"Sam's lost the element of surprise, and he doesn't want to take you on outnumbered, so he's not gonna come at you head on. He's got the place surrounded and he'll wait for his opportunity." Jacob informed them.

"We won't get through without a fight." Emmett stated.

"No fights. We won't be the ones to break the treaty." Dad issued.

"The treaty is void. At least in Sam's mind." Jacob remarked.

"Not in ours."Mom replied.

"Carlisle, no ones hunted for weeks." Emmett stated.

"We'll make do." Mom told him, making him along with Jasper slump down.

I felt bad because although I need blood too, I can still suffice with human food. Since I lied about that family hunting trip a week ago, my family is basically starving. Their black eyes showing it. Mine will probably fade to grey soon too.

"You've done us a great service Jacob. Thank you." Dad thanked Jacob, he nodded.

Nightfall came and I was with Jacob and Leah out by the river. Seth was resting by a near by tree. We were trying to hear if the others were around.

Leah suddenly approached us, standing a few feet away, also looking out to the distance.

"I know that they're out there somewhere, but I can't hear them anymore. Its so quiet." Jacob announced quietly. I held his hand and rested my head on his arm, feeling his warmth.

"I stopped hearing them too, the second I decided to leave. Its nice." Leah confessed. I was actually surprised she's talking to us nicely.

"You know you can't stay here." Jacob suddenly said, making Leah and I turn to him.

"But I don't have any place-"

"I can't trust you with the Cullens, especially Avalei. You hate them too much. You don't even like me." Jacob stated.

"I don't have to. I just have to follow you. And I do like Avalei, its just-"

Wait did she just say she liked me?

"Look, Seth doesn't want you here. Neither do I." Jacob spatted lowly. That made Leah almost walk off but I scolded Jake.

"Jake, that's not a nice thing to say." I scolded Jacob, he just looked away, ignoring me.

"Being unwanted isn't exactly a new thing for me" Leah confessed, I turned back towards her.

Jacob continued to look away, I pulled on his arm, "Listen to what Leah has to say." I looked at Leah and nodded my head at her, telling her to continue.

"Look, I'll stay out of your way. I'll do whatever you want, except go back to Sam's pack and be the pathetic ex girlfriend he can't get away from. You don't know how many times I wished I could imprint on someone. Anyone." Leah finished. I stood there, surprised.

See, Leah wasn't bad. She was just bottled up inside with all those feelings. She hated always being reminded of being dumped by Sam and him imprinting on her cousin.

She was just misunderstood.

I looked at Jacob, he too understood.

"Just to break the connection." Jacob stated. Leah nodded sadly.

I heard Jacob sigh loudly, letting go of my hand and kissing my forehead, then going over to Leah, "Alright, I'm gonna do a perimeter run. You got my flank?"

Leah nodded a little happier now that we understood her and that Jacob is letting her stay, they were about to go off until I called out to Leah.

"Leah wait." She stopped and I went up to her, then hugged her. She hesitated at first, probably shocked that I was hugging her or maybe disgusted that I was hugging her, but I soon felt her arms around me, securing the hug.

We pulled back, "Thank you. I know how hard it is for you to be here, with my family and all but, thank you for being here. It'll be nice to have another wolf girl around." I smiled. I saw a bit of a smile on her face as well and nodded.

I looked over to Jacob who was looking at us, he smiled slightly too then ran off. Leah following right after.

I went back into the house and found Emmett by the window, pacing. Then he stopped, probably seeing some of the wolves in the distance then continued to pace.

A little while later, we all were around Bella as she slept, Edward being behind the couch she was sleeping on. Jacob soon came back. I immediately went to go hug him. We then made our way towards Bella, sitting on the seat next to the couch.

"Rosalie, why don't you get Jacob and Avalei something from the kitchen." Mom suddenly ordered.

Rosalie looked at her, obviously she didn't want to. Then she looked at me and I gave her soft eyes.

