《Married By Chance》Chapter 8: It's time for me to party!

Amelia and Adam's dining room above.

"Smith."

It's Thursday morning and Adam and I are having breakfast together. There's a fried egg, sausages, two pancakes and a muffin on his plate while mine has a pile of sweetened pancakes with way too much maple syrup.

I look at him questionably as he just said my name. My last name but whatever.

"Why aren't you eating?" He asks, studying me.

I frown. "I don't like it." It's too sweet. I don't know why the chef made them like this.

"The doctor said you should be having some sugar so that your blood sugar can get back to normal."

"It is."

"No, it isn't." He argues.

I pout harder and push the plate away.

"Eat." He commands sternly and I raise an eyebrow. Why is he talking to me like that?

"I don't want to." I retort.

He bites his lips in frustration and closes his eyes. "Eat your food, Smith."

"No, I won't and you can't force me!"

Who does he think he is? He can't just tell me what to do.

He sighs, irritably. "Stop being a child and eat the God damn food."

Gosh! There he goes with the bossy tone again!

"No!" I stand up, take the plate and throw everything in the nearest bin.

"Are you out of your fucking mind?" Adam shouts, standing up from his chair.

I glare at him, my nostrils flaring in anger.

"Do you know what you just did? Do you have any idea how many kids are starving out there? Do you know that there are people who struggle so hard before they get to eat?"

I don't say anything. I just keep glaring at him.

He shakes his head. "Of course you don't. You don't appreciate what you have because you don't know how fucking lucky you are."

I roll my eyes. "Whatever."

He steps closer, his eyes angrily staring into mine. "Don't ever do that again. Not in my house." He says and walks past me.

I thought this is my house too. I huff angrily then look down at the bin.

Okay, what I did was horrible.

I let out a soft sigh and grab my car keys.

Throwing that food in the trash is making me feel like shit. I've never done anything like that. I was raised with manners. Old fucking money manners. I respect food and all the mannerisms that comes with it.

My four grandparents all came from rich families. Money has been in my family for over two hundred years but that has never given me a reason to be unpleasant in anyway.

"How, what, why, when and where. Those are things that you all have to consider in the concept of marketing. Also customer satisfaction, customer value....."

I keep typing on my laptop as I listen to Dr Bill in this boring class. Business happens to be my worst course ever and unfortunately I can't drop the class. My dad would kill me.

I look at the girl beside me who doesn't seem to be interested as well. Her raven hair is in a short bob. Her clothes, all black. Everything about her screams goth. Her face though is soft. She's wearing zero makeup.

"Boring, isn't it?" I whisper.

She looks at me with widened eyes then she frowns. "I'm on scholarship."

My eyebrows come together in confusion. So? Is she trying to tell me that she's smart?

Gah!

"Cool." I mutter. "What's your major?"

She sighs. "I said I'm on scholarship!" She says a bit louder this time.

What the?

"I heard you the first time though I don't get why you're telling me."

She rolls her eyes. "I know about you, Amelia Smith. You're like on every freaking billboard. One of the most paid supermodels in the world and your dad is in Forbes 100 richest men in the world."

"Uhuh?" I ask, still feeling confused.

She runs her fingers through her hair. "What I'm trying to say is that my parents can't afford this expensive fucking university. I'm not rich."

I shake my head and laugh. "You're not making any sense to me right now. What's with all this information?"

"Oh, come on! I know about your elite group of friends. You only hang out with rich people. People like Tyler Williams," She sighs. "That fucking jerk."

"Did Tyler do something to offend you?" I frown.

"No."

"Then don't call him a jerk. He's my friend." I defend.

She shrugs and leans back in her seat. "Whatever."

Gosh! She's so annoying. Why did I even speak to her? "And what you said it's not true. I don't hang out with rich people only." I snap.

The class ends twenty minutes later. It's the my last class of the day. Thank God!

I can't wait to go back to the house and rest but Tyler dragged all of us to eat Pizza at the university's Papa Johns.

"We don't hang out like this anymore." Jacob says.

"That's because all of you are in your final year. You're all so busy." Emily says.

Jacob, Tyler, Nicole, Camilla and Jasmine are all graduating this session while Emily and I have one more year cause unlike most courses with four years, Architecture is a five year course.

"Not really." Tyler shrugs.

"It just kind of feels like something is missing." Jasmine frowns.

"Something is missing." I confirm.

"Oh my God!" Chloe closes her eyes. "I thought you were over him. I thought she was over him." She looks at everyone in disbelief.

"Oh come on! It can't happen that fast. Unless her therapist has magic powers." Camilla jokes.

