"AMARI!"

"Yess?"

"Come get this food before you leave!" My momma shouted from downstairs.

"Ight!" I sighed and got off my bed. I closed my room door behind me and walked down the stairs. I came to visit my parents since I haven't been over here in a while 'cause I've been busy settling into the house and working on getting the studio.

While I've been here, my dad spent most of my time asking if I had a nigga and my momma spent the other half of my time explaining to me why niggas ain't shit. As if I don't know. I love my parents but they ask too many questions sometimes. They're very invested in my life but I can't complain.

"You betta bring the rest of my kids next time you come over." My momma said referring to the only other people I hang around. She been treating Eli, Duck, Reece, Des and Aijah like her kids ever since highschool. She met Kali and Tasia a little after I

moved out.

She still hasn't met Samiron or Rell yet and I already know she's gonna do the most when it comes to Samiron. But me and him are just friends— who tongue each other down and cuddle occasionally— so I don't need her asking any questions that I don't have the answer to.

"Yea ima bring em momma." I chuckled, taking the container of food off the counter. I walked over to the wall adjacent to the kitchen and stared at my 8th grade graduation picture.

My dad came and stood beside me, not holding his laugh back,"You look stupid as fuck with them braces. Fuckin' train tracks on yo teeth and shit." I sucked my teeth and hit him.

"Travis watch your mouth 'round my kids!" My momma yelled from the kitchen, making my dad suck his teeth.

"But say, why don't I remember this picture?" He squinted and looked at me.

"That's 'cause you were in jail dad." I gave him a tight lipped smile and patted his shoulder twice. My mom bussed out laughing in the kitchen even though I can recall her cussing the feds out when they came and got my dad in the middle of the night.

"You actually were in jail Travis, she ain't even lie!" My dad turned around and mugged her, impatiently waiting for her to stop laughing.

"Mmcht, it wasn't even that funny Chy." My dad frowned while my momma was still dying.

"Yall crazy. Anyways, ima head out." I said, putting my shoes on and grabbing my keys off the table.

"Don't be a stranger li' girl." My dad hugged me and smiled. I jogged back up the stairs to say bye to Layva.

I walked into her room and found her on laying on her bed, scrolling through tiktok. "Bye Lay, i'm leaving."

"Already? Damn." She mumbled with an attitude and I chuckled.

"Yea 'already', it's 9 and i'm tired and I got appointments tomorrow morning." I told her and she sighed. I hate leaving Layva just as much as she hates not spending time with me. But between my busy schedule and her having school, I barely get to see her as much as I want to.

"Ima come pick you up this weekend and you can stay with me." I bargained. Her eyes lit up and she quickly nodded without hesitation. I gave her a hug and waved to my parents one more time before leaving.

I walked down the long driveway and unlocked my Benz. As soon as I started backing out of my parent's house my phone vibrated in the cup holder.

"Where you at?" Samiron said as soon as I answered his FaceTime call.

"What happened to hi?" I looked down at the phone in my lap. Samiron just stared at the screen blankly.

"We gotta work on yo respect dawg." I mumbled, shaking my head. "Mmcht, whatever. But where you at forreal?"

"I just left my parent's house and i'm on my way home."

"Fuck going home, come over. A nigga bored." He said and I watched as he got up off the bed.

"Unless you're offering me some Chick Fil A, i'm not coming." I said and gave him a tight lipped smile. I been craving Chick Fil A all day. Don't get me wrong my momma know how to cook and shit, but nobody wants to eat spaghetti every time they come over.

"Tuh, you're funny." Samiron chuckled and put his phone down on the bed. He walked off the screen and came back putting a hoodie on.

"I'm not playing. I want some Chick Fil A. I'm starving right now."

"I'm not playin either, i'm not buying you shit. Starve." With that he hung up and I shook my head, turning on my music. Five minutes later I got a notification and looked back down at my phone.

These bitches always want somethin' from me

It's way different every time it's me and you

You loved me when I was bummy, now I got money

Baby, let me freeze you

I said, "Get your pretty ass right here, 'cause I miss you" Get up in your bag, ass fat, Gucci swimsuit"

"Know you got it bad when you're stuck in the house and you keep on thinkin' how these other niggas did you." I passionately sung the lyrics and stopped at a red light. An old white woman sitting in the car to the left of me looked at me disgustedly.

I know Betty Crocker isn't trynna start some shit at this lil' red light.

I cocked my head to the side and stared back. She shook her head and drove off as soon as the light turned green. Ole scary ass.

About 20 minutes later I got to Samiron's house and got out of the car, grabbing my keys, phone and gun out the console. I always bring my gun when i'm with my dad cause if I don't have it that man is gonna go off on me and I don't have time for it. I'll really pull the 'absent father' card in every argument too.