"Thanks but no thanks. I'd rather not eat something with blondie's spit in it." Jacob provoked. I looked at Jacob and smacked his chest slightly.

"She would never embarrass herself with such a lack of hospitality." I looked over to Rose sternly.

Rosalie glanced at me, a bit annoyed but then got up, "Course not." She went into the kitchen.

"You'd tell me if she poisoned it right?" Jacob asked.

I looked back at Jacob.

"Its broken another one of her ribs." Edward announced, snapping me out of our little telepathy conversation. We saw Bella cringe a bit still sleeping. We also heard a lot of pots and bowls clattering in the kitchen.

Rosalie soon came back into the living room holding a nice plate with some spaghetti and a dog bowl with a hotdog in it.

Rosalie gave me the spaghetti and placed the dog bowl on the floor. I looked at her blankly and annoyed.

"Enjoy mongrel." She insulted as she started to walk away, "And don't make such a big deal about it. Even normal human babies have been known to crack ribs." Rosalie added heading back towards the kitchen.

Jacob let me off of him and picked up the bowl and took a bite out of the hotdog before chucking it over to Rosalie. Hitting her head and getting food in her hair.

Emmett and Edward laughed at that, I only hit Jacob on his arm, harder this time but he smiled too, finishing his food in his mouth and sat back down, pulling me to him to sit on his lap again.

Rosalie touched her hair and turned around, glaring straight at Jacob, "You got food in my hair!" Rosalie stammered out, angrily.

Jacob, Emmett and Edward continued to laugh a bit, smiling at what happened. I just shook my head, "I'm sorry Rose." She just looked at the others again and stormed off.

"Did you really have to do that and waste such a good plate of food?" I spat at Jacob.

He looked at me smirking, "Oh come on. It was worth it." I continued to glare at him but he just smiled wider, which made me roll my eyes and slightly smile too.

"Are you gonna eat that?" Jacob suddenly asked, referring to the spaghetti.

"Are you going to throw it at anyone else in my family? Because I have a few tricks up my sleeve too." I said levitating the plate above him.

He smiled again but it faded away as he shook his head, looking at the plate above him. I brought the plate a little lower, "Fine, but next time, don't waste any food." I warned him and gave him the plate. He immediately started scarfing it down.

"You cold?" Edward asked. Bella hummed a yes.

"Jake" I called him and Jake immediately knew what I wanted him to do.

"I got it." He scooted over closer towards Bella and placed a hand on her side. Bella looked over to him and smiled.

"Don't do that." Jacob stated.

"Do what?" Bella softly said.

"Smile like I'm your favorite person in the world." Jacob finished.

"You're one of them." Bella said weakly, "It feels complete when you both are here." She said, looking at me and Jake.

Bella suddenly gasps and sits up a bit, holding her stomach, looking like she'd puke. Edward held up a trash bin but nothing came out of her.

"We need to find a way to get some food into her system." Mom issued, Bella laid back down.

"If we could only see the fetus..." Alice started, "The Baby" Rosalie corrected, "Maybe we could figure out what it wants." Alice finished.

I know exactly what it might want...Blood. I mean, its half vampire right?

"I think you might be right. Jacob just had an idea." Edward announced, looking at Jacob. Hey, I thought of it first, why didn't I get the credit?...Oh yeah, my mind's blocked...Oops my bad. Go on.

"It wasn't an idea. It was a snide comment." Jacob retorted. I rolled my eyes at him. Typical Jacob.

"What were you thinking?" Dad asked.

"That it's probably just looking for someone to sink it's teeth into." Jacob replied smirking.

Bella looked at Edward, "He's thirsty."

"I know the feeling." Emmett added. You got that right. Its only been 2 days since Dad and mom ordered us that we'd be okay without blood and they're eyes are so dark and black, while mine is turning grey. I mean, I need blood but I won't need it as much as the rest of my family.

"If its craving, its not gonna want animal blood." Edward stated.

