《His Dragon King》Chapter 10

I lay on my back looking at the lavishly sculpted ceiling. I was spread eagled across the larger than life bed, exposed because I was too afraid to wear any clothes in fear my new body jewelry would get caught and tear. The dragons seemed to enjoy them, swooping down and tugging on the tender piercings when I wasn't looking. I would always have to swat my hands at them, and they would scurry down and snatch onto another one.
I flipped over on my hands and knees and crawled across the bed towards the stairs that were situated in the middle of piles of gold. I wrapped a black knitted blanket around my shoulders as I trudged down the steps, the dragons flowing around my body and leading the path down the stairs.
I was hesitant at the door, my fingers brushing over the large hoop handle as I stood staring at the floor. I felt anxious for some reason, the little quake in my fingers the only sign of my despair. With shuffling feet, I pushed open the door. It freaked and groaned under my arms as I slammed it open.
Just as the door opened wide enough, I stepped through pausing a breath of a second to let the dragons swoop and jump in. I closed it with a resonating thump and focused my eyes down the long stone hallway.
With my re-dug up confidence I marched down the hall determinately, the soft pitter patter of my feet the only sound echoing off the walls.
I came up to another door which I knew was important by the way the dragons jumped around excitedly, but they all scurried to find a place on my skin as I opened this door a lot more silently than the other.
The door revealed an old fashioned office. Bookshelves outlining the walls and a large brick fireplace situated in front of a comfy looking burgundy chair. A large wooden desk sat across from me with a modern looking computer on top and another door was nestled in between all the books. Some of the dragons flew off my body to jump around what I was assuming to be Osiris's office, sulking back when they realized Osiris wasn't there.
I walked around brushing ghost fingers over the binds of the vintage books, pausing in wonder when I smelt a linger of Osiris's scent on each one. I stood behind his desk scanning my eyes over the documents and trying to open up drawers. My exploration was cut short when the door groaned and a man stepped through. Big build, but shorter than me. Dirty blonde hair and scolding blue eyes that stared me down from the doorway.

"What are you doing in Lord Andrus's private office?" He asked, purposefully making his voice deeper and intimidating. It didn't faze me one bit.
"None of your business," I growled. "Now could you please direct me to Lord Andrus." I clasped the blanket closer around me when I felt the vibrations of the dragons growls and snarls.
The cocky man looked down at my legs to see the dragons twisting and constricting around my calves. His eyes went wide and his mouth became agape.
"I'm terribly sorry for my rudeness. I will take you to him right away right away." He gave a dazzling smile and a gallant bow.
I looked him over, deciding not to press anymore on the matter. Fear was rolling off him in waves and that was punishment enough for being rude. With a slight nod of my head I followed the man out the door from which he came through. From his smell I knew he was a cat. Most likely a lion from the dirty blonde mop on his head, but the greatest giveaway was his cockiness. Lions are extremely prideful creatures.
He led me down another stone hallway, this one at least had a few doors running off the sides. We walked up stone cold steps and entered another hallway through the door atop the stairs. Surprisingly this hallway was not stone, but wood. Through a few more confusing doors we entered a large sitting area, looking much like the office in style.
A powerful man sat in one of the two mahogany chairs situated in front of another grand fireplace. One long forearm laid across the arm of the chair, the other wrapped around his stubbled jaw. He seemed to be in great concentration as his bright eyes focused deeply into the heath of the fire. I knew he heard us enter though because he was too intuned with his surroundings not to notice.
"Thank you for my mate. You leave now." His voice left no room for any argument or question. The lion bowed once more and left through the door, leaving me completely alone with Osiris.
I wrapped the blanket tighter around myself. The only sound in the room was the crispy cackle of the fireplace as the logs were devoured by the flames.
"Come here," he spoke delicately above a whisper, but I heard every syllable escape his voice loud and clear.
With steps that seemed to float forth off the ground, I made my way across the room. The dragons seemed to dissipate off my body as I stalked closer and closer to Osiris's resting form.

Instead of standing in front of him like a sacrifice, I took my place beside him in the chair that matched his. I felt his mismatched gaze on my form, but I dared not look back.
I slumped back into the chair looking deep into the fire as well, the gentle roar of the flames lulling me. The red haze pulling me in the warmth and completely eradicating any worries I once had.
Time went by and as the fire shrunk, so did my eyes. They dropped for a second too long, so I let them rest there for a moment. My face warm and my body completely relaxed. I felt a warm breath on my cheeks and felt my eyes shift to the shadow beyond my eyelids. Strong fingers laid across mine and pulled the blanket I grasped tighter around my shoulders.
I opened my eyes and came face to face with Osiris. He leaned away slowly from my face and turned to collect another blanket that sat on a shelf behind him. He swooped down holding the two corners of the blanket wide as he reached under my body.
He tucked the corners into my sides, then picked me up into his steady arms. He carried me over to a long sofa placed a little ways from the fire. He snuggled me down into the folds of the couch looking deep into my eyes as he sat in an elaborate arm chair across from my laying firm.
I lay on my side with my body facing his. My arms trapped under the bundles of blankets and my legs curled closely to my chest. Every so often when my breath came forth from my mouth it stirred the knitted ends of the blanket closest to my face.
"How are you feeling?" Were the first words that lingered in the air. Osiris's voice was calm, but I saw the raging storm in his eyes even with the distance between us.
"Pain." I felt the dragons tighten around my legs and I felt the calming atmosphere suddenly turn serious, but Osiris didn't act the way I thought he would.
He had both arms laid out on the handles of the chair. His one leg bobbing rhythmically up and down, but still he was utterly calm. "It will pass in a few hours," his voice confident and strong.
I shrugged my shoulders, moving my body so I was sitting again. I felt uncomfortable being below him. He stood up abruptly pausing to look down upon me. "Come, we have matters to settle," then turned and started walking to the door.
It was odd, this behavior. I was so used to being so touchy and possessive.
With careful movements I stood up and followed him, staying at least a step behind him because of his odd behavior.
We went back the way we came, pausing by a door close to the place I had awoken in to enter. I stepped inside behind him not surprised we had entered an elaborate closet filled with clothes.
I stood away as Osirisdug through clothes and came back with a few items in his hands. I dropped the blankets, I wasn't shy about my nudity. I was proud of my body and kept my head up as I grabbed the clothes. I slipped on a pair of silk blue pants that were tight at the bottom, but loose at the top. Next I covered my torso with a casual flowing black shirt. I was thankful that the clothes were loose. I didn't want my piercings to snag on anything.
After I changed we entered the room that was overflowing with gold. I stopped at the door and addressed him.
"Where are we going?"
"To see your creator," he said without stopping.
I jogged up to him and grasped his arm, pulling him so he turned to look at me properly.
"Why?" I questioned with slight worry in my tone.
He reached a hand across and clutched my jaw. "So I may mate with you properly."
My brow furrowed as he walked up the stairs, then my eyes went wide as I watched Osiris's body morph into his second form.
I heard bone crack and crunch and watched as he turned into a powerful golden dragon. I gasped as it turned to me. With little thought and only my instincts, I took off to the door running away from the dragon's fire breathing jaw.
