《The Retribution Contract》36.

Chairs were tumbled upside down. Files scattered around the office floor as if a storm had blown them away from the cabinets. There were unknown people going through the entire office searching for something. This is what Jungkook encountered when he entered AD Corp.
"What the hell is happening here?" Jungkook shouted gaining the attention of the men present inside. Jackson and his hyungs were standing just behind him with the same pissed off expressions. "Mr. Jackson Wang I am so glad that you finally decided to come here. I'm dissapointed though. Despite of knowing that today there was suppose to be a police inspection you didn't come on time. Not just that but there are no files related to the deal or manufacture of the painkiller here. What is that suppose to mean Mr. Wang?" One of the police officers, who was supposedly the head of the team said.
"Police inspection? There is no police inspection today officer but a trial in the court at noon." Jackson exclaimed. The police officer scoffed hearing him. "We'll see about that. For now hand over that bag to us. We have to check something." Saying this he went towards them and snatched away the bag from Jackson's hand. None of them questioned him though because they were confident about their documents.
The police officer took out the files from the bag and gestured his team mates to help him. Soon they started checking and looking for the information they desired. Ten minutes later the leader of the team turned to Jungkook and the others and jingled the handcuffs infront of his face. "Mr. Wang after going through these files we have to take you for interrogation. The court has already given us permission for that."
"You can't do that. Not when the files don't have any proof against the company." Jungkook intervened. "See Mr. Jeon don't interfere in your friend's matter. Otherwise I'd be forced to take you into custody as well." The police officer spoke looking into his eyes strictly.

"Don't worry Kook. I'll go with them. It's just an interrogation." Jackson assured him and then followed behind the officers who left the office with all the files and documents. Jungkook kicked a fallen chair in frustration. "They took him before the trial hyung. I hope there would be no problem in the court after this." He said and pushed back the hair falling on his forehead.
"Don't worry Jeon. There's no trial today. It was a fake information I supplied to you." The sudden voice forced them all to look towards the entrance. Their faces morphed into a confused expression when they saw Han-Gyoel entering inside. The old man had a vicious smirk resting on his face and Jungkook could tell that something was not quite right. "There is no trial today. CEO Jeon." The man reiterated surprising everyone.
"What? Are you surprised that i know about your secret identity?" Han-Gyoel said looking at the bewildered expression on the faces around him. He cockily walked towards the couch and sat there casually. "Jungkook did you really think that Taehyung, my son was going to chose you over me. It was a plan my dear. He was with you as a spy. Every information he got was given to me. How do you think I came to know about you being the real CEO of AD Corp.? We planned everything together Jungkook. Even this scandal. Not just that but today Taehyung and Seojun changed every document from your files. You are going to lose your company soon."
"Stop lying you f*cker." Jungkook shouted at the top of his voice. His eyes were red and his blood boiling with anger. Tae will not backstab me. He loves me. He'll never do that. He promised. His heart was chanting these words inside to keep him sane.

Han-Gyoel smirked looking at the worked up ravenette. His plan was working perfectly. "I'll prove it you then." Saying this he gestured Seojun to come forward and the said man nodded his head following every instruction.
"Seojun hyung come to the Jeon mansion tomorrow and look into the files. We have to be quick and do it before the trial."
The audio Seojun played was enough for Jungkook's heart to break. The voice was undoubtedly Taehyung's. Jungkook's step staggered as he stepped back in shock. He was rendered wordless. You were fooled again. Congratulations Jungkook. His mind mocked him.
"Taehyung wanted to stay with you and keep up with the act till we successfully take Asmodeus down but I want my son to come back to me. I can't see him staying in a place that makes him unhappy. This is the only reason I told you the truth. Hopefully you'll free him after this." Saying this the man got up and walked towards the door.
"I'm sorry to say this but he never loved you Jungkook. You were just too dense to notice the truth. If you had tried a little you could have definitely seen it. My success is all because of your foolishness. So thank you very much." With that the devil left the place with his accomplice leaving behind a broken ravenette.
Jungkook on the other hand left numb. He didn't know what to do or how to react. He was totally blank. Everything felt unreal and he wanted it to be nothing but a bad dream.
"Jungkook?" Jimin's unsure voice forced him to look at the others. He had totally forgotten about them. "Kook......" Jimin couldn't say a word more. Jungkook just looked at them with tears streaming down his face. Tears that he was unaware of. "He fooled me again hyung. He fooled me again and I trusted him like the fool I am." He finally broke his silence.
"Let's go talk to him Jungkook. He can't get away after betraying us for the second time." Yoongi said looking at the younger with his blood shot eyes. Jungkook shook his head and smiled bitterly. He wiped his tears harshly and said "He doesn't deserve to know hyung. He doesn't deserve any chances to justify his actions or even say a word. I won't go to him and make a fool of myself again."
He took in a deep breath and gulped the lump in his throat. The thought of the betrayal made a sudden surge of hatred and anger travel through his body.
"He killed my last good today and now he'll see a new version of me. The version that his fake love created."

