"Get yo lil' bad ass down!" Duck scolded Zariah who was climbing on the couch with her pink Crocs on. She pouted but slid down anyway.
Duck, Aijah, Zion, Rell, and Eli were all over Mari and Samiron's house. Eli and Rell were already on their way over there, along with Aijah who was coming from the studio. So Samiron called Duck to come over and bring Zari. Mari was still at the studio even though she didn't need to be. She was doing extra work as usual.
"Y'all kids must be brushing their teeth with crack." Eli grumbled, throwing Cee on the couch who was in a fit of laughter after Eli caught her climbing on the kitchen counter.
"On god. The only normal one is Sani." Rell shook his head at Sani who was sitting soundly on the couch under his dad's arm, flipping through pages of a picture book with a pacifier in his mouth.
"My son just be minding his business, as he should." Samiron said. Sani was a quiet kid for the most part, unless he got around his cousins with energy. But he definitely had Samiron's mug down pact. And if he didn't know someone, he wouldn't interact with them unless he saw his parents or cousins interact with them first.
"Luckily I'm not having kids anytime soon. Y'alls demon seeds are enough for me." Aijah leaned back in the arm chair.
"Call my daughter a demon seed and see if I don't rip that wig clean off that big ass head of yours." Duck warned.
Aijah flipped her 32" crimped orange hair over both shoulders. "I use strong glue! It's gonna take more than a few pulls to get this off my head, period." Rell glanced over at her but looked away discreetly. Even though it was obvious that they were officially done with each other, Rell wasn't gonna lie to himself and say that Aijah didn't look fine with that burnt orange hair in her head.
"That's fine. We just gon' tie your hair into a ponytail, attach the ponytail to a doorknob with some string, and slam the door shut." Eli explained calculatedly. Samiron, Duck, Rell and Zion fell out laughing.
"That nigga definitely had that planned." Zion said, trying to catch his breath.
"You don't even needa do all that. Just slam her head into something and the wig gon' come loose. Remember when you did that to ole girl in highschool, Aijah?" Duck chuckled and adjusted Zari on his lap.

Eli snapped his fingers, "I remember that! She slammed ole girl's head into the locker and her wig flew off." He bussed out laughing along with everyone else.
"AJ do seem like she was the type of girl to always be in fights in highschool." Samiron added.
"She sholl was."
"Yea I definitely was, but I regret it. My ass was suspended every few weeks." She shook her head.
"Why do you regret it? You gave us free entertainment." Eli said, earning a glare from Aijah.
The front door opened and Mari walked in looking every bit of exhausted. Sani turned his head towards the door and he immediately squirmed in his seat, trying to get up.
"Mama! Mama!" He beamed, the pacifier falling out of his mouth, as everyone in the living room chuckled.
"She's coming boy, calm yo ass down." Samiron laughed. Mari took off her Smoke Rise Varsity Jacket and threw it over the chair by the door before making her way to the living room, still wearing a long sleeve black bodysuit and her black and white low top Chanel trainers.
She said hi to everyone and gave them side hugs before going over and kissing Samiron on the cheek. He would've said something about her sad excuse of a kiss but his eyes were too busy lingering on her figure and how good she looked in the skin tight bodysuit.
"Mamaaa!" Sani happily stood up on the couch with the help of Samiron and held his arms up. Mari smiled and scooped him into her arms, kissing his cheek over and over.
"Hi momma's little boy." She cooed and he snuggled into her neck. Samiron pulled Mari down to sit next to him on the couch while she held Sani in her arms.
"He's such a momma's boy." Zion chuckled and Samiron threw his hands up. "Shit, who you tellin'?"
"Sholl is, and what about it?" Mari bucked.
"Don't get bucky Mari! We were just talking about tying Aijah's wig to the door knob— you can join her." Zion said, making the boys start laughing again.
"Tell 'em stop playin' with us, Mari." Aijah rolled her eyes.
"This wig is definitely not coming off! Ask Samiron." Mari rolled her neck playfully while Aijah fell out laughing.
"Nasty asses." Zion said while Eli shook his head.
"Asssss!" Zari dragged from the couch. Cee fell out laughing because she knew she wasn't supposed to be using that word.
"Don't say that Zari! You momma gon' kill me." Duck scolded her and she giggled. "And you over there laughing, Cee. Ain't nothin' funny." Zion added which only made Cee laugh even more.

