《My Mysterious Billionaire ✓》9. PTSD

The days following the dinner dates were pretty much calm. Alexander and Amayra didn't argue much but their playful banter was unstoppable. It was their way of conversing with each other. Having breakfast and dinner with Amayra, became a part of Alexander's daily routine. However, once he was alone, he trapped himself amongst his thoughts and dark elements of his life.
What he didn't knew was his PTSD trying to consume his life once again. He tried spending as much time as possible with Amayra, for his sake.

It was another hectic Thursday. I returned back into the apartment by 4. It was awfully quite in here. Andrea took a day off as her son didn't feel too well.
Passing through the hallway, I got a gut wrenching feeling. Deciding to go with it, I knocked on Alexander's door. Seconds passed into minutes, knocks passed into bangs and name calling turned into me yelling his name. No answer came back. I plugged in the speaker. A complete song passed yet I didn't see Alexander storming out of his wrong.
Something was definitely wrong.
I tried turning the door knob around and found it out to be unlocked. I wasn't planning to pry into Alexander's private space anytime soon. But extreme situations call for extreme steps.
Opening the door ajar, I found the room to be pitch dark. The curtains were thick enough to not let the outer luminous world to reach the vicinity of the room.
Am I married to a vampire or what?
Pulling out my phone from my pant's pocket, I switched on the flashlight. Walking into the room, I found the bedsheets to be really crinkly and messy, as if a person physically struggled a lot on it. My heart dropped on thinking about the possibilities. Please be safe Xander. I cried internally.
Taking a few more steps into the room, I found his night stand full of various kinds of pills and syringes. Is he taking drugs?
Shaking my head to get rid off the thoughts, I scanned the room. A door remained ajar there. I predicted it to be washroom's.
The sound of my footsteps echoed in the room as I kept advancing towards the ajar door. Walking in, I saw an enormous bathroom, equally dark as his room. That's when I noticed a hand lightly holding the rim of the bathtub. I sprinted towards the tub, only to find Alexander floating in water.
"Alexander!" I called out his name. I made an effort to pull him out and make him sit against the wall. I tapped on his cheeks while trying to press on his chest to get rid of water from his lungs. "Wake up Alexander!" I cried.
"Andrea! Come here! Help me!" I yelled when I heard the front door clicking open. A few seconds passed and I looked at the door way, to find Aunt Malisa standing there.

"Oh My God! Alexander!" She got on her knees and started patting and shaking Alexander.
"What the fuck happened here Amayra?" Aunt Malisa asked panicking. "I-I was in at the hos-hospital... I came back and called Xand-Xander's name but he didn't reply. I barged in and found him floating in the tub." I pointed at the tub behind me.
"Oh my poor child." She cried out. With her help, I carried Alexander back onto his bed.
Aunt Malisa took out her phone and called someone. I tried rubbing Alexander's hands meanwhile.
"Hey John! Apparantly Alexander's PTSD started kicking in again. I guess Mr. Smith trying to force him triggered his condition. Can you please come over to his place?" She asked.
Alexander was facing PTSD? Unknowingly, I was the one who triggered it? Will it be harmful for him to see me again and again? Will I keep triggering his psychological problems?
So, this is why Alexander tried keeping his distance from me? And like the fucking fool I am, I kept pestering him!
I was deep in my thoughts when Aunt Malisa shook me out.
"What happened Amayra? Are you okay?" She asked concerned. "I was thinking if I was the one who triggered Alexander's PTSD?" I asked her.
Her eyes softened. They brimmed with tears. "I am not gonna lie. But maybe." She said sniffling.
"Alexander's early years of education had been very dreadful. He wasn't good in academics. James Smith's constant taunting didn't help his childish brain. He partially went into depression. Ever since then, a slight act of James of trying to control his life triggers him." She said with glossy eyes.
"I'll leave and stay with Ava for a few days. Will that help him to recover?" I asked desperately. I can't let him suffer because of my stubbornness.
"Oh honey! You don't hav-" I cut her off. "Will that help Aunt Malisa?" I asked again. She heaved a sigh, glanced at Alexander then nodded her head. "It may." She said. I nodded and got up.
I went into my room, took out my notepad. I tore a page from the notepad and wrote a letter yet again.
Dear Xander,
I am really sorry for triggering your problems. I don't want to add on your problems. I'll be moving out for a few days. Let the space away from me heal you. Once you think you're ready to accept me, dial me up.
Sorry again. Get well soon.
Yours truly
Amayra.
I couldn't gather words to find humour in this situation. So I kept the letter short and precise. I kept it on the table. Took out one of my bags, packed my books and few of my clothes. I called Ava and asked her if I could come over for a few days. She answered positively.