My first story posted on here! I already have the outline of the first couple of books planned out and will be posting a new chapter every Tuesday and Friday. The story will be dark at times but I intend to keep things fairly light when I can. I'm aiming for a world that isn't full of sunshine and rainbows but isn't as bleak as it could be. Focusing on friendship, camaraderie, sh*t talking, and adventure.

Ætla Verǫld
AV Online was just a flash in the pan—a harsh, experimental land which lost most of its players in mere weeks. Only the dedicated few remained, carving out their destinies in corners of the vast abandoned world. Lily Quinn wasn't one of them. With a career worth millions in the esports world, she didn't have time for a game like Avo—but when an exclusive beta test for the new version showed up on her doorstep, she couldn't say no… as much as she wanted to. Literally hooked into the simulation, Lily reluctantly entered a world beyond anything she'd ever dreamed of. Accompanied by seven other beta testers desperate to save their beloved game, Lily dives into a vibrant, beautiful world, where mystery and adventure waits around every corner. Despite her reservations, Lily finds a joyful escape in Avo, shattering her cold, hollow reality. It was just a game though… until the group discovered they couldn't log out. Trapped in a game with no rules, and surrounded by cutthroat players eager to kill for a quick windfall, Lily and her ragged band have no choice but to fight their way out, or die in a game that has turned all too real. Hi there! I'm setting off on yet another adventure, come join me :3 Unusually for me, there's only one perspective this time, and it's quite a bit more action-oriented than I usually write. Don't worry, though: everything's still as character-driven as always, and I never get tired of writing dialogue. Just to acknowledge it up front: this story is heavily inspired by EVE Online and the many stories generated by that world. However, since this is a fantasy setting, not sci-fi, don't expect any real parallels. Chapter publish rate for this one will be whenever I write them, as with Epilogue. I don't expect to move as fast here though, since it's not for NaNo. The plan is chapters somewhere in the 4k-5k range, and hopefully frequently. The Last Science takes priority as always though. Special thanks to Reaver and Ace Arriande for pushing me to get this going, and to all my fellow writers whom I've stolen from been inspired by. You're all wonderful people and I love you Quick reminder: Patrons get to read ahead of what's published! Also, try my other works: The Last Science — A Tale of Modern Magic Epilogue — A Post-Fantasy Psychodrama What are you still doing on the synopsis? Get to reading! Two Existentialists | S.R.
"How many existentialists does it take to screw a lightbulb?" Spencer asked with a small laugh. Once again the room was silent. You faintly heard Agent Rossi mutter, "Don't.""2. One to change the light bulb and one to observe how it symbolizes an incandescent beacon of subjectivity in a netherworld of cosmic nothingness," he said. The room was silent still, until you laughed. His eyes looked up at yours in confusion. "Wouldn't they sit in the dark and hope that the bulb decided to light again? An existentialist would never change the bulb. He would allow the darkness to exist," you questioned.-#1 #spencerreid#1 #mgg#1 emilyprentiss