"I have some O negative laid aside for Bella." Dad said walking out of the room.

"Walk with me." Alice said to Jasper who immediately turned his head towards dad when he announced he had blood in the house. Alice took Jasper away. I saw Rosalie look at Emmett and he too went away.

Dad came back and was filling a glass with blood from a blood bag. Now I've drank blood before but seeing it like that changes things...its kind of gross.

"Wait wait wait. You're gonna make her drink that?" Jacob asked. I can already tell he's not liking this idea anymore.

"Its the fastest way to test the theory." Dad said finished pouring the blood into the glass.

"Only if you're comfortable with it." Edward stated to Bella.

She sat up, "I'll try anything."

"Just hold on" Edward said getting up and grabbing a Styrofoam cup with a straw and filled it with the blood from the glass.

"I think I'm gonna be sick." Jacob said, scooting back over to me, now sitting on the other side of me, farther from Bella, placing an arm around my shoulders, leaning his face into my hair.

"Jake, this will hopefully help her." I reassured him. He still looked disgusted over it thought. We both looked over to her.

Edward came back over and handed the cup to Bella, "This might make it a little easier to take."

Bella puts the straw between her lips then sucked, watching the red stain the straw. I have to admit, it made me thirsty watching her.

After a sip, her lips and teeth were red, "It tastes...good." She let out and took another sip. Making the rest of us sigh in relief and Edward smile.

Dad went over to her as she took another sip, "Your pulse is already getting strong."

"Its working." mom added. Jacob suddenly took his arm off of me then stood up, looking down at me with a hand out to me, I looked at him understanding that he doesn't want to be here when Bella's drinking human blood from a cup and I for one, knew that my craving for blood would be getting stronger too. I took his hand and led him outside onto the balcony.

I got to the railing first and faced Jacob as he approached me.

"Well, that was revolting." Jacob commented. I giggled a bit as he held my waist, pulling me closer.

"I have to admit, although I've drank blood before, seeing her drink blood that way just- yeah it was gross." We both let out a chuckle.

"Your eyes have turned grey. You need blood soon too." He said caressing my cheek with one of his hands.

I closed my eyes then looked back at him, "I know, but I can last longer than my family can. We'll hunt once all of this, is over." I placed my arms around his neck and pulled him even more closer.

"It's been nice having you here. You know having to cope with the treaty all the time before didn't allow you on our lands but, now, I love that you're here. Thanks Jake."

"You know I wouldn't have left you." Jake added.

"I know" I then leaned in to kiss him, but pulled back after a few seconds, "But you really should get along with my family better, and by that I mean be nicer to Rosalie. She is my sister."

Jacob chuckled again, "Come on, you have to admit, when I threw the food at her, you wanted to laugh too. I saw that smile on your face after she left."

"Because I was impressed at your throwing skills. And because I've never seen Edward laugh like that in awhile" I smiled, "But seriously Jake, think of it this way, if I can put up with Paul, you can put up with Rose." I told him sternly.

He looked down at me then sighed, "Fine, I'll try. Happy?"

I leaned up to kiss him again, "Very." When I pulled away, I faced the railing now.

We leaned against the railing, Jacob behind me, hugging me from behind.

We then noticed Alice approach us, "Chatty aren't they?" Alice chimed referring to the wolves growls out there in the distance.

"When were they not?" I added.

"They're just trying to keep us on edge." Jacob said softly.

"Well its working." Alice replied. Then she scooted closer towards us, almost touching Jacob's side.

Jacob a little uncomfortable with her so close and looked at her, "What?" I elbowed him a bit.

"I can't stand next to you guys?" Alice asked.

Jacob smelled my hair, looking out into the distance again, "Okay."

"See when I'm close to you is like being able to shut my eyes. Everything goes away. Except for that wet dog smell." She finished, making both of us laugh.

"Well I'm glad I can help someone other than my imprint." Jacob said looking over to Alice. She smiled at us.
