《Married By Chance》Chapter 6: Christian Louboutin.

Amelia's car above.
"So let's start from the beginning, how did you meet?"
I bite my lip and look down. "I've known him my whole life but we only started talking July, last year."
"Did you start dating immediately?" Dr Sloan asks.
I shake my head. "No, he was dating someone else at that time. My friend, Camilla."
She nods her head slowly.
"She wasn't my friend at that time! She and I became friends after Liam and I got together." I quickly tell her. I don't want her to think I'm dating my friend's ex since don't do it is like the number one rule of girl code.
She smiles. "I'm not here to judge you, Mrs Black."
"Amelia, please." I smile back.
"Okay, Amelia please tell me about your relationship with Liam. From the first time you spoke to the last."
I take a deep breath. "It all started with this project....."
I open up to Dr Sloan. I tell her;
How he and I began talking at a parking lot, how exchanged numbers, how we became friends, how I began liking him, about our first kiss, the time he confessed his feelings, our first date, how he asked me to be his girlfriend, how I fell in love with him, how he proposed and how it all ended.
I literally tell her everything. X, our fights, every single thing.
She doesn't say anything as I speak. Her eyes hold no sign of judgment. All she does is nod and then she gives me a tissue box when I start crying. She listens and at some point, I find her wiping a tear.
"I've never heard anything like this." She says after I finish.
"Yeah." I wipe a tear.
Not everyone ends up getting married to their boyfriend's brother.
"From what you told me, I believe you and Liam had a beautiful love story."
"We did."
"How are you feeling now?"
"Sad, angry, broken, depressed and dead."
Dr Sloan nods. "That is...."
I raise an eyebrow. "Fucked up?"
She shakes her head and chuckles. "No. What you are feeling is completely normal, Amelia."
"Then why is everyone making it seem like I'm destroying my life?!" I exclaim.
"Well, you said you wanted to die....." She answers with a frown.
"I still do."
"Why?"
"Because a life without Liam is pointless."
Nothing makes me happy anymore. Everything was so much better when he was here. I never get bored because we hang out most of the time and even times when we're not together, there's this sense of safety that I feel.
"Is that what you really think?" Dr Sloan asks sadly.
"Yes."
"How about your friends, your family and yourself?"
I frown in confusion. "Myself?"
"Yes. Is Liam all you want in life? Don't you have dreams and passions?"
I look at her and all I can think of is nothing.
Do I have any dreams?
Am I passionate about anything?
"What do you want in life, Amelia?"
"I don't know." My answer comes out as a whisper.
"Do you love yourself?"
I just give a her a shrug.
"First lesson, love yourself enough. From what you've told me, I know you're a very selfless person but I will advise you to think of yourself sometimes and what you want."
Love myself enough?
Don't I love myself?
If you did, you wouldn't want to die.
True.
"Your homework is to write down a bucket list. Sit down and think of the things you want and the things you want to do then write them down."

I look at her. "Okay."
"Also, get back out there. Do what normal twenty one year olds do. Have fun, hang out with your friends, party and take risks."
Take risks? I've never been the one that take risks. I've always think things through because I want them to be right, proper.....and perfect.
"You don't have to overthink, just do what you want to do." Dr Sloan adds.

On my home, I receive a text from Camilla saying that she and the girls are heading home.
"Tom, can you please take me to Lauren's house?"
"Yes, ma'am." He replies.
Lauren Ambrose is my cousin from my dad's side. Her mum is my father's elder sister. She's married to the love of her life and has the cutest baby boy, Sam.
When I arrive at Lauren's house, one of her maids let me in. I see her coming down the stairs, wearing a fitted white dress with a pair of gold Christian Louboutin shoes and a pearl necklace hanging around her neck.
"Are you going somewhere?"
"Hello to you too, cousin." She smiles and comes over to me.
We hug and after we break away, I take a closer look at her. She's wearing makeup but it's soft, not to much. We have the same, shape of nose but that's it. Her hair is naturally blonde and her eyes are deep green.
She got her blonde hair from her dad since her mum, Aunt Eva has dark brown hair like my dad which I inherited. Her body doesn't look like she has a son that is one and a half.
She's slender with curves in all the right places.
"Have you had lunch?" She asks and I shake my head.
"Gordon is in Manchester for some business so I've been bored to death this week. I'm glad you're here."
Gordon Ambrose, her husband is a very famous painter. His paintings are worth millions because he's very talented.
"Yeah, me too." I smile.
"You're so quite. Is something bothering you?" She ask worriedly.
"No.....yes, um I don't know." I sigh.
She grabs my hand. "We'll talk over lunch." She says and we walk to the dining table.
We sit and I take a glass of water and start gulping. "I went to see a therapist."
Her eyes widen as I speak.
"I haven't spoken about Liam in two months and today, I let everything out. It feels good but my mind is twirling with all these emotions." I add.
She tucks a hair strand behind her ear and looks at me. "Sometimes is hard to let go but when you do, you'll be much happier than you were and you might end up finding something better than what you lost."
I sigh. "I do want to let go and I want move but a part of me feels like it's a betrayal to him."
"I've been in your shoes, you know." She says and I raise an eyebrow.
"As you know, I didn't go to Hardwood like every other rich kid in the country. I went to Yale. Second week of my freshman year, I met a guy, Gabriel and we instantly connected. We had an amazing chemistry but there was one problem."
"What?"
She shakes her head. "He isn't like us. His father is a construction worker and his mum is a kindergarten teacher."
"Why is that a problem?" I frown.
"Exactly! I never cared about his family status or anything like that but he did. I loved him so much but he was so insecure. He made it a problem and-" She stops as her phone starts ringing.