Mari chuckled before averting her attention to Sani who had slid off of her lap. He walked over to the coffee table and got the picture book Samiron was reading him. He walked back to the couch and his parents helped him back up.
"We just read this book, lil' nigga." Samiron looked down at Sani who didn't have a care in the world. He got comfortable on the couch between his parents and placed the book on Mari's lap.
"Oh you want her to read it again huh? That's how you feel?" Samiron asked his son who nodded and smiled cluelessly. Rell and Eli couldn't help but laugh from the other couch at Samiron who was acting hurt.
"If my baby wants his momma to read the book then that's what I'll do." Mari shrugged and opened the book. Sani pulled the book off of her lap before she could even flip to the first page and placed it on his lap. He took Samiron's hand and put it on the left side of the book while Mari held the right.
"Smart lil' nigga." Eli laughed.
The living room broke off into their own convos while Samiron and Mari still held the book open with Sani in between them. They didn't even have to read anything because he'd just point to a picture on the page and say hm? before gesturing for his parents to flip to the next page.
Their reading session was interrupted by knocking at the door. Samiron looked towards the large kitchen where Duck was, expecting him to open the door since he was the closest.
"You not gon' get that?" Rell yelled at Duck, hearing more knocking at the door.
"Nope!"
"Lazy ass." Samiron mumbled and carefully got off the couch despite Sani's whining. He leaned down and kissed his small head before making his way out of the living room and to the foyer.
Once he opened the door, he was utterly surprised to see who was standing in front of him.
"Are you Samiron Davis?" The white man who Samiron recognized as lieutenant Maison Gregory asked. He had three other police officers standing behind him.
Duck perked his head out of the kitchen and the conversation in the living room died when Eli, Zion and Rell recognized who was at the door.
"Yea, why?" Samiron furrowed his eyebrows. The adults in the living room congregated to the archway of the foyer to watch the interaction. Mari felt her heart drop as she watched Samiron stand in front of the police officers.
Lieutenant Gregory unclipped the cuffs from his belt, "Samiron Davis you are under arrest for the murder of Jonah Dealith." He began reading off his Miranda Rights.
"Aye, y'all got it messed up." Duck was the first to protest but one of the other officers backed him up. Damn near everyone was arguing with the officers in no time and Aijah rushed back into the living room to tend to the three crying children.
"No, he didn't do it!" Mari pushed one of the officers who was standing in front of her with his arms out, out of her way. The office retaliated by taking her hand and pushing it away from him and blocking her view to Samiron who was being cuffed against the wall.
"On god if y'all lay a finger on her I'm gonna give y'all a real reason to put me in that cell. Don't fucking touch her." Samiron warned with his arms strained behind his back. He didn't care if they man handled him, his concern was making sure none of the cops harmed a hair on her head.
"Is that a threat?" Lieutenant Gregory gritted through his teeth, holding Samirons arms tightly behind his back in the metal cuffs.
"It definitely is and I don't give a fuck. If y'all touch her or even breathe the same air within 3 feet of her I'm raising hell." He warned.
"Man, let him go on some real shit!" Samiron heard Rell argue with one of the police officers.
When the lieutenant finally pulled him away from the wall, Samiron was finally able to get a good look at everyone. "Call Terris." He told them and Eli pulled his phone out instantly.
"Don't tell them shit!" Duck told Samiron who nodded and turned his attention towards Mari who was crying. Lieutenant Gregory was too busy instructing one of the other officers so Samiron took his opportunity to talk to Mari.
"I love you. I'ma be back." He told her. Gregory was already pulling him back towards the front door.
"I love you more." Mari sniffed and wiped her eyes. Samiron sent her a wink before the lieutenant walked him out of the front door.

Needletongue, Carrotcake
The world isn't fair. If anything, the inherent injustice of the world is what separates it from the fiction we so adore. Luis Freighthold knew this all too well, and that was why it took a bit longer than it should have to realise when he suddenly had everything he could ever have wanted. Raised in a working-class single-father home, Luis had no other escape than fiction. Specifically, vampire stories of varying quality and genre. There was something appealing about the ability to fly, turn into shadows and become smoke. Danger. An unfamiliarity with the social world that rejected him so. Was it so wrong for him to hope for a different life? Maybe, maybe not. Either way, now he had it—a lust for blood and abilities beyond the understanding of civil man. Could you really say that he had anything left to complain about? A vampire story following an unconventional vampire boy forced to accept that maybe becoming a vampire doesn't magically solve all your problems. As a matter of fact, it might just make a whole bunch of them even worse. Regardless, Luis is prepared to try everything to live up to the vampire books he had previously gorged on. What did it matter that his vampire form had no teeth, replaced instead by a long, needle-tipped tongue? He was still a vampire, wasn't he? Chapters are around 10 A4 pages long, releasing once a week on Mondays, 01:00 CET.
