Loud thumping of shoes. Gunshots. Screaming. It didn't even take a second for the fairytale to turn into a nightmare. A nightmare that had trapped all of them in it. The once peaceful place had suddenly become a battlefield. Taehyung was absolutely blank at the moment. He couldn't comprehend the things around him.
Suddenly he was pulled somewhere. The boy was so out of it that he couldn't even scream. "Tae!" Jungkook's soothing voice forced him to look up. He finally registered the situation he was in. Both of them were hiding behind a big pillar and Jungkook was shielding him with his own body.
As fear inside him elevated he clutched onto Jungkook's shirt for dear life. The ravenette eyed him with a soft gaze and gently held his face. "Keep hiding here. Hmm. I'll be on the other side of the pillar. I'm going to protect you both so don't worry." The scared and dazed look on Taehyung's face was enough to add fuel to his already burning blood.
Giving one last glance at his husband he finally came out of hiding and took out his gun. "You all are going to regret this." He said out loud and then started firing at the intruders. Each and every of his bullet pierced through his targets. Once the coast was clear he took out the ear piece from his coat and quickly sported it to his ear.
"Guys! Are you all right?" He asked taking shield behind a table. "Yes!" They all said in unison but Jungkook knew that in reality they were far from being alright. He could hear the gunshots and grunting from the other sides. The struggles of his team mates and hyungs was making him feel pathetic. The attack was well planned and now he was just cursing himself for letting his guard down.

He turned around to make sure that no one was around the pillar Taehyung was hiding behind but when he saw two men sneakily trying to do the same he lost it. He ran and kicked one of them right on his stomach and then swiftly punched the other guy square in the face.
Snatching the gun from one of them he fired the bullets successfully shooting both the men at the same time. Then he quickly went behind the pillar only to find Taehyung standing there in the exact same position he had left him in. "Here take this." He handed one of the guns in his hand to the boy.
Taehyung nodded his head and quickly held the gun with his trembling hands. "I'll be back." He heard the ravenette say and then the warmth around him vanished. He took a deep breath to calm his nerves and held onto the gun tightly. He knew that Jungkook couldn't be there for him at all times because he was the leader and he had other responsibilities on his shoulder as well.
Keeping that in mind he decided to keep hiding. If the situation would have been different then he would definitely try to help Jungkook but not today. His little melon was his responsibility and he would try his very best to avoid everything that might risk it's life.
Taehyung kept sitting behind the pillar for sometime and when he could no longer hear the chaos near him he decided to check around once. Peeking from behind the big structure he found the place to be completely empty. The sounds could still be heard but they were distant now. He got behind the pillar again and unknowingly sighed in relief. But this relief was short lived.
"KIM TAEHYUNG." The loud call for his name startled him. He closed his mouth and kept sitting there without making any sound. "I know you're here somewhere. Your lover boy and friends are busy fighting so you are the only one who can help her."

Taehyung was scared now. Did the man have a hostage with him or was it just a trap to bring him out of hiding? The boy had no idea. He wanted to face the man but the thought of his little melon kept him in place.
"Seems like you don't like your mother-in-law." The man said out loud. Taehyung's eyes widened. He quickly shot up to his feet and came out from behind the pillar without second thoughts. "Oh! There you are." The man smirked as soon as his eyes landed on the petite boy.
"So it was you? You planned this!" Taehyung exclaimed as his eyes landed on his so called step brother. Ki-joon nodded and consolidated his hold on Han-na while the said lady just closed her eyes in fear. "Leave her Ki-joon. She has nothing to do with this." Taehyung shouted.
"You come to me and she is free to go." Ki-joon said eyeing Taehyung up and down. Taehyung felt disgusted with the glare. He was scared beyond his wits now but he kept his calm. Suddenly he noticed that Ki-joon didn't have any weapon with with. Must have used all his bullets. He thought to himself and immediately took out the gun he had secured in his back pocket.
Ki-joon saw the gun pointed at him and started laughing. "You can't fool me with that. You're a weakling Taehyung. I'm not scared of you so just come here already." Taehyung felt pissed at that. The arrogant bastard before him was really testing his patience now.
"Do not take my physical or mental helplessness to be my weakness Ki-joon." Taehyung said with a stern glare and then he fired the gun. The bullet went right through the man's leg. He fell down onto the floor screaming in pain. Han-na on the other hand quickly ran forward and stood behind Taehyung.
"YOU SL*T. YOU ARE GOING TO PAY FOR THIS." Ki-joon shouted while still squirming on the floor. He got up with a lot of difficulty and started walking towards the two infront of him. Taehyung pressed the trigger again but this time no bullet came out. The gun was empty.
He looked up in horror and saw his mad step brother now running towards them in full speed. "Mom run." He told the lady but she didn't budge from her position. "MOM RUN." He shouted at the top of his lungs and started walking backwards trying his very best to push the now frozen lady to safety. He kept his eyes on Ki-joon who was about to reach them and then a sudden bang echoed through the entire place.
Blood splattered all over Taehyung's body and face and he screamed out in fear. The loud thud of the now dead man falling onto the floor spiked his anxiety even more. His knees buckled and he was about to touch the floor but two buff arms held him up safely.
Recognizing the warmth immediately he buried his face in the ravenette's chest breathing heavily. "You did well. Everything is over now. You are safe." The soothing voice and the chanting of the words by his husband calmed him down. He finally registered that they had won. He had won.
He had finally won against a devil of his life.

Bloodlines
Bloodlines is the first major story set in the far larger and immensely connected universe known as Infinitum. A group of renegades and misfits take into the sky in their fancy skyship to fulfill the prophecy they don't care about and defeat the Empire they care even less about. In the process, they learn things (they would rather not) of the fucked up Universe, dead gods, and the future that holds no mercy. Bloodlines draws inspiration from One Piece. But in the bigger picture, Bloodlines is one of many stories set in Cosmere-like universe where plots stretch beyond planets and star systems and stakes are higher than godhood (like in Malazan chronicles). Currently, I am planning to finish the first arc [Bandit Arc], add 10k words interlude with some revelations, then publish a story happening elsewhere. Then I will be back to write the second arc. For now, the Fifth Region has 8 arcs planned. Officially, there are 5 regions. The Fifth Region is not the shortest but is far from the longest regions. - PS. Pay attention to flavor text. Chapters published weekly.