"Hello." She smiles at me as she answers the call. "I'm good.....he's great, he's taking a nap.... Yeah, she's here." She winks at me.
'Who is it?' I mouth.
"No, she's not crying..... Do you want to talk to her? Is that why you called?..... I told you she's fine, Adam!" She rolls her eyes, still keeping the teasing smile on her lips.
My mouth forms a shape of 'O' as I realise who she's speaking. Adam and I haven't spoken since last night when I went to ask if the girls could sleep over. He was rude or angry for some reason.
"Here." Lauren hands me the phone and my eyes widen. "Hello."
"Hey." I hear his sexy voice and something in me melts. "You met with Sloan?" He asks.
"Yeah." I reply.
"Are you okay?" His tone is plain and emotionless.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I softly smile. I like his 'are you okay's.
"Did you cry?"
That's a new one. "Yes."
He keeps quiet and so do I because I don't what else to say. He's not a person that I can easily talk to.
"I'm on the plane, about to take off." He says after the long silence.
"Where are you going?" I ask softly.
"New York but I'm coming back tonight."
"Alright, have a nice flight."
"Yeah, bye." He hangs up.
"You two are so cute!" Lauren squeals as I give her back her phone.
"Look at you! You're blushing."
"No, I'm not." That's a lie. I can feel the heat in my cheeks. "I get so flustered when I'm talking to him. He's not like any other guy I've met."
"Yeah, Adam is different." She says with a soft smile.
"You two seem familiar."
"The Blacks are our family friends, Amelia. Even though I'm older by a year, Adam and I were in the same class in preschool and kindergarten. We've been friends forever."
"Really?" My eyes widen in surprise.
"Yeah, we lost touch when he moved to the uk but we reconnected ten years ago when I was fifteen and he was fourteen. He's an amazing friend and the reason I married the love of my life." She grins.
"I thought you and Gordon met in Rome."
"Yes, at a social event where Adam introduced us." She explains.
"Oh."
"He encouraged me to date Gordon but I kept refusing because I was still in love with Gabe. Gordon didn't give up though, he kept pushing Adam to talk to me. So one time, I was in London and Adam was there too. He called me and asked me to meet him at a restaurant. When I arrived, I saw Gordon instead. I stayed and had dinner and it turned out to be one of the best nights of my life."
"Wow."
"I want you and Adam to get together. He's such a good guy, he deserves someone like you." She reaches for my hand over the table and squeezes.
"So how did things end with Gabe?" I change the subject.
"He broke it off. I was so heartbroken. I cried for months. My grades got low, I was fucking depressed." She shakes her head.
"How did you find happiness? How did you get over him?"
She shrugs. "Easy, Gordon."
****
After I got back home- hold on, It feels weird to call Adam's house 'home' because it's not really my home. I worked on a school project on urban design. I love what I do so I never get tired of school projects.
After I was done, I took a two hour nap. I'm now in the kitchen, making a bowl of popcorn. I'm done with all my assignments so I'm so fucking bored. I enter the living room and decide to watch a movie on Netflix. I play Ibiza because I love Richard Madden. He is so hot.
Halfway through the movie, I hear footsteps behind me. I turn around and see Adam. He's wearing grey sweatpants and a black shirt.
Some strands of his hair are falling through his forehead. I don't think I've ever seen him in such comfortable clothes.
He looks so sexy. He's biceps are perfectly muscular. I try so hard every day to keep my eyes off him. He is so fucking hot and handsome. It's very disturbing.
I didn't even know that he's back from New York. What a short trip!
"You're staring." His voice breaks me out of my thoughts.
My eyes meet his. "Hm?.... No, no I'm not." I quickly say and I can feel myself blushing.
He rolls his eyes. "How was your meeting with Dr Sloan?" He asks.
Gosh, his voice. So deep and sexy. How can a guy be this attractive?
Beautiful face, an amazing figure and the sexiest voice ever!
"It was good, I enjoyed it."
"Okay."
"She asked me to write a bucket list." I say, somehow hoping to grow a conversation with him. I love his voice so I enjoy talking to him.
His left eyebrow rises. "Did you?"
I shake my head. "No but I will."
He nods and then his phone starts ringing. "Excuse me." He says and leaves.
I see a notepad and a pen on the centre table so I grab both items and start thinking of my bucket list.
What do I want in life?
I want a beautiful house, with the best husband ever and the cutest children. I want to have a job (that is not modelling). I want to see my friends and family happy and I want to be happy.
Okay. That's some pretty boring shit.
I have to take risks, do crazy things. I want to live! Like a normally twenty one year old.
I want to party hard, learn how to drive a motorcycle, sky dive, bungee jump, I need to unleash my crazy side.
I don't want to be prim and proper Amelia anymore. I want to go wild.
Adam comes back in the living room, texting on his phone and I can't help but to stare at him again. He looks so focused and his pink lips are pouting a little. Cute.
"So handsome."
Shit!
My eyes instantly widen. Did I think just think out loud? When have I ever done that?!
He looks up from his phone and looks at me with a very confused expression on his face.
"Um...." I clear my throat and look down.
"Excuse me?" He asks sounding confused.
"Nothing." I mumble.
I swear it's like my mind goes completely blank when he's around. I'm so distracted by his sexiness so I get all flustered around him.
"Why did you say that?"
Fuck! He heard.
"I'm sorry." I quickly apologise.
What the hell is wrong with me?
He sighs. "Are you always this weird?"
"Weird?"
"Yes, you are very weird."
"What's weird about calling you handsome? It's not like I lied. You are." I say casually.
LIKE IT'S NOT A BIG DEAL!
"Okay." He says with a straight face.
I chuckle at his expression. That is being weird not me. He is so much weirder than I am.
"Do you want to join me?" I ask, motioning to the tv.
"What are you watching?"
"Ibiza."
"Let me guess, it's a chick flick."
"No." I blush.
He rolls his eyes. "I have tons of work to do and even if I didn't, I'm not going to watch a chick flick."
I eye him and shrug. "Fine."
Seeing him like this makes me forget that he's a billionaire. He is so young and I find that really fascinating. How did he make it?
"Didn't think you would get back from New York this early." I say.
He looks at his wristwatch. "It's almost one in the morning."
I shrug. "Yes but still...."
"One of my restaurants had a fire outbreak so I had to go to make sure everything is okay."
My eyes widen. "Oh my God. Did anyone get hurt?"
"Fortunately not." Thank God!
"Great." I smile.
He leaves and I turn my attention back to the movie. It takes a minute before my mind processes what he just said.
"One of my restaurants."
Adam Black owns more than one restaurant. Is there one in Bluefall? I'm sure he didn't become a billionaire by owning branches of restaurants? How many other fucking things does he own and where?
Shit! Just the thought gives me a headache.

