Two men were sitting at the bar in the Kim mansion enjoying some alcohol at present. "Ki-joon what are you going to do now?" Kai his friend asked. The said man sighed. "I don't know. Dad is such a fool. He gave him away before I could even have a taste of him. And it's killing me. Just the thought of that Jeon enjoying with that sl*t is pissing me off." Ki-joon said as his grip on the glass he was holding tightened. "So you want to get your brother in bed?" Kai was really amused at the possibilities.
"He's not my brother. Half but I don't consider him as a part of the Kims. So technically he can warm my bed." Ki-joon winked and the two friends burst out laughing. "Ok. Ok. Enough of that but why do you think Jeon married Taehyung?" Kai asked.
"For revenge of course. Dad told me how angry he looked when he saw Taehyung. Not just that but he left him on the altar after kissing him aggressively on their marriage day. Dad had enjoyed the entire scene. I wish I was there too." Ki-joon was narrating everything to his friend with a sinister smile on his face. It was as if Taehyung's each and every misery gave him an extra hour of life.
"Sir? There's a letter for you." their talk was suddenly interrupted by the Butler who came in to give him an envelope. "Go. Your work here is done." He dismissed the Butler after taking the envelope from him. He opened it and saw an invitation inside.
Mr. Kim
You have been invited for the business party that is going to be held in the Jeon mansion.

"The Jeons are hosting a party in two weeks." Ki-joon informed after reading the invitation. "So you'll go?" Kai asked curiously. Hearing him the evil man smirked and said "How can I miss this chance? Let me also take a look at what that Jungkook has accomplished after marrying that sl*t?"

He winked at his friend who immediately understood what he meant. Both the friends shared a dark smile before going back to drinking their booze.
It was around 12 am when Jungkook returned home. He thought that it was better to avoid Taehyung for as long as possible so he had been stalling in the headquarters till he was sure that the other would be asleep.
Taking long silent strides through the parlour and up the stairs he reached his room and opened the door. To his surprise the room was not empty instead he saw Taehyung lounging on the bed. His eyes were closed and his head was resting against the bedback.
"What the f*ck are you doing in my room?" Jungkook questioned a little loudly. Hearing the voice Taehyung immediately sat up and looked at Jungkook with a huge smile. "Oh you're back. I was waiting for you Kook." he said getting up from the bed and walking towards the ravenette who was just looking at him with an expressionless face.
Reaching near the ravenette Taehyung snaked his arms around the other's waist and buried his face in his chest taking in the calming forest like scent. He sighed in relief feeling the warmth that was radiating from his husband. "I missed you." he said nuzzling his face deeper. Jungkook on the other hand stood there frozen. Oh! How badly he wanted to embrace the boy in his arms. How badly he wanted to kiss those rosy lips and say 'I missed you too' but he held himself back. Clenching his fists he tried his very best to ignore Taehyung's gestures of love.
Taehyung though did not mind Jungkook's actions at all. He separated himself from the other and smiled widly before saying. "Change quickly. I've made spaghetti today. You must be hun......."

"You don't have to behave this way." Jungkook said cutting the other midway. "And about last night. Whatever happened between us was a mistake. I was dead a*s drunk and I don't remember a think I did. So, if anything happened between us..... I mean if I f*cked you then it was just a mistake."
"You made love to me." Taehyung said looking right into the ravenette's eyes. "I knew you would say that. I didn't even want to talk about last night but since you started the topic then listen." Taehyung had decided to speak his mind. If he wanted to make things right then he had to start right now. So taking in a deep breath he continued. "You are an open book to me kook. I can see through the facade that you've put up. In the beginning I thought that maybe it's all my imagination. Maybe I'm just being foolish and hopeful but after last night everything got crystal clear. You can deny all you want but I know what you feel. And I'll try to give all my love t....." But before he could say more Jungkook cut him off again.
"Love? Open book? Huh! Stop this bullsh*t. You know sometimes I regret marrying you. Why did I even do that? You're such a pain in the a*s." Jungkook slid his fingers through his hair in frustration. "Don't worry this pain in the a*s will be gone in about two years." Taehyung was looking at him with his glassy eyes. "What do you mean?" Jungkook was confused. Hearing the words he felt a sudden uneasiness.
"I'm dying. My heart is dying kook. I'll be gone before you know it. But till then atleast try to be civil with me. You don't have to love me because me loving you is enough. Just don't push me away too much." Taehyung said as a lone tear made it's way down his cheek. Jungkook was too stunned by the sudden revelation. He couldn't understand what he was suppose to say or do. Without thinking he said the first words that came in his mouth. "Go back to your room. I need some space."
Jungkook just kept looking at Taehyung as he nodded his head without uttering a single word. He kept on looking at his husband's retreating back but then Taehyung suddenly stopped at the entrance. Turning around he said something that made Jungkook's heart squeeze tightly in his chest.
"Kook I wish you could read me like an open book too. Our lives could have been so much better then."

Contact First
2039 - Earth A narrow beam energy signal appeared aimed squarely at earth from the TRAPPIST system. The communication consisted of a layered set of repeating data over several thousand wavelengths. Over the next few months scientists discovered that the lower wavelengths carried an encoded numerical language which could then be used to interpret the more complicated messages carried on the higher wavelengths. After half a year of painstaking work the signal was fully decoded. It described a small satellite launched along a precise trajectory towards the fourth planet of our solar system. Included was a package of advanced research that humanity would need to have ready in order to receive the satellite and decelerate it safely. The alien data provided the kick that humanity needed to turn from petty squabbling and unite to explore the final frontier. Major government and corporate leaders worked together to create the framework for the United Federation of Sol. UFS spaceports went from scaffolding to daily launches in every major city around the globe. Ships floated like dandelion seeds, spreading on solar wind to grow into colonies. 2397 - Mars orbit, Egeria Station The command center was a hive of activity as checks were conducted and systems initialized. Scientists flitted by like mayflies as communicators beeped and holoscreens spat out green tinted readouts. Nervous energy was thick in the air as everyone anticipated the culmination of over three hundred years of work. Massive fusion reactors under the planet's surface thrummed with barely restrained power as energy fed into a gleaming metallic maze criss crossing the planet. Metal fingers reached up, overshadowing the mighty olympus mons and trying to grab the stars. All over the solar system, people quickly turned to look as gigantic energy lances shot from the dusty fourth planet. Two years later. The same people that clapped loudly at the successful activation of project Hermes now wait with baited breath. A silver capsule trailing bright photonic sails is captured by a net of grav beams and guided with care bordering on reverence into the station. Holoscreens across the headquarters project an image of the sleek craft settling in the bay. Data connections are established and the holoscreens blink to white. Slowly an image forms on the screen. Across the headquarters people stare in wonder as a wholly alien face stares back. "Contact established. Welcome to the universe."