"I'm never going to stop loving Liam." I deadpan. They are honestly wasting their time, thinking that I'm somehow going to get over Liam Black.

Jasmine looks at me with genuine concern in her eyes. "Amelia, I thought we've talked about this. Isn't it why you joined therapy in the first place? You said you wanted to be happy."

"I do but being happy doesn't mean that I have to get over Liam." I reply, taking a salt shaker and add some on pizza.

"Yes, it does. The only way to be happy is to let go and move forward." Nicole says.

"Since when did you become an expert on breakup and love?" I ask her. I mean, I was madly surprised by things that she said when she came over the last time.

"Single people give the best advice, Milly. Whether you like it or not." Tyler winks at me.

"Whatever, guys. Enough about me. How are you two love birds doing?" I ask Jacob and Chloe with a smile.

Her eyes widen and she starts fake coughing. "I can't," cough, "talk right now," cough, "I need some tea. You know us British," She stands up taking her phone and Dior handbag. "We gotta have tea." She says and sprints off.

Okay, that is so fucking weird.

We all stay silent. Some of us have our eyes widened, some are gaping like apes at what just happened but Jacob, Jacob fucking Williams has a knowing smirk on his face.

"I can't believe you bought all these stuff." Nicole says as we go through what to wear in my closet.

Our whole group decided to go out clubbing tonight. After school, Nicole came home with me after I begged her to while everyone else had things to do. I hate how lonely this house feels so I love having people over.

"It's a lot, right?"

She looks at me. "No! This is amazing! Wow! I could be in this closet forever."

"No way! You have so much cooler clothes than I do." I remind her.

"What?! You're a freaking supermodel, Amelia. Designers send you clothes, shoes, bags and makeup all the time. Yes, I do get some endorsement deals there and then but it's nothing compared to this heaven." She says, her eyes going around the closet.

"Well, I kind of get more clothes since I got married to Adam. Like this side," I lead her to the end of my closet, "these were all sent by Louis Vuitton. I never got this much LV when I lived with my parents."

"You lucky bitch! I want an Adam!" She exclaims.

I chuckle as I go through the LV wardrobe, looking for what to wear. "You can have him."

"No, you two are perfect."

I fake gag at what she said and close the wardrobe. "I can't find anything here."

"What do you think?" She pulls out a short black and red dress and presses it to her body.

I've never worn the dress because it's not really my style. "I don't like that." I pout.

"Oh! It's for me." She smiles.

It would probably look good on her. She's so beautiful, she looks good in everything.

"Try it on." I say.

"Let's shower first. I've been dying to shower in your magnificent bathroom."

"Okay then."

We go back into my bedroom and Nicole heads into the bathroom.

I sigh and lay in my bed. I haven't gone clubbing in ages so I'm kind of excited to go out tonight. I hope that my friends and I have a great time and that nobody brings up Liam.

After Nicole comes out of the bathroom, I quickly go in and take my shower. After I'm done, I dry my hair and join her in my closet.

She's still wearing her robe, sitting on a chair, searching for shoes so I take one and also sit.

"So the thing that's been going on with Chloe and Jacob," She pauses and uncrosses her legs, "what do you think?"

"I know that Jacob is in love for sure."

"Yeah." She mumbles and pushes a strand of hair behind her ear.

My eyes widen. "Oh my God! Does that make you uncomfortable?"

She raises her eyes. "What? Why?"

"Well, I know that you and Jacob used to have a thing."

"What?" She yells. "I never had a thing for Jacob."

"You guys liked each other in high school." I point out with a shrug.

"Oh my God! That was Tyler! What's wrong with you?" She laughs.

"I thought it was Jacob." I also laugh.

"No!" She says horrifyingly.

"Oh."

"So what do you think?" She asks again

I give her a shrug. "Well, like a said, Jacob is in love. He told me he liked her on Liam's birthday which was almost a year ago but Chloe, she's never been in a serious relationship since we met her."

"Yeah, she's always like 'what happens if I go back to London?'" Nicole says the last part in a British accent.

I chuckle. "Yes but I've never seen her act the way she does around Jacob. She gets so flustered and looses her cool."

"Like you with Adam?" She smirks.

I close my eyes. "Don't even start."

****

"ID please."

"Thank God, we're twenty one. We don't have to keep on using fake ids." Nicole whispers.

"Yeah." I chuckle as we collect back our IDs and go into the night club.

So Nicole settled for the brown dress she chose earlier which looks gorgeous on her and I'm wearing a black Versace dress paired with gold Dolce and Gabbana heels. I was worried that our outfits might be to dressy but she said that this is a very fancy club so I guess we're okay.

