My mother was once again drunk on the couch. Since her divorce, she has done nothing but drink and watch television. It makes me sick, seeing her like that. I wish things had gone differently, but my mother wouldn't listen and thought divorce was the right thing to do for our family. I didn't thought the same way. I walked past the living room and went to my room. I couldn't watch her anymore, it's terrible. As a 16 year old, I don't think it's my job to take care of her and tell her not to drink so much.

As usual, I booted up my computer and opened Valorant. That's a shooting game that I've been playing a lot lately. When I game, I clear my mind. I don't have that many friends, so my room is where I spend most of my time.

When I was in the middle of my game, I heard glass falling. I looked startled at "What was that? What happened?" I didn't know what to do so I got up and carefully opened my door. I looked in the hallway, but I didn't see or hear anything. "It probably must have been mother, I shouldn't worry, it'll be fine." I calmed myself. I closed the door again and resumed my game.

An hour later I stopped. I pushed my chair back and stood up. "What am I going to do now?" I looked around my room and decided to go and see my mother to see if things are getting better, possible not, but you never know. When I walk down the hall as quietly as possible and reach the living room, I carefully look around the corner. Mother had fallen asleep on the couch, I see that as a good thing, at least she's not going to drink now.

I sighed in relief and returned to my room. I think I'll just go to bed a little earlier today. If tomorrow goes well, maybe I can visit my best friend