Once I was ready, I walked into Alexander's room. He now laid their in a fresh piece of clothing. "Please keep me updated. I guess you have my number." I requested her, eyes still on Alexander. "Okay." She replied and stood up. She came and eloped me into a motherly hug. "Take care. Don't worry I'll be there for Alexander. And don't blame yourself." She said rubbing my back. I really needed this.
I nodded and took my leave.
The days after me moving in with Ava passed quickly. I went back to the routine of over working in the hospital, to distract myself. Aunt Malisa kept messaging me about Alexander's conditions.
Honestly speaking, I missed that grumpy asshole.
"Hey what's up Amy?" Layla asked walking beside me. My shift just got over, and I was walking towards the Hospital's exit.
"Have a lot on my mind. How about you?" I asked. My voice evidently drained out.
"I am good. Although I miss Nick. He won't be back until 15th this month." She updated me. I just nodded. Standing at the gate, I started booking my cab.
"Hey Amy! A really smoking guy is walking towards us. Get a peek bro!" She said out loud. I believe whoever the guy was, could have heard her.
"I am married Layla. I ain't in a mood to look at other guys." I said, my eyes still on my phone.
"Look who's utterly in love with me." I heard a familiar voice teasing me. My head snapped up to find the same alluring stranger with brown orbs and mysterious personality, displaying an almost non noticable smile.
I displayed a wide grin of mine and lunged forward to hug him, making sure I didn't touch his bare skin and make him uncomfortable.
"Easy Tiger. You weren't supposed to miss me so much." He yet again teased. What has gotten into him?
"Oh thank goodness you're fine now. The guilt was killing me inside." I said breaking the hug and maintaining a proper distance. He smiled at me.
"It wasn't your fault. You did nothing to harm me." He said.
"It was. You got triggered because of me." I said looking down. "No. I was cleaning my cupboard that day and I found something that triggered me off. It was nothing related to you." He said.
"Anyways, what are you doing here?" I asked him. "Picking up my wife cum friend. Don't you want to come home again?" He asked me.
I looked beside me to bid Layla a good bye when I saw her looking at Alexander with her eyes and mouth wide open. "Layla?" I shook her out of her day dream.
"Oh my God Amy! Look at him! He's so hot!" She said looking at Xander yet again. I could feel Alexander getting uncomfortable. "Layla Violet Anderson! Shut your mouth. That's my husband you're talking about." I said pushing her chin up. "He's your what?" Layla yelled yet again. "H-U-S-B-A-N-D, husband." I spelled it out.
"So this is the smoking hot sexy handsome asshole billionaire husband you always day dream about?" I can never get more embarrassed. "Layla I'll count till 5. If I don't see you out of my sight, I swear I'll bury you into the ground." I gritted my teeth.
Alexander looked at me and blinked at me twice, thrice and many more times. "You do have friends." He remarked. "More like clowns." I rolled my eyes and started walking with him to his car.
On the way, I texted Ava about my departure with Alexander.
"Alexander?" I called out. "Yes?" He answered. "Did you miss me?" I asked with all seriousness. "Maybe." He muttered. I grinned at his answer. I knew he wouldn't accept that he missed me, but atleast he didn't denied.
"I really can't believe you're a medico. Aren't you guys supposed to be quite and nerdy?" He asked with clear confusion. I rolled my eyes. "That's bullshit. Medicos can be chilled out too. By the way, what made an impression that I am not quite and nerdy?" I asked.
"The fact that you call me out of my room by blasting speakers. Or thay you whine about having dinner with me. Or that you and Andrea ramble so much that my ears hurt. Or that friend of yours was practically yelling about me being 'smoking hot'. I don't know. You tell me." He shrugged.
My mouth agaped. I didn't have an answer. "I am still quite. You still haven't met Nick. He's the one who is loud. I ain't." I said. "Who the fuck is Nick now?" He scrunched up his nose. And I expect him to be a tiny miny bit jealous atleast of hearing his name.
"One of my friends." I rolled my eyes. "Must be like you and the loud girl then." He muttered and drove into the garage. We moved back upto the penthouse. And I passed out cold on the couch.