"Is your hot bodyguard here with us?"

I raise an eyebrow. "Cooper?"

Nicole nods in reply. "Yeah, the guy that kidnapped you. That's him right?"

Okay. This is getting weird. "Yes and?"

She shrugs and looks around. "Nothing. I just think he's really hot."

"I guess."

"So is he coming?"

God!

"I don't know, Nicole. He's a shadow bodyguard I don't know when he's following me or when he isn't."

"Cool. There they are!" She waves her hand up in the air.

I spot Tyler, Jas, Camilla and Emily and we start walking towards them. The club is not that much crowded. They are sitting in the VIP section, all laughing as they hold their drinks.

There's a short staircase to where they are sitting so Nicole and I climb over and join them. "Hey, guys!"

"There's my favourite girl." Tyler grins and comes over to kiss my cheek.

"Hi, Ty." I kiss his also.

I hug Jasmine, Camilla and Emily then take a seat. "Where are Chloe and Jacob?" I ask.

"Jacob is on the dance floor." Jas replies.

"And Chloe?"

"At Hardwood. She has an 'assignment'." She air quotes and I chuckle.

"Where's Colton, Em?"

She ignores me and tries to pick up a conversation with Camilla. I guess they're still fighting. I have to do something about that but now is not the time.

It's time for me to party!

I go down the stairs and head to the bar. I sit on a stool beside a guy wearing a black leather jacket, black jeans and bicker boots. His body is resting against the bar table and his head is turned to the other side so I can't see his face.

"What would like to order, Miss?" The bartender asks me.

"A 7up, please."

The guy next to me snickers but I ignore him.

"A 7up coming right away." The bartender smiles and leaves.

"I'm more of a Sprite guy." The guy sitting next to me speaks again and I roll my eyes.

Lame.

He raises his body and turns to face me and my mouth literally goes dry. He is fo fucking handsome. Long goldenhair and some kind of nice yellowish green eyes. He has a well defined jaw and a pointed nose.

I notice him checking me out as well as I take my mind of his handsomeness.

"So what's your story, rich girl?" He asks with a smile in a hot country accent.

I raise an eyebrow. "Rich girl?"

"Yah. The way you're sitting, how your hair is glowing, your smell. It all fucking gives."

"No, it doesn't." I argue.

"Fine. How about the diamond earrings? The Versace dress? The Rolex on your wrist or," he pauses and a smirk grows on his face, "the twenty five million dollar ring on your finger."

My jaw drops. "Who are you?"

He smiles. "Ethan Ray, at your service."

"How do you know the price of my ring?" I frown, suddenly feeling suspicious of him.

He wasn't wrong. When Liam proposed, I thought he had gone over the top by giving me a two million dollar engagement ring but Adam surprised me with a fucking twenty five million dollar Cartier wedding ring.

"I used to work as a diamond cutter and that really got me into jewellery and I became obsessed. Your ring is one of a kind. It's a Cartier limited edition and I go onto their website a lot. It's not something that you could miss." Ethan explains with a shrug at the end.

"Oh." I mumble.

What a relief! The last thing I need is some creepy guy stalking me. I know that it's not like he's ever going to tell me if he's a stalker but nothing about the way he was talking seemed like a lie.

"Yeah." Ethan chuckles. "It's a nice ring by the way. Lucky you."

"Thank you." I smile.

"So do you have a name?" He asks, crossing his arms.

"It's Amelia." I reply.

"Great name."

"Thanks. My grandmother gave it to me."

He grins. "I love my grandmother. She's a jewellery designer, also one of the reasons that I'm into jewellery."

I tilt my head. "Are you really serious about the whole jewellery thing?"

He nods, his face turning serious. "Hundred percent."

"It's crazy because I also love jewellery. Like I literally can't live without my bracelets or necklaces." I tell him.

"Really?"

Gosh! I love his accent.

"Yeah."

"It's a good thing you can afford them then." He jokes and I laugh.

If someone were to ever tell me that I would be laughing with a stranger at a bar, I wouldn't have believed them at all but here I am.

"I thought you were a creep at the beginning but you're kind of cool." I say.

"Thanks. Too bad you're married." He winks and I laugh again. "If I had a beautiful wife like you, I wouldn't allow her to go out clubbing. Your husband must be a chill guy."

"Nope, he just doesn't care." I say casually.

Ethan smiles. "Then he probably wouldn't care if I ask for your number."

I smile back at him. "I guess not."
