I dropped to the ground, feeling the burning sensation run through my leg. I felt the bottom of my left leg burn as I heard tires screech and a car drive off. Duck, Eli and Mir ran over to me while Tasia tried to help me sit still which was hard when I could literally feel the hot metal bullet moving around in my leg.
"Fuck, Fuck, Fuck!" I groaned, feeling blood trickle down my leg.
Duck told Mir to call 911 and he took his phone out and did that. Duck took his shirt off leaving him in just a wife beater and wrapped it around my leg to help slow the bleeding.
"It hurts so fucking bad D." I gripped his wrist.
"I know, just keep taking deep breaths Mari, and try not to move." He instructed.
Eli stared at me with a concerned look on his face before his eyes landed on the gun in my hand, prompting him to furrow his eyebrows in confusion.
"Wait Mar-"
"No Eli, she didn't shoot herself you dumb fuck." Tasia cut him off.
"You got them niggas huh Mari?" Eli joked. I couldn't even bring myself to laugh or smile like I usually do at Eli's jokes, my focus was on the burning sensation I was feeling in my leg. I just looked at him and nodded, biting my bottom lip to stop me from screaming in pain.
"Wait she got 'em forreal?" Duck asked Tasia. "She hit one of them in the shoulder I think and broke a window or sum."
"Purr." Eli dragged, making all of them bussed out laughing.
A few minutes later the ambulance finally pulled in front of my apartment building. The paramedics rushed over and helped me into the ambulance, instructing me to take deep breaths to distract me from the pain that I was in.

We all sat in the waiting room restlessly while we waited for Mari to get out of surgery. Duck had called Mari's momma to tell her what happened. She started panicking and was getting ready to drive down to the hospital but Duck convinced her that everything was coo and she should stay with Layva until they hear any news.

The doctor came out about an hour later and announced to us that they had removed the bullet. He told us that there wasn't a lot of damage or bleeding but she should stay off her foot in order for it to heal properly.
I got tired of sitting in that depressing ass waiting room so I got up and walked to the bathroom. As I was walking to the bathroom I passed by Mari's room and saw a few doctors walking out.
I stood in front of them confused, "She's fine, just lightly sedated, but you can go in and see her now." One of the doctor's smiled at me. I nodded and
waited for her to walk off before walking into Mari's room. She was laying on the bed with a cast wrapped around her leg, staring into space.
"Waddup." I spoke, getting her attention.
"Hey."
"You good?" I asked, walking towards her bed. "Mhm."
"It don't hurt or nun?"
"Naw, I can barely feel my leg right now. Im sure it's gonna hurt like a bitch later when the drugs wear off." She said and I chuckled. The room fell into an awkward silence so I nodded and was about to make my way to the door before she grabbed my arm.
"Can you stay with me?" She asked looking up at me through her thick lashes.
"You sure you don't want me to bring Duck or Eli?" I asked, kinda regretting it after I said it. Knowing Mari she's gonna think I wanna bring Eli 'nem in here 'cause I don't wanna be alone with her, which isn't the case. She's just way more comfortable with Eli and Duck. and she loves to ask a whole bunch of questions.
She dropped her shoulders in defeat before shrugging and letting go of my arm, laying back in the bed. I exhaled sharply and sat down on the chair next to her bed. I could tell by her raised eyebrows that she wasn't expecting me to actually stay.
"So you shot them niggas back huh?" I asked, initiating the conversation.
She chuckled and shrugged. "I hit em?"
"Ion know, Tasia said you shot one in the shoulder and broke a window or sum."

"Tuh, call me shooter Mari then." She popped her invisible collar, making me laugh.
"I thought you said you don't carry the gun on you unless you witcho dad?" I asked curiously.
"Yea, but when I walked back into the apartment with Tasia to get her charger, I remembered it was in my nightstand and something was telling me to bring it with me so I did." She shrugged and I
nodded slowly.
"Yo dad taught you how to shoot?"
"Nah, at first Bri'on did, but it was real ghetto. We would just shoot at trees and shit." She chuckled, "But when my dad actually gave me my gun after B died, we started going to the range, even though I didn't like it." She explained.
The room fell into an awkward silence again. The only sounds that could be heard were the nurses outside in the hallway and the machines in the room. I actually don't know why she even asked me to be in here with her. It's always awkward 'cause we don't be having shit to talk about.
"My hair prolly fucked up right now." She randomly said.
Ole girl just got shot in the leg and she's thinking about her frontal?
I stared at her for a second and when she met my eyes she broke eye contact almost immediately and stared at the door in front of her. I chuckled at how flustered she was.
"Nah, you good." I told her and she nodded, looking around at everything but me.
"You think you know why them niggas shot you ..?" I squinted my eyes at her. It was genuinely confusing to me cause she's not into allat street shit like me, Duck, Eli, Rell, and Soovy are so ion understand why someone would target her specifically. It just doesn't make sense.
"Ion know, maybe it's one of the bitches that I fought' brother or something. I honestly don't know."
"Which bitch?" I asked sarcastically and she bussed out laughing.
She's cute when she laughs and shit, but I wasn't joking 'cause shorty fought like 4 people in the last month and a half..
Before she could respond the door opened and Rell and Aijah walked in. "Mariii." Aijah dragged, walking over to the other side of her bed and giving her a hug. Rell dapped me up and push Aijah out the way to give Mari a side hug.
"Damn bae, they done shot yo ass huh?" He said, making Mari suck her teeth and flip him off.
"Don't call my sister bae, the fuck nigga." Eli said, walking through the door with Duck and Tasia.
The three of them checked on Mari, with Duck's overprotective ass going overboard and asking her if she was okay every five minutes.
"Ian even know you could shoot like that Mari." Eli got comfortable on the couch.
"Holluppp! Mari was shooting?" Rell furrowed his eyebrows and tilted his head as he stood at the end of her bed. Me, Duck, and Eli all nodded in response.
"Shidd, ian know my bitch could shoot." Rell smirked and Mari rolled her eyes.
"Keep calling me your bitch and I might just shoot you next." Rell put his hands up in defense.
"Bae I want a gun now." Tasia told Duck while she poked her bottom lip out. "Gir- the fuck? Why?"
"Cause y'all were all shooting and shit.. I felt left out." Tasia huffed and Duck just shook his head at her.
"Damn I wish Kali was here." Aijah said, making Mari nod. "I miss my bitch."
"Shit me too. Not for the same reason y'all want her here tho." Eli smirked while looking down at his phone.
"This nigga.." I mumbled.
"Y'all standing around my bed and shit like a bitch just died or something." Mari scrunched her face up making Rell, Duck, Aijah and Tasia take a few steps away from her bed. I just sat in my chair and watched them 'cause I wasn't moving.
Eventually all of us broke into our own conversations while Eli got up to go to the vending machine for the tenth time since we've been in this hospital. He walked back into the room and slammed the door, making everyone turn and look at him crazy.
"Mari, you not gon' believe who's here." He sighed.
"Who?" She furrowed her eyebrows.
