sense of humility in him?
I raise my hands to my forehead, massaging my temples in attempt to calm myself down. I can't beat the living shit out of him right here, who knows if the Jeon's have secret security cameras lounged in some crack.
Plus, God knows what he'd do to me if I did beat him up.
I'd probably be dead.
"Jungkook," I say as sweetly as possible, slowly turning my head to face him, "Wouldn't it be better if we just worked on homework together? That way we both would finish quickly and we both benefit from this."
He says nothing. Instead, he blinks a couple of times and sighs. "You're breaking the deal, Miyoung."
"Think about it," I ignore his comment, "If we worked on this together, we both finish quickly, then I have more time to be your so-called slave. It's a win-win."
Not really, I still have to play the role as the slave either way. But I sure as hell was not going to do the same homework twice.
After a couple moments of me practically begging on my knees, Jungkook gives in. We situate ourselves on the couch and begin homework.
One and a half hour later, we are finally complete with both of our homework. To be honest, it wasn't all that bad. Jungkook only spoke up if I asked him something or vice versa. He would make a comment about school here and there, but there was no teasing or calling "Miss Second Place."
But of course, that wouldn't last for long.
Right after we had finished homework, he started to order me around. He made me make him dinner, specifically a turkey sandwich with a side of salad and a Coke. Once I had given his plate, he made me turn on the T.V. and flip the channel until he said to stop.
Fun fact: the T.V. remote was right beside him.
God knows how long I spent flipping channels just until he was satisfied, then got bored after five minutes and the same routine comes again.
Once he was finished with his dinner, he made me wash his dish, put away the dishes that were in the dishwasher, and clean the kitchen.
"It's convenient for you," he says while I'm scrubbing the sink, "You're right in the kitchen anyways, might as well get the whole mess cleaned up, no?"
I swear I almost threw the knife laying next to me right at him.
After I was done cleaning the kitchen, I plop down on the couch while Jungkook went to the bathroom. I check my phone.
10:03pm.
My eyes bulge as I stand up hurriedly and begin to grab my things.
My parents are going to have my head on a platter and serve it to Jungkook, no doubt.
It takes me at least twenty to thirty minutes to walk from this house to mine.
That's it. There's no way I'm living until tomorrow.
"Well as much as I loved being your slave," I say as I head towards the door once I hear Jungkook step back into the living room, "My parents await. It was a pleasure, Jeon. Would love to do it again sometime." I sarcastically bow, opening the door.
"Wait," Jungkook says, grabbing my arm.
My eyes widen as I feel myself completely stop. I turn around to see Jungkook with a small scowl on his face.
"It's late, why don't I drive you home? You won't be as late." He offers, slightly tilting his head.
Damn it, that head tilt was cute.
Uh, excuse me? Time to jump off a cliff.
Miyoung, what the hell was that?
"Miyoung?" Jungkook snaps me out of my trance.
"Uh, yeah sure, I guess." I stumble upon my words awkwardly, scolding myself for even thinking about a forbidden thing like that. "Thanks."
We get into his car and speed off towards my house.
Man, what are my parents going to do to me? I should've called or texted them saying I was going to be running a little late.
The entire ride there was silent, none of us tried to start a conversation.
I can't wait to get out.
Once we reached my house, I unbuckled my seat belt and turned to look at Jungkook who was already looking back at me. "Uh, thanks for the ride."
"No problem, sorry for keeping you so late. Time just flew by." He muttered, not taking his eyes off of me.
Okay. This atmosphere is getting super weird and tense.
Abort now, abort now!
"Yep, definitely your fault." I say quickly, opening the doors and jumping out.
"See you tomorrow, Miss Second Place!" Jungkook says, slowly pulling out of my driveway.
I growl and clench my fists. Cocky Jungcock was back. "Don't call me that!"
I watched him laugh and finally pull away, his car getting further and further.
I slowly turned around and started to head towards my house.
Now to face the wrath of my parents.

Needletongue, Carrotcake
The world isn't fair. If anything, the inherent injustice of the world is what separates it from the fiction we so adore. Luis Freighthold knew this all too well, and that was why it took a bit longer than it should have to realise when he suddenly had everything he could ever have wanted. Raised in a working-class single-father home, Luis had no other escape than fiction. Specifically, vampire stories of varying quality and genre. There was something appealing about the ability to fly, turn into shadows and become smoke. Danger. An unfamiliarity with the social world that rejected him so. Was it so wrong for him to hope for a different life? Maybe, maybe not. Either way, now he had it—a lust for blood and abilities beyond the understanding of civil man. Could you really say that he had anything left to complain about? A vampire story following an unconventional vampire boy forced to accept that maybe becoming a vampire doesn't magically solve all your problems. As a matter of fact, it might just make a whole bunch of them even worse. Regardless, Luis is prepared to try everything to live up to the vampire books he had previously gorged on. What did it matter that his vampire form had no teeth, replaced instead by a long, needle-tipped tongue? He was still a vampire, wasn't he? Chapters are around 10 A4 pages long, releasing once a week on Mondays, 01:00 CET.
