"if you feel lonely, i could be lonely with you.

tell me baby, why do you seem so blue?"

- sports by beach bunny

★ 彡 say much as they exited the rundown motel and walked into central park a good ten minutes later. of course, bill didn't say anything either, but neither of them minded walking in sorta silence, considering new yorker's had a serious honking problem and for some reason everyone they walked by decided to play the music they were listening to out loud.

the smaller brunette liked that stan had never stopped holding his hand. he must have forgotten to let go, bill thought to himself when entering central park, but he knew that wasn't true. even though he took his hand and his request of this walk, he was annoyed that stan for the past twosome months had said nothing about them, and every time bill tried to bring up their date, or the couple of kisses they shared, stan got out of the conversation as fast as he could. it was wasn't fair, stan playing him for months and then bill letting him take his hand for a good ten minutes.

central park was beautiful. the sun was setting so it left a red hue in the sky and on the trees and grass. although there was a big crowd, it was fairly easy to get around.

bill denbrough pulled back stan's hand a minute later and crossed his arms over his chest, making an annoyed face at stan, finally deciding he would show stan he was mad at him for basically leading him on. stan on the other hand just thought him trying to look angry made him look ten times more adorable than he already was.

"bill. ok, i'm just gonna say it now. oh my god, i'm so nervous. ok," stan started, inching closer to the slightly shorter boy, and resting his hands on his slim shoulders gently, trying to get bill to look at him. "i really like you. i really, really like you."

bill looked up at him and met his eyes, and although he knew he liked him too, maybe a little too much to admit, he squinted his eyes angrily at him and pushed his hands off his shoulders.

stan knew exactly what bill was thinking, bill didn't even need to say it. he knew he had been avoiding any relationship talk with bill, and he knew he was mad over it, i mean who wouldn't? it was his fault and he was ready to take responsibility for it, right after he told bill what was on his mind recently.

"i like you because you're kind. you're so fucking nice to everyone it makes me look like a piece of dirt next to you. like that time eddie was freaking out about that speech that he definitely got a 100% on, and you passed him a note and told him that he did great. like i would never think to do that!"

bill blushed.

"and you're so funny. oddly serious sometimes, but really funny. like in the middle of the night when you'll just come over and push me off my bed or when we are playing with georgie in his forts or whatever he makes. oh, and that time you made waffles and dumped syrup on my hand when i told you i didn't need to wash my hands before eating. you don't need words to make me happy and laugh constantly. and, uh, you're always so fucking cute, but we don't need to go on about that because i don't wanna be out in central park when it's dark out."

bill's mouth sort of gaped, but he managed to close it when stan had finished talking. my god, was he not expecting that. bill wished he could've videotaped that and watched it back a million times over. he managed out a silent thank you, which now looking back he's regretting acting so awkward.

"so..." stan asked with his hands in his pockets now, slowing rocking back and forth on his heels and toes. bill watched his curly, light brown curls bounce with his feet and his caramel-colored eyes making him nearly melt into the ground.

how could bill say no to that?

he didn't exactly reply. he reached up to stan's face on his tippy-toes and pecked him on the cheek, noticing stan blush. then bill took stan's hand out of his pocket and intertwined their hands, smiling at him. stan smiled back. neither of them knew exactly what this all meant, but so far they both knew they had strong feelings for each other and in the moment that was enough.

bill hadn't even noticed that they were in central fucking park, and man was this place packed. stan was almost 100% sure that random people walking by had heard his confession to bill, but he didn't care anymore because he loved him.

"it's pretty here." stan said, looking around vaguely, but mainly kept his gaze towards their hands intertwined.

bill nodded, and looked to his left. he pointed to a building decently far off in the distance, the museum of natural history. "what a nerd," stan scoffed, making bill nudge him, but stan started their walk to the museum anyway.

stan would tell bill about his father later, the real reason why he hadn't spoken to bill about their relationship in the last two months. bill didn't have to know now, he looked so happy.

after entering the museum, bill let go of stan's hand to check out the gigantic tyrannosaurus rex in the center of the main hall. stan thought it was pretty cool too, but he had seen it multiple times before. he nearly forgot bill had never seen new york before.

"oh my god, bill, you need to see times square at one point, it's so pretty at night." stan said but realized bill had already started to leave and walk down the hall. bill paused, turned around, and nodded to stan, before grabbing his hand like before. stan could tell already how much bill liked PDA already and it had only been a few minutes so far, which stan wasn't complaining about.

stan took bill's hand and let bill lead him through the many different rooms and halls of the museum, bill giving him a little tour of the place, even though stan was the one that had been at the museum before and bill had just done his research.

"one sec, bill," stan said, looking down at his phone to see beverly calling him. "hopefully nobody died," stan joked, answering the call and putting it up to his ear.

"oh my god, finally you answer. richie has locked himself in my hotel bathroom and told me he isn't coming back out unless someone kills myra winters. i mean, i don't disagree, but a little harsh. anyway, the important bit, bring eddie back so i can have richie back, that boy's about as smart as a rock for leaving with myra." beverly finished, and stan took in what she had said.

bill stopped walking and turned around to look at him, eyeing the phone. "everyone's okay, rich is just being overdramatic about eddie," stan answered bill, reading his mind on what bill would have asked.

"bev, tell richie that you ordered some new pizza or something, we'll see you soon." stan hung up on her, not really caring about the phone call at the moment.

"do you wanna head back?" stan asked bill, and bill nodded, even though he was having fun nerding out at the museum.

god, sometimes stan walked to hear his voice.