The Stormcrow Cycle
Once a powerful and lauded witch, Ba'an salu-Ba'an now lives alone in a cave in the desert, waiting to die. When she rescues an outlander from certain death she becomes embroiled in a deadly game of politics and empire, of heart and soul, but worst of all--of hope and love and a chance at a peaceful future. Can a disgraced witch find a reason to live her life again--and if so, what price must she pay? The Stormcrow Cycle is a trilogy comprising of The Exile, The Lion, and Abomination. Tags or genres for each book: The Exile: romance, slice-of-life The Lion: romance, slice-of-life, politics Abomination: tragedy, high/epic fantasy (aka "Everything is on fire!") Updates once a week whenever I have time. Cross-posted on Wattpad and Scribble Hub. The CBMokedi cover will return! Excerpt: She looked down at him again. Young. Healthy, from what she could see, except for the wound that was killing him. He was handsome in a way that suggested a life of wealth and plenty. She did not think he had ever starved. Someone important. Her shadow fell across him, and he frowned. Blearily, he opened his eyes. They were amber and bright, even as he lay dying in the dirt. She could feel his soul, blazing inside of him like a fire refusing to die even as his body began to fail. He met her gaze, eyes widening in what she guessed was surprise—or shock. But he never looked away, staring up at her as though transfixed. Ba’an made her decision. She raised her hand and covered his eyes. In another moment, a murder of crows cawed as they took wing. The man and woman were gone from the road, leaving only the dead staring up into the sky. Note: This is a high-fantasy set in a low-magic world. The first book is largely character-driven and we really only hit the real plot in Book II, so if you're not fond of long epic yarns you ought to skip this one. I also don't include trigger warnings, but mind the "traumatizing content" tag--all societies minus one practice slavery and the world is indeed, rather grim!