I walked up to the door and knocked a few times. Samiron finally opened the door wearing a black hoodie, black joggers, and some black Gucci slides.

I'll eat that dick up right n-

"Are you gonna keep staring or you gon' say sum?" I looked up at him and smiled, wrapping my arms around his torso rocking us side to side. He chuckled and wrapped his arms around my waist, slowly moving his hands down to my ass and grabbing it.

"You missed me?" I looked up at him cheesing and he rolled his eyes.

"I just seen you the day before yesterday. Slow ass." He mumbled the last part and I sucked my teeth. He pulled me into the house closing the door behind me, with my hands still around his waist.

"You didn't answer my question nigga." I said as we walked up the stairs and into his room.

Samiron sucked his teeth, "Yea I missed you. Got used to havin' yo annoying ass around." I hit him and he laughed. We walked into his unnecessarily large room and Samiron got on the bed and laid on his stomach. I took my slides off and put my keys and phone on the nightstand. As soon as he saw me take the gun out of my pants he snapped his head towards me, furrowing his eyebrows.

"You came here to kill a nigga or sum?" He pinched his eyebrows together and I couldn't help but laugh.

"I just came back from my parents house. I told you I always carry it when i'm around my dad." I said in an obvious tone and he chuckled.

"You know how to aim well?" I nodded and he sucked his teeth. "Nah Ion believe you. I gotta see for myself." He said and I shrugged.

"Whatchu want me to do? Shoot you right now?" I said sarcastically, making him scrunch his face up at me.

"Tuh, I wish you would shoot me. I'll make sure the next time yo parents see you is your funeral." He mumbled and I shook his head. So fucking violent.

"You do look good holding that gun tho." He smiled, licking his bottom lip. I rolled my eyes playfully, putting the gun on the nightstand.

"Nigga please! Where my food at though?" I smiled and he rolled his eyes, pointing to the Chick Fil A bag behind me. I grabbed the bag and sat on the bed next to him cheesing.

"I never seen no one get this excited over some food bro." He shook his head while I started eating. He put one hand in his shirt, rubbing his stomach and one arm over his eyes. Nigga really called me over here to sleep.

"How was your parents house?" He asked. I paused and looked at him to see if he was serious cause since when does he give a fuck?

"It was coo." I shrugged and he took his arm off his eyes and squinted at me.

"Whatchu mean 'coo'?"

I sighed looking at him blankly, "Ion know foreal. it's been two years since Bri'on died and every time I go over there it feels weird not seeing him there too."

I put my trash back into the bag and put it on the floor. "I even sleep in his bed every time I go and spend the night over there."

Samiron stared at me for a second and I instantly looked away. I hate when he does that shit. Those brown eyes will literally pierce through your soul.

"I get it." He finally broke his silence. "I used sleep in my momma bed with the twins after she died." He chuckled, "My pops was sleeping in my bed for 2 weeks 'cause we were taking up his bed. That nigga was mad as fuckk." Samiron laughed.

"Off no bullshit, your dad scares me." I scratched the back of my neck and Samiron chuckled.

"Mmcht that nigga isn't scary. He just mugs everyone for no reason." He shrugged. Sounds familiar.

"That sounds familiar.." I tilted my head towards Samiron and he rolled his eyes.

"Whatever bro. C 'mere." He said, the raspiness of his voice evident. I looked at him like he was stupid since we were both already sitting right next to each other.

"You know what I mean don't act dumb." He said sternly and I threw my hands up. I scooted towards him, leaning my back against the headboard while Samiron laid his head on my chest.

"You took yo pills today?" I asked putting my arm over his neck and rubbing his chin softly.

"Shorty you called me and made me take 'em on FaceTime.." He looked up at me like I was dumb.

"Oh damn- I forgot." I laughed and he shook his head.

"Stop laughing and go to sleep Mari." He said while rubbing my stomach underneath my shirt.

"Fuck you rubbing my stomach for? There's no baby in there." I mumbled the last part and he chuckled.

"I would put one in there right now but nah. Not yet." He laughed and my eyes widened.

"Um HARD pass. FTK for life."

"I'm just playin'. I don't want kids right now." He looked at me licking his bottom lip. I nodded slowly.

"Me either."

"That doesn't mean we can't practice." He looked back up at me smiling and showing his dimples. I looked away embarrassed and he laughed. "I'm playin' shorty. Yeen ready for all that." He smirked and I mugged him.

"Don't tell me what I am or am not ready for, goofy nigga." I smacked his shoulder.

"So if I tell you to bend over right now?" He stopped rubbing my stomach, waiting for me to respond but I didn't say anything.

"Exactly." He chuckled.

"Maybe if you ask nicely." I said sarcastically and he laughed.

"How many bodies you got?" I asked out of curiosity 'cause I actually wanted to know. And I totally wasn't trying to change the subject or anything.

