Don't lose yourself while trying to love someone else.
Jungkook had to remind himself everyday. He had never loved someone as much as he loved a certain boy. But what good had that love given him? It had only taken away everything from right under his nose. Even his own self. The ravenette didn't want to lose himself again. He just couldn't repeat the same mistake once again.
He decided to listen to his mind this time. He would turn a deaf ear to his heart who was begging him to embrace his love. He would ignore his stupid heart who was constantly telling him that Taehyung needs him. Why should he listen to it? He has no reason to. The only thing that mattered to him was his child now. He was only good to his husband because of the little life inside him.
Even today while entering the mansion he had thoughts of only his child. He was home early because he missed his little melon. That's it. Nothing more. No one else mattered but it was difficult to explain this to his heart.
With one hand resting on the knob he breathed in and out to gain his cold composure and opened the door to his room. It was absolutely dark and a sudden uneasiness settled in the pit of his stomach. "Tae?" He called out forgetting all the resolves he had made earlier. Switching on the lights he found his husband on the bed and breathed out in relief.
He took long strides towards Taehyung and when he saw him staring at the wall instead of sleeping he got worried all over again. "Tae?" He gently shook the boy to bring him out of his trance. Taehyung turned towards him and something inside Jungkook broke looking at his state.

His eyes red and swollen. His face flushed and tear stains adorning his cheeks. He looked so broken. "Kook. I am a curse right? I bring bad things in everybody's life." The voice was so small and vulnerable that Jungkook quickly pulled him up and secured him in his arms.
"No! You can never be a curse. Never." He said and kissed Taehyung's head lovingly. On hearing the words Taehyung separated himself from Jungkook and asked "How can you say that? After everything I have done. You still think that?"
Jungkook sighed. "Every moment I had with you was a blessing to me. The time we had spent together is priceless. Back then you came into my life as a blessing Tae and even after the incident two years ago I can't seem to change my mind. I will never regret meeting you. Even if you betray me a thousand times I will still want to meet you again." His eyes on Taehyung were so endearing that the latter felt his body all over again. He felt as if a huge burden had been removed from his shoulders.
"Why are you so nice to me? I'm a bad person k...kook." Taehyung said. His voice heavy and breaking with the overwhelming emotions. "Do you think I want to be good to you? I'm doing this for melon." The ravenette said and both of them laughed a little. The tense air around them slowly easing out.
"The heart is always stronger than the mind." Jungkook said looking right into the pair of puppy eyes. "It knows things you don't know yourself. You might have betrayed me but I can never consider you as a curse. You just forgot the difference between good and bad. You did something for someone you loved even if it wasn't me. Your intention was still love so how can you be a curse. The next time such thoughts trouble you just ask your heart. It will always tell you the right thing. Following it is a little difficult but it's worth it."

Jungkook smiled at the end and the next thing he knew was Taehyung hugging the life out of him. "Thank you Kook. Thank you so much." The boy muttered as he buried his face in the crook of the ravenette's neck.
He snuggled closer when two strong arms snaked around his back. Sighing in relief he smiled to himself. His thoughts were finally clear. Jungkook's words had given him the light his heart had been looking for. His heart gave him all the answers in an instant and he finally found himself today.
"Where's Jungkook?" Hoseok asked as soon as he entered the office. "He went home early today." Namjoon replied. The cheerful boy nodded and sat down with all the others. "By the way what have you been thinking Jin hyung? You've been in deep thought since I came in."
"Should we stop acting cold towards Taehyung?" The said boy spoke gaining all the attention. There was a glint in their eyes that was giving an answer to that question. "We are taking care of him. That's enough. I don't want to get toyed with again. There should be people around to show him that he did wrong." Jimin burst out suddenly.
"You didn't talk to him even once. I know you're scared because if you stay with him even for a second you'll forgive him. Won't you?" Jin questioned him instead. Jimin just looked away. He knew that Jin was right. Taehyung was so much more than just his best friend. He was a sibling to him. His partner in crime. His soulmate.
Everytime he had been in a difficult situation the person who had helped him up was Taehyung. After the betrayal it took him months to accept the reality. He felt empty because there was no one he could confide into. That person was gone and he didn't want to be in a situation like that again.
"Will you be able to trust him again hyung?" Jimin asked everyone and they all just looked away. "No right. So why do you want to let him in again? Let's not do this. Even Jungkook has forgotten his resolve. What if Taehyung betrays us again? His father will always be more important to him than any of us. I don't know about you guys but I will never forgive him."
Saying this he stood up and immediately left the room. He walked away with a pounding heart and head because...
Sometimes you have to force yourself you say words that you never mean.

Authors Note: If you find that the dialogue from the prologue to chapter 5 seem to be not that smooth, I apologize for that, it was my first time writing a fanfic so the dialogue was not in a format that is ideal. However, due to reader comments and some research I will try to attempt to improve the dialogue from chapter 6 and onwards. I may or may not come back to edit the first few chapters since I would have to rewrite most of it and I would rather spend that time writing out more of the story.
