《Royals | pjm》One - Monday

Monday.

Haneul hated Mondays to the core.

It was a Monday when her parents made her sit down on the couch in the living room and told her about the engagement contract.

It was a Monday when both him and her first met, and she remembered how he had smirked at her before leaning towards her at the private dining area in the restaurant, and told her "I'll never be yours." while avoiding their parents' gazes.

It would also be a Monday when they would get married lawfully as husband and wife -

As the Crown Prince and his wife.

Haneul glanced up at the sunny sky outside through the window from her classroom, and frowned when she saw a group of people on the ground below, next to the school's mini garden. At the front, there stood three handsome boys, and Haneul scoffed at the sight of their fangirls trailing the three from the behind.

Her breath hitched when the only blond boy suddenly looked up to meet her eyes, and raised an eyebrow at her with a poker face. Following his gaze, unlike his cold demeanour, his two friends broke into smiles at the sight of Haneul.

She watched the two boys say something towards the blond boy who was gazing at her coldly, and not to her surprise, he threw her a lazy smirk before gesturing his friends to continue to walk. And of course, with the group of girls following them again.

Jerk. Haneul rolled her eyes as she thought to herself.

"Is your fiancé giving you the cold treatment again?" A girly voice spoke, causing Haneul to turn her head towards her best friend - Jisoo.

"Since when is he not? I still hate him." Haneul groaned, and flipped her notebook nonchalantly.

Jisoo laughed, shaking her head. "When is your engagement again? I don't care if I'm not invited cause I'll still go."

Haneul glanced at her with a questioning side eye glance before exploding into a laughing fit, and sighed while flipping her planner to find the exact date. Pointing her pen at the date marked with a red pen with the words 'The day I'm marrying the ugly Prince' written, Haneul pouted and leaned her head at Jisoo's shoulder.

"Why must I marry him again? I really despise him! He's so rude and cold towards me and the palace rules are giving me migraines." Haneul whined, and Jisoo patted her head.

"Your grandfathers made the agreement before you two were even born." Jisoo giggled, "Who knows? Maybe you'll fall for him one day."

"Ha! He told me that he will never be mine." Haneul quoted her fiancé's words with her fingers while rolling her eyes. "Not that I want to be with him forever though. Ugh, just the thought of it gives me goosebumps."

Monday.

"LEE HANEUL!"

Upon hearing her name being called oh-so-loudly at the break of dawn, Haneul shot up from her bed with startled eyes, and flinched when her bedroom door was slammed open, revealing her older brother - Hyungsik. He placed his hands at both sides of his hips at the distraught state his younger sister was in.

"W-what?" Haneul stammered in confusion.

Hyungsik scowled. "Are you being serious? It's your wedding day!"

And with that, Haneul spent her entire morning getting dolled up with the help of the most professional stylists in the country. One was busy curling her hair, another was applying makeups on her, and another was busy painting her nails.

Haneul was about to doze off when her mother came into the room, and she felt her heart tug at the sight of her mother choking a sob.

"Eomma, you shouldn't be crying!" Haneul joked while standing up, so that the palace maids could help her with her simple yet elegant wedding gown.

"I know, but I just can't believe that you're getting married at such a young age." Her mother pouted slightly while caressing her daughter's head. "You know that appa, eomma and your oppa will forever love you no matter what right?"

Haneul nodded, and her tears were at the verge of spilling out when her mother placed the veil over her head, and looked at her reflection on the mirror with a warm smile.

"I'll see you later, all the best." Her mother pecked her forehead lightly before exiting the room.

A knock was then heard, and Haneul's father walked in, looking smart with his suit and combed hair.

"Ooh appa! You look handsome today!" Haneul giggled while linking her arms with her father's.

"Of course I have to look handsome for my daughter's wedding! She's becoming a princess afterall." Her father said softly as he guided her out of the room.

"I'm still reluctant to get married to him, appa. I don't want to be a royalty. I just want my normal life back." Haneul whispered, and heard her father sighed.

"I know, but we can't go against a royal contract. Besides, the ex-King helped your grandfather a lot and they are still best friends." Her father comforted her as they continued to walk, and finally stopped at a wooden door with two butlers bowing at them. "You can do this, Haneul. Have faith."

As the wedding march started to play, the door was pushed open to reveal a long red carpet that stopped at the altar at the front of the hall. Haneul glanced around, and grinned when she spotted Jisoo smiling proudly at her next to her mother and brother, and of course, her grandfather.

"Lift your head, Haneul." Her father reminded her gently, and Haneul obliged his words while clutching onto her bouquet of baby breaths tighter.

An involuntary gulp occured within her when Haneul met Jimin's eyes which were gawking at her from the altar. He looked dashing, and breathtaking even, with his dyed blond hair styled handsomely and him in a neat suit, his earrings reflecting the spotlight that was shining on them.

"Take good care of my daughter, Your Highness." Haneul's father spoke as he handed her hand to Jimin's outstretched one, and the latter nodded with assurance at the elder.

Holding her hand, Jimin guided Haneul up the altar and tried his best not to feel fluttered at the sight of her being so close to him. He wondered where did the nerdy-looking Lee Haneul go.

"Let's start the ceremony." The priest announced, and the audiences sat down to listen to his speech.

Haneul stifled a yawn as the longwinded priest kept going on and on, making Jimin's nostrils flare as he was trying not to laugh. Squeezing her hands, Haneul's eyes shot wide open to glare at Jimin who was warning her not to fall asleep with his eyes widened as well.

It took the priest another five minutes for him to finally say the most important sentences in the ceremony.

"Do you, Crown Prince Park Jimin, take Lee Haneul as your lawful wife, and promise to love and take good care of her be it good or bad, sick or healthy, happy or sad?"

Jimin smirked at Haneul who was staring at him with her cheeks flushed. "I do."

"And do you, Lee Haneul, take Crown Prince Park Jimin as your lawful husband, and promise to love and take good care of him be it good or bad, sick or healthy, happy or sad?"

"I-I do." Haneul stuttered, and cursed at herself innerly for what was going to happen next.

"You may now kiss the bride!"

Haneul's heartbeat increased frantically as Jimin leaned down with his hands leaving hers to cup her jaws gently. Shifting her eyes away, Haneul was reluctant to look at Jimin who couldn't stop smirking at her.

"Look at me, Haneul." Jimin took a step closer towards her, and used a hand to place it on her back to make her come closer towards him.

"What? Are we seriously doing this?" Haneul questioned nervously, and pouted a little when Jimin gestured towards their grandfathers who were glancing at them with excitement.

"Do you want to upset them?" He taunted.

"No."

"Then just bear with it." Jimin whispered before planting his lips onto hers, and smiled when he tasted the cherry taste on her lips. As the crowd started to cheer, Jimin moved away and laughed at how red Haneul was.

The event went on for the whole day, with the entire country celebrating the good news (and mainly, tomorrow being an off day). Both Jimin and Haneul were exhausted from the hectic day, and as the clock striked eight, it was finally the youngster's party time.

The King and Queen had decided to throw a party on a private cruise that was meant for only Jimin, Haneul and both of their friends to let them have their own time.

"Haneul!" A familiar voice called, and Haneul broke into a grin when Jisoo embraced her with a bear hug. "Oh my, my best friend is really married!"

Haneul giggled before letting her go. "Let's party tonight." She winked at her best friend.