"Killing? Like 15-20ish give or take." He said naturally and I sucked my teeth. Can't even say I'm surprised.

"I- um that's not what I meant." I mentally palmed my face.

"Oh." He laughed."But nah like five maybe. Six at most." I nodded, trying to act like I wasn't surprised. Just by looking at Samiron and how fine he is and how many females basically throw themselves at him on a daily, you'd think his body count would he higher.

"What 'bout you?"

"1." I replied and he nodded. "Who?"

"You're being real nosy right now." I said, raising my eyebrows. "You asked the question first slow ass li' girl." I rolled my eyes.

"Messiah." He nodded, slightly rolling his eyes thinking I didn't see him. Jealous ass.

"How many people you fucked with? Like relationships."

"Messiah, and this boy named TK I was talking to last year." I rolled my eyes mentally at the mention of TK's name and Samiron nodded.

"And both of those muthafuckas cheated on me." I mumbled more-so to myself. Samiron turned around to look at me.

"I don't understand people who cheat. Like if you want someone else while you're in a relationship than just break up with the person your with. But nah, niggas be wanting the best of both worlds like

they're Hannah Montana and shit. Then they get mad and start making excuses when they get caught up." I ranted and Samiron bussed out laughing.

"Not Hannah Montana. You're hilarious yo." He dragged trying to catch his breath.

"I know i'm hilarious but i'm being dead serious right now." I looked at him blankly and he playfully rolled his eyes.

"Nah I get you, that shit is fucked."

"You seem like the type of nigga to cheat." I told him bluntly. He does seem like that type of nigga. He's just so careless and impulsive.

"Nah. I won't cheat but i'm definitely not gonna trip over you after we break up unless I was really serious 'bout you. So if we break up on Monday and you see me at the sto' with another bitch on Friday don't say shit to me. Just get yo groceries and go about your business." He shrugged while I tried to hold in my laugh.

"You ain't shit." I shook my head.

"I am. I just never been with someone i'm actually serious 'bout. Bitches are either childish and petty or they're too focused on trynna achieve a social media-worthy relationship.. just goofy shit."

"Well, it's a good thing i'm not a bitch then." I shrugged. Cause yeen talkin' to me.

He chuckled and put his head back in the crook of my neck, "Heard you. I wasn't talking 'bout you though. You're different then those hoes." I chuckled and got on my phone before I started feeling soft kisses on my neck.

"Really?" I asked irritably, putting my phone faced down on my lap. He knows I can't think straight as soon as I feel his lips anywhere on my body.

"Just go to sleep, baby." He said in his lil' raspy voice, leaving a few more kisses on my neck.

My phone rang and I woke up rubbing my eyes. I reached over to pick it up, being careful not to wake up Mari who was asleep under me with my arm wrapped around her waist. I don't even be payin' attention to what I do when i'm asleep but whenever she's sleeping next to me I just have an urge to touch her through the night, just to make sure she's still there or sum.

I picked the phone up and checked the time before reading the caller ID.

"Finally you answered, the fuck." Rell grumbled as soon as I picked up.

"Nigga what do you want? I was asleep obviously."

"We got Syeed, come to the trap. And hurry up." He quickly said and hung up, not giving me a chance to respond.

I sucked my teeth and got up to go to the bathroom. I did everything I needed to do before putting on some black Amiri jeans, a black Givenchy hoodie, and some black metallic 5's. I walked back into my room and got my gun off the nightstand, tucking it in my pants. I turned around and seen Mari was slowly

starting to wake up.

"Where you goin' nigga?" She asked lowly, rubbing her eyes.

"I got sum to take care of real quick." She rolled her eyes and got back under the covers. I sighed, thankful that she wasn't asking any questions.

"Please don't do no dumb shit and get yourself hurt Samiron." She said sternly and I chuckled.

"Mane calm yo ass down." I shook my head, putting my phone in my pocket. I understood why she was concerned. She lost her brother, uncles, and almost lost her dad to this street shit so she has a right to be worried.

"Give me a hug or sum." I chuckled and walked over to the her. She stood on her knees on the bed and hugged my torso while I wrapped my arms around her small waist.

"You're actin' like a nigga not gon' be back in an hour." I laughed and she sucked her teeth.

"I'm just playin though. Go back to sleep foreal." I kissed her forehead before pulling away and she smiled. A big ass baby.

I got my keys off the nightstand and switched the light off before walking down the stairs and out of the house.

One thing I admire 'bout Mari is that she always make sure the people 'round her are straight. I'm not used to that. Where I grew up, the only people that actually gave a fuck bout you were your parents, siblings, and your closest friends, and even they're not always solid.

That's why it took me so long to trust Mari Even now, i'm not sure if I fully trust her or not. After all the shit I been through, I stopped trusting people who were new around me and I didn't even bother giving them a chance.
